Chapter 16 : Too Good To Be True

"DING..."

Shirou wakes up from his sleep as he hears the strange ringing sound.

'Huh..?' - Shirou.

"All conditions satisfied. System activation."

"MULTIVERSE BLADES SYSTEM activated."

"Is this... my cheat?" - Shirou.

Shirou was excited. It was not just his body, he had another cheat. With this he won't need to worry about his potential and continue to research a way to break his limits.

While Shirou did not like the idea of power that was simply given, he was willing to use his new system because this system did not provide power directly, instead it only provided knowledge. By accumulating sword points which can be earned by engaging in sword-related activities like sword training, fighting with swords, forging blades, learning about them and so on, Shirou can exchange the points with the system to get things like sword techniques, sword forging manuals and many more.

There are many overpowered manuals like Kanshou and Bakuya, a sword version of Gae Bolg, master sword and even the likes of Excalibur.

"DING..." - System.

"Starter pack has been awarded." - System.

Shirou was excited, just what type of reward did he get?

"Host has been awarded Kanshou and Bakuya." - System.

In a flash of light, Shirou's two hands suddenly found themselves holding Archer Emiya's main weapons Kanshou and Bakuya.

'Huh...? It looks like the starter pack reward is not knowledge but the blades themselves.' - Shirou.

This was when Shirou noticed something strange. The classroom was empty. There was no one.

'Huh...? Where is everyone? And why did I notice this only now?' - Shirou.

He felt something was strange. He decided to go outside to see the situation. But just then.

"CRASH"

"Aah.." - Shirou.

The class wall exploded. Shirou ducked down and tried to shield himself from the flying debris using his swords.

When Shirou raised his head to look at the destroyed wall, his breathing stopped. Terror flashed in his eyes. His body started shaking.

"No... No way... How are you here?" - Shirou.

Standing there was a man with golden hair and red crimson eyes, wearing golden armor. A disdainful expression appears as he looks at Shirou.

"Gilgamesh" - Shirou.

"Hmph, Faker." - Gilgamesh.

"You dare to show yourself in my presence, MONGREL." - Gilgamesh.

Dozens of yellow portals appeared around Gilgamesh. Dozens of noble phantasms rocketed toward Shirou at high speeds.

Shirou did not know what to do. He tried to defend with Kanshou and Bakuya but he had never used swords in combat before. He wasn't skilled or strong enough yet.

"DIE" - Gilgamesh.

 Shirou closed his eyes as death approached.

"Wa..e .p"

'Huh?' - Shirou.

Something slammed into Shirou's head with force.

"I SAID WAKE UP"

"SLAM"

"AAAH... Huh?" - Shirou.

Shirou stood up screaming, opening his eyes, only to see that the entire classroom was looking at him like an idiot with many of them laughing, and in front of him was his teacher glaring at him with a book in his hand.

Realizing what had actually happened, Shirou was relieved.

"Whew... Luckily it was just a dream. Um... Sorry about that Sensei." - Shirou.

The teacher was not happy with him. But he was willing to forgive Shirou since it was only the first day.

"Sigh... Make sure not to repeat this. This will be your first and last chance." - Teacher.

Shirou nodded.

"Now, your name, and your dreams for the future." - Teacher.

'Let's keep it simple.' - Shirou.

"Yes. My name is Muramasa Shirou. My dream is to be a strong ninja." - Shirou.

"Then you better stay awake in class." - Teacher.

Shirou nodded.

"Good. Now sit down." - Teacher.

'System!?... you there?... Sigh. I should have known it was too good to be true.' - Shirou.

"Next." - Teacher.

"I am Uchiha Obito and my dream is to become the Hokage." - Obito.

Silence. Followed by laughter.

"You, the Hokage? HaHa.."

"If Kakashi had said that I would believe but you? Your results in the entrance test were just slightly above average. You haven't even awakened your sharingan."

"Grrr... Just all of you wait. I will show you." - Obito.

"Alright, that is enough. Quiet down." - Teacher.

Shirou looked at Obito.

Shirou wanted to save him. But against the likes of Madara and Black Zetsu, he was powerless.

After everyone finished introducing themselves, the teacher decided to start the classes.

The classes consisted of reading, writing, mathematics, science, geography, etc. The students were taught Ninja rules. Ways to exercise their mind and bodies. They were also made to train with Ninja weapons and tools. Classes were divided into Taijutsu, Ninjutsu and Genjutsu. Taijutsu is all about Ninja hand-to-hand combat. Ninjutsu is all about chakra knowledge, how to manipulate and use chakra and also about hand seals. Genjutsu classes seem to not focus on creating an illusion instead it is more about how they function. Students are taught how to defend against such techniques.

'The girls seem to have an additional Kunoichi class. I wonder what they are taught in that class.' - Shirou.

Shirou was barely alive at the end of the Taijutsu class. Ninjutsu and Genjutsu were the only classes he excelled at. But Shirou hated that he was not taught any elemental techniques or hypnosis techniques.

The theory was no longer a problem for Shirou. His sword-based photographic memory took care of that. But the practical stuff was the problem now.

During the break, Shirou decided to gather info about the school curriculum from the senior students. Most of them were unwilling to talk to him but he did manage to find people who would answer his questions.

At the end of his investigation, Shirou was devastated.

'Damn it. They will only teach us the good advanced stuff like Elemental, Genjutsu, Medical and Fuinjutsu techniques after we graduate. Even the tree walking and water walking are only taught after graduation.' - Shirou.

'Normally this wouldn't be much of an issue. But the Third Ninja War is starting around next year. They will most likely not teach us too much and will make us graduate early. We will be sent to do missions which will be dangerous due to it being wartime, or worse we will be sent directly to the battlefield.' - Shirou.

Shirou ignored the teacher's lecture. He was thinking about how to escape from the war. Because he was sure that at this rate he would not be strong enough to survive the war if he trained normally.

The only good thing about the academy was that it had a library full of ninja techniques. From what Shirou heard the techniques were all low-rank ones. But they included Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Medical and even Fuinjutsu techniques.

'I need a plan, fast.' - Shirou.

'Should I memorize all the library knowledge I need and quit the academy before the war starts... That's actually not a bad idea. I need to think more about it.'- Shirou.

After the academy was over, Shirou went to Tetsuya's smithy.

Tetsuya taught Shirou everything about weaponsmithing. Shirou absorbed all the information like a sponge.

Even though Tetsuya has already seen Shirou's talent he still had trouble reconciling.

Looking at Shirou who was striking the heated blade with a hammer.

'Monster.' - Tetsuya.

"Alright, that's enough Shirou." - Tetsuya.

"Ok" - Shirou.

Looking at the kunai Shirou had crafted, Tetsuya still could not believe it.

'This kind of progress... on the second try? Is this really possible by normal humans???' - Tetsuya.

"How is it?" - Shirou.

"Not bad, but you still have ways to go." - Tetsuya.

'Just how is this possible... It took me a long time before I reached this level. This feeling... this jealousy... Just who did I provoke to experience this? I know I did many stupid things in my youth but isn't this just too much.' - Tetsuya.

'I wonder if I can add abilities to the weapons I create using the Alteration spell. Like a fire sword, water sword...' - Shirou.

'Hmm... could I recreate and modify the techniques from the Demon Slayer series? If I can inherit Shirou Emiya's body and live in the Naruto world then the Demon Slayer world and the breathing styles should also exist. I need to look into this.' - Shirou.
