Alert: Rhy’s path has been divined - A-rank Blacksmith

Fear ran through my body. It was like nothing I had ever experienced. The sheer terror. The pure unbridled power emanating out of the… the thing in front of me was terrifying. The gate stretched and warped as a huge monster ducked into it. It was at least 500 meters tall. It's skin was grey and it had huge rams horns spiraling out of its head. It didn't even register me. It just leaned on one of the sky scrapers and munched on a wyvern. I had to kill it. My fight or flight instinct was going haywire. How could this thing be A-rank? I ran up the tower, my legs moving so fast I felt like they would fall off. My sword was dragging behind me as I charged up the half broken windows. I reached the roof, somehow I was standing eye to eye with the beast in front of me. It's gleaming blue eyes pierced through me like an attack in itself. I jumped toward the giant. I landed on it's shoulder and stared at its neck.

'Alert: Skill activated - "Lightning rush" '

I was now in the middle of its neck just below its long animalistic mouth. Had I been successful? Was that all there was to it? I looked down at my hand. Except it was gone. It was still lying by the monster's neck, the bone snapped in two.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!"

The pain consumed me. My vision blurred, I couldn't see I was about to pass out in the middle of the game. How could something hurt this much? How could something be that strong? And what the fuck was stronger than that? I thought I was strong. I thought this was my new life and I was going to go above everyone else. But that was just as arrogant as Chaaya. How could I think after a week I was anywhere near to the level of one of these monsters. Damn I really hope that thing about not dying was true. I was falling towards the ground. The familiar view of the concrete closing in, inching closer until there was nothing.

I sat up screaming my face and entire body was covered in sweat. I was panting like a dog. My heart was going a mile a minute. I looked down immediately, My mind bursting with fear. I let out a sigh of relief to see my hand still whole. I wasn't dead. But the more important question is was that a dream? Could I have made all that up?

Blacksmith?!? What the hell kinda joke is this? I thought at the least I'd get something cool like swordsman or samurai but blacksmith? It's just my luck that I'd get a weedy path like this. It said I got four new skills? Lets see the first is weapon mastery: it says it gives the user a plus twenty strength on any weapon they forged. And the second is conjure: it says this lets you summon any weapon you made directly without using the inventory window.

The third is a skill called assess: it says it means I can analyse any weapon and find out how it's made and what it's made of and it will be put in my recipe book. And the last is…. No way lvl. 1 wyvern wing: it lets me fly for ten seconds. Now this is what I call a skill! I need to test this out as soon as I can! Now where should I put my skill points? I want to put them in just strength and speed but I feel like magic is going to be the only thing that lets me win against those monsters. So I'll split them evenly amongst the three. Next time I'll put my skill points in health and rely on my armour for defence.

'Alert: would you like to use title - "Blacksmith." '

Damn I forgot to click yes. It looks like this title will buff my weapons.

'Alert: "C-rank adventurer Rhy" is now "Blacksmith Rhy" '

I scrolled over to the crafting window. It had four sub windows: There was crafting, the upgrade window, the repair window and the infuse window. I swiped over to the repair window and clicked on the icon for my black broadsword. And pressed repair my inventory was drained of black steel and after a few seconds.

'Alert: Rhy repaired an item - "Black broadsword +" '

Damn all the stats have almost been doubled. Maybe this isn't some throw away class. I fiddled around with my new window for a bit learning about how it works. Essentially when you defeat monsters raw materials are transferred into your inventory which I was supposed to be selling but didn't. These materials can be used to upgrade, repair or even craft a new item. But the infusion that was tricky to wrap my head around. Essentially monster mages can use magic from rune stones and if you kill them they drop them. Using that I can infuse their magic into a weapon making fire swords and other magical weapons. These are pretty standard in video games but I never expected to be able to make them on my own.

"What are you doing up at this hour? It's almost noon!" Chaaya said she walked into the room in pajamas and walked over to the kitchen and started to brew some coffee. "And what's with that grin? You look weird."

"Hey human we need to go out there's something I want to try."

"Yes sure, given that you bow before me and pledge eternal….."

"No"

"What aaaahh. Fine let me get dressed but you know there won't be any gates at this hour."

We walked out to a field as usual. I was trailing behind her like a trained pet. I walked a few steps further than her standing in the grass

'Alert: Skill activated - "Wyvern wing" '

Two light blue almost transparent wings jutted out of my back and suddenly a timer appeared in front of me standing still at ten. I jumped into the air flapping my wings, thrusting up and up bursting up into the clouds hitting that same feeling of peacefulness as I reached the peak of my arc. Then I plummeted down to the ground, falling faster than I could believe until I spread my wings and pushed up, stopping midair and gently falling to the ground.

"What the hell? Since when could you fly?"

"It's a recent thing I suppose."

"Well then as your master, the one who you vowed to serve with your life I demand that you take me flying."

"No" her eyes teared up and her fists curled like she was about to throw another tantrum, for some reason I feel bad for this human. Is this Stockholm syndrome? Nah that's ridiculous nothing could ever make me like a human. But "not today but maybe another time." Her face lit up with joy.
