'Alert: "Rhy" has joined the party of his master Chaaya'

Ther field was encased in a golden glow. The sun behind us was dipping under the rolling hills, the scarlet glow bounced perfectly off her eyes as she smiled at me. The words had slipped out and just like that with the slip of the tongue I was committed to her.

"Now we need to get you set up at the guild. You have a sword?" the idea had totally slipped my mind. Equipment. I need some kind of starting equipment and money.

My inventory is highlighted. There's a small box. That must be what the alert was about. It's rated E right? Damn that's unfortunate I wanted some kick ass sword or magic that could let me breeze through this. Well I still have my video gaming experience no matter how rusty from when I was shut in. I clicked on the box and It appeared in my hand. That's handy. It looks like I can store items here but there's probably some kinda carry capacity. As I opened it a yellow glow beamed out of the box and it vanished.

Again I tapped on the sword in my inventory and it appeared in my hand.

"Wow where the hell did that come from? Some kinda demon magic I bet" Her speaking scared the bejesus outta me. I totally forgot she was right next to me. "Anyway it's fine its night now which means gates'll start spawning. We are in a relatively low magic zone so we will only get maybe two or three. But even so that doesn't make them any less dangerous so we should be cautious and since I don't know any attack magic it will be up to you to defend us both." She is staring down at the ground, what the hell she doesn't even know any magic, some master.

"It will be fine mortal for you have summoned me and that is all the magic you shall need."

We traveled down into the fields and as promised gates started appearing there were four in total and they were all locked. Chaaya walked up to one of them and started a short chant, her palm starting to glow and a tattoo glowing from under her armour. It was of a rune and it was glowing bright blue.

So we're starting off easy huh? I pulled up my sword and we walked into the gate, magic swallowing us. Everything felt loose for a minute, it was a strange sensation and it flooded my body with thought and then it was over. We were in a small forest and in front of us was a boar with red eyes. The doors shut behind us with a loud clang.

I started by swinging my sword at the boar which made it mad. It charged at me, its tusks aimed for my chest. I can't think. Why did I think I could be this cool hero? No, I need to focus. This is my second chance and I'm gonna make it to the top. I screamed and lowered my sword like I'd seen in the movies and prepared to attack but there was no need, the boar to run right into my sword. The blood splattered everywhere. The boar pulled back, and was still alive. Somehow. I swung my sword down again, smashing my sword into the head of the boar.

That was the first time I killed something, it was a feeling I didn't want to get accustomed to. I hated it. My head swerved back and my stomach turned. I wanted to hurl. How was I so pathetic?

"Don't stop now, more are coming, you can do it." The light hearted cheer came from behind me but somehow it worked. I don't want my second try to be a failure too. I can't be stepped on anymore. Chaaya's words had roused my spirits and I sprinted forward at such a speed I never knew was possible. My legs are pushing me forward like engines. But It wasn't a dangerous kind of speed. It was mine. I could control it, I could see the enemies and I could see what I needed to do. I charged into the first boar my sword in front of me the blade plunging into it's soft belly. We tumbled over on the ground and the sword opened up the boar's wound. I stood up taking the sword from the corpse and stood to the other three. The first charged at me. It really was like a video game. They had attack patterns and were predictable. Thankfully I was great at reading enemy moves. The boar charged at me it's tusk flying at my chest. I caught the strong ivory sticking my sword into the boar's head as it stood helpless. The other two charged at me. I chucked the dead boar at the boar on the left making it fall over. I waited for the boar to jump and crouched down thrusting my sword through the airborne boar. As blood dripped down onto my clothes I watched the last boar get up. I heaved the carcas to the side and got up. The boar charged at my hand pushing the sword from my hand then running past me and turning around it charged at me. I was defenseless. I looked around desperately for a weapon but time was running out. The boar jumped aiming for my head and there was nothing I could do. Until suddenly I saw it. I reached down to the boar at my feet and pulled it's head up the tusks acting like spikes, skewering the pig in the air showering me with blood. I walked over to my sword and picked it up. Raising it up in the air I plunged it down into the flesh killing it.

I scrolled to my inventory and saw a coat. It was classed at B-rank. I scrolled to my status and applied the five skill points on attack.
