5 Court

"Case 417-A, doctor Leo is being accused of assassinating executive agent Moris." said the side judge.

"Prosecutor, what sentence do you demand?" asked the overseer.

"Your honor, we demand that doctor Leo will get a year-long class-D sentence, after a year he is allowed to appeal."

"Prosecutor, please provide your evidence."

"Gladly, lets start with the cause of death.

Agent Moris has died of cyanide poisoning, at our current site there is no cyanide located except bio lab alpha.

Recently we have checked the camera footage but it didn't pick up any images, however it did pick up audio. Allow me to present this evidence." said the prosecutor before having the footage displayed on a TV.

Once again, Leo cursing could be heard.

"How utterly vile." said the overseer.

"Defense, how will you counter this proof?" asked the side judge.

Leo's appointed attorney stepped forward.

"Your honor, my client has stated multiple times that he has no idea how the audio was caught and he claims not to have been in the bio lab."

"Is that all?" asked the side judge.

"Yes."

"Prosecutor, what more evidence do you have to show?"

"Well, during the multiple interviews we held, doctor Leo's answers have been all over the place, we suspect that he is lying because of this."

Leo couldn't keep his cool anymore and stepped forward.

"That's fucking bullshit! You practically interviewed me 24/7 with barely any sleep! Each time I fell asleep for an hour or so you fuckers would wake me up and interview me again, and you think I will be able to give you clear answers then?! Your honor, I was not treated humanely at all, this sho-"

"Do not speak unless I tell you to." said the overseer in her cold, stern voice.

Leo was baffled.

"Thank you, your honor." said the prosecutor.

Silence fell for a second as Leo's appointed attorney started sweating a bit.

"Your honor, may we call in someone to testify for Leo?" asked his attorney.

There was silence for a second of five before the overseer responded.

"Yes, who would you like to call in?"

"We would like to call in Leo's assistant, Lynn."

Leo let out a sigh of relief upon hearing that Lynn would be summoned, she would be able to testify for him.

Lynn stepped up the witness stand before the prosecutor spoke.

"Your honor, would you mind if we ask some questions first before the defense does?"

"Granted, go ahead." said the overseer.

"Thank you."

Leo was baffled, how could the overseer allow this so casually? They requested Lynn to testify after all.

"Lynn, how long have you been working alongside of doctor Leo?" asked the prosecutor.

"Well, since doctor Leo has been working here since he turned nineteen, that would be five years." said Lynn.

"So that would mean you have plenty of experience working with him and know him very well, right?"

"Yes, I guess so."

"Has Leo been acting differently lately?"

Lynn was in thought for a while before responding.

"Now that you mention it, yeah. He has been very distant and mysterious lately."

Leo was shocked beyond belief.

Lynn was practically testifying against him and once again, despair started seeping in.

"Lynn, have you seen Leo doing anything suspicious lately?"

Lynn answered quickly.

"Yes, recently he said he would be right back and that he had to go pick something up from the bio lab, when he returned I asked him what he had to pick up and he was very vague about it, dodging the topic."

"Now for your final question from me and most importantly, do you personally think Leo did it?"

A conflicted expression appeared on Lynn's face.

"Yes, I think he did."

"That is all, your honor."

Leo's eyes became dull and teary, why did this have to happen to him?

He dedicated his entire career to the foundation, right from when he finished his education and he was picked up.

"Defence may now question Miss Lynn."

Leo's attorney wanted to step forward but was quickly stopped by Leo.

"What is it?" asked the attorney quietly.

Leo, however, wasn't so quiet.

"Don't bother questioning her, she is a lying bitch."
