Unfair Afterlife

In the past I thought that Karma isn't real but now I understand that it is very much real.

It has been 4 years since I died and got reincarnated in this new world. As it should be my baby brain didn't have the capacity to recall all of my previous memories. It took me 4 years to collect all of them bit by bit I drew on paper, wrote some phrases that I remember from my previous life. And after so long I finally managed to put them in place and remember about my previous life.

I was your typical middle aged virgin otaku who used to work as a software engineer. The Last of my memories were about me returning to my house from the comic con in my skyline GTR.

I remembered criticizing a girl because she was cosplaying Sakura Haruno. The trash character of Naruto. Honestly no one will disagree with me. I still think that she is not only the trash character of Naruto but also the most useless character of the entire anime verse. My most favourite Naruto movie was the one in which Kurama punched Sakura in her face.

And now I have been reincarnated as her. I think god punished me because of criticizing that girl.

"SAKURA ! DINNER IS READY !"

I sighed as I heard the high pitched shout of my mother.

It was a good thing that my parents took my drawings and writings as a childish thing. The thought of me as a quiet child. I was really thankful that I wasn't taken as a genius.

The hidden leaf village has a very bad history with geniuses.

Whether it is Orochimaru, Sakumo, Minato, Kakashi, Shisui or Itachi, all of their fate is almost same. Miserable. The first one became a meniac. The second one suicided because he was criticized by his own teammates whom he rescued. The third one got influenced by a toad and not only sacrificed himself but also made his family miserable. The third one is a broken man who decided to hide himself. The fourth one was backstabed by the one he trusted. And the last one was forced to kill his entire clan including his own parents.

So I have no intention of declaring myself as a genius. That was the only reason I befriended Ino-shika-cho trio. Knowing my mother she will declare me as a genius on a stage if she found out about my intelligence. On that note I was very happy that I dodged the bullet.

This world is very cruel. I have completely understood that this is no fictional world. This is a cruel world where the adults doesn't mind sending children to war. It was one of the darkest world I could have been reborn into.

When I think about it my life choice was pretty clear. I will be nothing more than a cattle ready to be processed by the butcher if I stay as a civilian. So my only option was to become a ninja. This world is a dog eat dog world. Might makes the right here. So staying weak isn't an option. And even if I become strong like Naruto or Sasuke it won't be enough for survival.

There is also another thing to consider. The problem of becoming strong is that I will attract many attentions.

Even the clan kids were not safe from Danzo. I don't even want to think what will happen to me if he took interest in me. Worst case scenario I will be nothing more than a mindless puppet under Danzo. That was the reason why I didn't take any steps to know about chakra or Ninja business. I didn't even try to unlock my own chakra. I wanted to avoid as much trouble as possible. Some night say that I am being paranoid. But I am just being cautious.

A four years old child from a civilian family unlocking chakra will definitely attract many unwanted attention. Whom I wanted to avoid very much. Who knows they might even murder my parents to get me. I mean I was talking about a man who massacred an entire clan including children and newborn, just so that he could get his hands on some magic eyes.

Thinking about it clearly it must have been the plot armour that made the canon Sakura useless. If she had been useful then she might not even reach adulthood.

That's why I have no plans to show any improvement unless Tsunade becomes Hokage.

There is also another thing that I wanted. A system. Every isekai protagonist's lifeline. At first I thought that I will get it when I reach a certain age where I recover my memories. But it didn't happen. There is also a posability that I will get it when the canon events starts. But after sometime I realised that I better not hope for a system. Everything around me is not fiction anymore. It was very much real. So my chance of getting a system was also very low. That's why I decided that I will work from the start. If I get a system in future it is good otherwise my hard work now will pay off.

Time passed very quickly as I became six and entered the academy. In the six years course of military training, there are a lot of things to learn.

"Sakura ! Don't space out again !" Ino voice brought me back to reality.

"Jeeez, what are you even thinking most of the time ?" She asked me.

"It is nothing. I was really just excited about going to the academy. I was thinking about what we will learn there." I told her.

"Don't worry about it Sakura, from what I remembered from my mom, we won't be learning anything ninja related for the first year.

Mostly it is about reading and writing calligraphy and some basic Ninja rules for those who don't know about them. And also they will be teaching us about a few basic exercises in the first year.

We won't be even learning about chakra the first year. Only introduced to us in the beginning of the second year." Ino told me excitedly.

I wasn't aware about those informations.

So I nodded my head along.

It seems that the first year is going to be very boring.
