[Somewhere in the Land of Fire]

In a dark underground cave. a white cocoon was hanging by the giant root of a tree

[Zetsu's POV]

Opening my eyes as I gained consciousness, I saw that I was trapped in Some kind of bag. So, as anyone will be in my place. I panicked and started wiggling and thrashing to and fro causing the sack to tear and I fell face-first to the ground.

*Bam*

Zetsu "Oof... ouch".

Lying on the ground, I calmed my nerves and started to process how this situation came to be and how I ended up as a lowly white zetsu.

I was once an ordinary college student, doing all the things that an average student would do. However, I had a hobby of watching and reading anime and manga since my school days.

One day, on my way to college, I got into an accident with a bus while rescuing a little girl. just like that...it was a spur-of-a-moment thing...and then I died

Zetsu: "Sigh....at least I had life insurance. I hope my family is doing ok."

Anyway, After that I ended up in purgatory or something like that as I was in a white room with an office desk and chair upon which a being who called himself Mr.M was sitting wearing a white suit.

Mr M: "Mr Alex so... I will give it to you straight. you were not supposed to die at such a young age. But due to some unforeseen error, Here you are, sitting in front of me. Now you have two choices, either get reincarnated without your memories and you will get to choose your world, time of birth, and race of birth OR get reincarnated with your memories but everything is randomised."

I thought for a couple of minutes and decided to take option 2 as I didn't want to forget who I was.

Alex: "I will take the 2nd option and keep my memories".

Mr M: "ok let's get started 1st the selection of the world that you will be reincarnated into!"

Mr.M pressed a button & I saw a lot of names Showing up on the screen like Dragon Ball, Death Note, Marvel, D.C, Naruto, Pokemon, etc.

I was praying to get a peaceful world. But After a minute or 2. a name appeared on the screen.

*Ding*

Alex: "No....why did it have to be the Naruto world."

Mr M: "Well....there is no redoing it now. let's select when you would be reincarnated."

Then Mr M again clicked on the button and the sounds started coming.

*Ding Dong Ding Dong*

After some time again a name appears on the screen.

*DING*

Alex: "Is this a prank or something how am I going to survive in the warring States era. when I don't even know how to fight".

Mr M: " I assure you Mr Alex this is most definitely not a prank. Maybe you will get a powerful bloodline like Senju or Uchiha in the next round. Now let's proceed."

saying that MR M again pressure a button.

*Click*

*Ding Ding Ding Dong*

I was desperately praying to get anything good. Any clan would do. I'll even take the Inazuka clan. With my luck till now even getting Inazuka would be a miracle.

*Ding *

A name appeared on the screen.

Alex:"..."

Mr.M: "..."

we stared at each other for a minute because the name on the Screen.... was written as white Zetsu!

I was filled with despair. I had to become a puppet of Kagua and black zetsu with no free will and was destined to meet my end in the 4th shinobi war if not sooner.

As if reading my thoughts Mr M said: "Well.... let's look at the bright side. Since I am reincarnating your soul in the white Zetsu you will not be included in the Zetsu hive mind.so you will be able to hide and live peacefully."

After hearing what Mr.M said. I tried to compose myself, but the life of fear and on the run was not what I wanted either.

Alex: "Why do I have to run and hide my entire life just to be a lifeless tree monster.....what have I done to deserve this????"

Mr M: "Sigh....fine.Since it's partially our fault in you coming here. I will help you a little just this once. You can ask for any one ability within reason. so that you don't die too soon ".

Mr M: "It can't be anything outside the world and it can't be too outrageous like Rinnegan, EMS, Tenseigan, etc things like that.

Alex: 'ok, let's calm down and think about this carefully. It can't be to OP and has to be within the world limit. so it has to be a grown type ability and since Naruto's world is all about genetics so....'

Alex: "OK, I think I have got it. I want the ability "ASSIMILATE". So that I can assimilate any material be it genetic, chemical, energy or anything and manifest said abilities"

Mr M: "Hmm... assimilate huh! I see what you did there. I said nothing too outrageous. But It can be done, only It won't be as outrageous as you assimilating within seconds like the blacklight virus.It would take some time to assimilate "

Alex: "ok.... I'll accept it.thank you for granting me the wish."

As I was saying my thanks I blacked out, and here I was lying on the floor of a dark underground cave with a giant root. Probably the chakra tree's root I guess.

Alex: 'Humm....my eyes have somewhat adapted to the darkness. So that I can now see better'

Feeling his body through his hands Alex exclaimed.

"It's so weird to have a plant-like body".

He checked out his body and it looked like a standard Zetsu Clone with, pale yellow eyes, green hair, white skin and no little brother down there...

Alex:" Thank god or Mr M, I can assimilate or I would have to be stuck like this my entire life".

'It was said that Zetsu was not a fighter and was around Chunin level or so but that Zetsu had Hashirama's cells implanted in him. On the other hand, I will probably be around the genin level. On top of that, the only fighting that I ever did was in PUBG and I only have the instinctive chakra control of a standard zetsu which I don't know where it stands in the ninja world.'

Alex: "Well.....better get out of this place and see what's going on in the world right now."
