Hope of escape dwindled for the group. Genos' heart sank at the sight of his fallen ally the white eagle.

"Join us for a game before you leave," crooned the Lich, his laughter resonant in the smoky air. He conjured another heart, only to crush it in his grasp, casting another curse.

The Beastwoman Wolf grimaced in agony; the curse had ruptured one of her kidneys, though she remained defiantly alive.

The Lich, unfazed, summoned a third heart, his cruel intent clear as he laughed menacingly, "no one was safe from my deadly game."

In a desperate bid for survival, White Eagle Genos, summoning his remaining strength, waved his eagle-headed cane and cast a retaliatory spell at the Lich.

Meanwhile, as chaos erupted, the Amazon sisters charged at Basaka. He repelled their assault with mere swings of his arms, sending them rebounding like discarded toys.
