10 Chapter 10 : Recreating Basic Spells

Shirou did not tell the entire story of how he awakened his Chakra to Ishida. He told the truth with most parts omitted. Shirou wants to keep his otherworld knowledge a secret for as long as he can.

"So meditation actually worked for you. I guess it makes sense. Your yin imbalance gives you high spiritual energy. Your sensing ability must be related to it." - Ishida.

"But you do know your physical strength is going take a lot of effort to improve right? Even then it might not reach other's level. You will need to take advantage of your yin-release talent. There is also your narrow Tenketsu issue giving you lower Chakra reserves." - Ishida.

"I know. But I might find a way in the future to overcome all this. And besides I am not placing all my bets on becoming a ninja. There is a job I am very interested in. If I can't keep up with the academy teachings then I will switch to it." - Shirou.

"Oh. That's good to hear. Can I hear what this job is?" - Ishida.

"Weaponsmithing." - Shirou.

"Hmm.. Not bad. If you put in the effort you can make a lot of money. Ninja weapons are in high demand." - Ishida.

Shirou even had a worst-case scenario plan, if none of his plans to become stronger worked then he would join the Ichiraku Ramen as a cook. Shirou was sure that he possessed the original Shirou Emiya's cooking talent.

"Well, you still have some months left before the academy entrance test. How are you planning to train? You should know your state." - Ishida.

"I know, for now, I am mainly going to focus on Chakra control. I will do some light running and exercises for a few days and then slowly increase the intensity." - Shirou.

"Hm.. that's good... You know I can teach you until the academy starts right." - Ishida.

"No, I am not in a rush. Besides I am still not sure if I even want to become a ninja. I just want to try out different things and see what I like before focusing on it." - Shirou.

"Hm... Maybe you are right." - Ishida.

"Is it possible for me to find a part-time job as a weaponsmith?" - Shirou.

Ishida looks at Shirou with a face that seems to say "Are you kidding me".

"Why do you want to start so early kid? Can't you just wait for a few years? It's not like you are starving here right." - Ishida.

"I had an idea when I read the books in the library. But if I want to complete it I need money to buy the materials, I will also need weaponsmithing skills and a workstation. There are some other things that I need to figure out as well." - Shirou.

"Oh. Sounds like you are trying to make some kind of weapon. Tell me what it is?" - Ishida.

Ishida is interested in what Shirou's idea is.

"It's something simple, if I can make it work then I will show you. Right now it will be a secret. Also, there is a chance if I tell you, you might steal my idea." - Shirou.

Ok, that made someone angry.

"You brat. Why would I even do that? I am not so low as to steal a child's idea." - Ishida.

"You were a ninja. Isn't stealing intel a part of your job? So the chance is not zero." - Shirou.

Ishida knew he had to teach this brat some manners.

"I know some good friends who are weaponsmiths. I will check with them. If one of them accepts then you need to put in the work. Otherwise..." - Ishida.

"I know, I won't slack of. This is great." - Shirou.

"OK then, now I need to teach you some manners. COME HERE." - Ishida.

Shirou realized he was in big trouble.

"Oh, look at the time. I will be leaving." - Shirou.

He ran away.

"Get back here you brat." - Ishida.

Ishida chased after him. Shirou was captured in seconds.

[ After some time ]

"Ouch." - Shirou.

'That bastard, he almost ripped my ears off.' - Shirou.

He was massaging his ears which were almost permanently stretched.

'Looks like Akira was on to something when he said he would fire Ishida in the future.' - Shirou.

'I hope my ears return to normal soon.' - Shirou.

Anyway, it's finally time to start recreating Shirou Emiya's spells from Fate Stay Night.

'Structural Analysis, Reinforcement, Alteration, Projection and Tracing.' - Shirou.

Shirou hopes that recreating the spells will be easy. Based on the information and visual scenes of Fate Stay Night. Structural Analysis seems to be scanning an object with magic energy. Reinforcement is described as using magic power to enhance an object's existence to its maximum limit. Alteration is to give an object a property or effect that it originally didn't have, with enough mastery one can even manipulate objects. Projection is creating an object using magic energy and Tracing is basically projection with all of its information like history, creation, skill, memories and everything.

The first spell Shirou decided to recreate is Structural Analysis. Shirou took out his toy sword. He concentrated and controlled his chakra or magic power to pass through and scan the sword. Since the toy is related to the concept of swords, Shirou was hoping he would have a higher chance of success. This was the first time he used his magic power outside his body so some of it dissipated, but most of it still managed to pass through the sword. Shirou could only sense static in his mind at the start. But as he continued trying different magic movements and changing his state of mind, he began to figure out what was wrong with his execution and what he needed to do. Instead of forcing the magic to go through the toy, he let his magic wash over it like a pulse. He cleared his mind and let the information about the toy flow in. The greater his state of focus, the more information he gets. In the case of swords his focus was so great that the name, measurements, where and how it was made, materials, how it ended up in his hand, everything was easily accessible.

Shirou stopped using magic. He was excited, he had done it. His connection with swords was too overpowered. He started using the spell on other objects like stone, tables, grass, chairs and anything he could get his hands on. He found that the closer the objects are related to swords, the easier it will be. For things like grass and rocks, he could find their measurements, names and such but things like the history and creation were too difficult. He needed more training to get information from them. Shirou was not sure how long it would take but he would do it.

After Shirou finished practicing his Structural Analysis he didn't move to recreating Reinforcement. This is because if he puts magic beyond the object's limit, it will break apart. So he will only start it once he masters Structural Analysis to a state where he can accurately measure an object's exact reinforcement limit.

Shirou then decided to do some light running.
