2 Detained

Leo sat down on a chair with his hands against his head.

"Fuck! How am I going to explain this to them!" thought Leo.

He started wondering how it could've happened but couldn't find a reasonable explanation.

Two minutes after the executive flatlined, Lynn returned with an IV filled with lorazepam.

Doctor, I have-"

"Don't bother, we lost him."

Lynn remained silent for a while before asking the grand question to Leo.

"How are we going to explain his?"

"Honestly I have no fucking idea, I don't even know why this happened. We will just have to report it in for now."

"I will do it, doctor." said Lynn in a sweet voice.

Leo first didn't agree since this was quite major, but Lynn insisted that she should do it.

In the end, Leo agreed.

Right as Lynn was about to leave the room, Leo asked a question.

"Also, how come it took you so long to return with the IV?"

"Medicine storage room was locked for some reason, so I had to get the key from the lounge."

"Ah, alright." responded Leo.

Lynn left the room and Leo started pondering again.

"Wait... Why was the storage room closed? The last person on duty knew I had an operation scheduled..."

In the end, Leo shrugged it off since there were bigger things on his mind.

He chose not to interact with the body anymore since he would probably be questioned about it.

After a while, Lynn returned with two guards.

Leo knew the guards well since they usually guarded the medical sector.

One guard stepped up to Leo before speaking.

"I need you to come with me." said the guard.

"Why?" asked Leo.

"We have been informed of the circumstances regarding Executive agent Moris, higher up has ordered us to detain you and hold you in a cell for tonight meanwhile the coroner will research the proper cause of death, simple orders."

Leo's heart dropped upon hearing this.

"Why is this all going so fast?" asked Leo.

The guards didn't respond and moved in to detain Leo.

Leo didn't struggle and allowed himself to be detained properly and escorted towards his cell.

The cell was mostly white with a single camera in it.

"You will be released once the investigation has been completed, sorry about all of this." said the guard before locking the door.

Leo sat down on the bed in the cell and started thinking about the possible cause of death once again, but couldn't think about anything.

He continued to ponder for a while longer before laying down and falling asleep.

____________

Leo woke up to the sound of the door unlocking, he didn't know how much time had passed.

The same guard opened the door, but this time with a disgusted look on his face.

He didn't speak casually anymore but in an assertive tone.

"Follow me."

Leo obeyed and followed.

"So, what happened?" asked Leo.

A grave and hateful expression was seen on the guard's face, but he did not respond to Leo.

"Hello...?" asked Leo, prying in a casual way.

The guard quickly snapped back at him.

"Shut the fuck up, you know all too well what you have done, don't think I am dumb."

A look of surprise could be seen on Leo's face.

However, the look quickly turned into a look of fear as he asked himself what happened.

Before he could come to any kind of conclusion, he found himself in front of an interrogation room.

"Enter." spoke the guard.

Leo obeyed and entered the room.

The room was quite grim, there was a single table with two chairs on opposite sides of each other.

There was a one-sided window separating the room from a viewing room.

Furthermore, there was a single camera in the interrogation room.

A man was sitting in one of the chairs.

"Please, take a seat." said the man in a friendly tone.

Leo shot a wary expression at the man before sitting down on the chair.

"Let's start this off quickly, Leo, do you have any idea why you are here?"

Leo gave his genuine answer.

"I truly have no idea."

The man sighed before responding.

"Leo, you are being suspected of the assassination of executive agent Moris."
