Under the lich's astonished gaze, Jason, now merged with the dragon, beat the massive wings and soared rapidly away from the mountain range. His speed rivaled that of a true dragon, leaving the lich hesitant and ultimately choosing not to pursue or block his path.

The lich knew well that striking Jason was a near-impossible feat, especially now that he had transformed and taken flight. The only spell that had worked before, a weakened version of "Meteor Fall," had lost its effectiveness.

Bound by the commands of the General Skeleton, the lich was also restricted from leaving the Mountains of the Undead at will.
