17 Becoming Hawk

Leo let out a sigh of relief after killing the sniper.

Luckily, his fluke worked.

Leo didn't have enough time to think about a proper plan and realized that so he had to take a risk.

He made sure to make a mental note to not take such a risk any time soon again.

Leo looked at the sniper's corpse and tried to save it in a shapeshifting slot just to be met with an error.

[Unable to save William "Hawk" Smith's body due to all slots being full.]

Leo tried it again just to be met with the same error.

In the next second, Leo heard Sogrith's voice.

[I will grant you an extra slot for now, try again.]

Leo obeyed and tried again before getting a confirmation that it had worked.

[William "Hawk" Smith's body has been saved.]

Leo assumed that Hawk was his codename as he shapeshifted into him.

Leo stripped hawk from his clothing but quickly realized there was another problem.

Because of Leo's attack, there was an obvious hole in the clothing that Hawk was wearing.

Leo started doubting his plan.

"Sogrith, you sure it isn't better for me to just run?" thought Leo.

[No, and besides, if you manage to kill all the operatives I will give you a reward, not to mention that you will save the village.]

"Save the village? It isn't like they would attack it to start with, and wouldn't they just send reinforcements if their agents suddenly go missing in action?" responded Leo.

[If you follow my steps I will ensure you that the village will be safe from all operatives and such]

Leo was hesitant at first since Sogrith liked to play mental games with him, but in the end, he trusted him.

Up next Leo had to tackle the hold on the clothing from Hawk, the sniper.

Leo quickly found a way to hide the hole by simply putting the body armor over it, that way the hole wasn't visible.

Leo simply dumped Hawk's body in a bush.

"Food for the bears." thought Leo.

Once he had the tactical armor and clothes from Hawk on he heard the radio go off.

"Eleven to Hawk, status report."

A smile appeared on Leo's face as he picked up the radio.

He struggled with the radio for a while until he found out how to communicate.

Leo held the button as he spoke

"Hawk to Eleven, I cannot confirm that the suspect is in the village, what will be the rendezvous point?" said Leo into the radio.

"Stay at your current location, we will be there ASAP. ETA 40 minutes."

"Copy, Eleven. Hawk out."

Leo turned his radio off and decided to hide the body away a bit further.

While hiding the body Leo got a sudden thought.

"Wait, how the hell did they know where I already am?" thought Leo.

It could be possible that the position had been agreed on before sending Hawk out, but Leo didn't think so.

However, Leo quickly realized how they knew as he thought back on his time as a surgeon for the foundation.

Most MTF operatives had some kind of tracker in their neck, that way their position could always be determined.

Luckily for Leo that tracker didn't track vitals or he would be properly fucked.

Leo quickly crouched down before Hawk's naked body as he transformed one of his fingers into a scalpel-like blade.

He felt around Hawk's neck and applied pressure until he found a lump.

Luckily for Leo, it wasn't near an artery so he wouldn't be covered in blood once he removed the tracker.

He inserted his scalpel and quickly cut out a piece of skin so that he could pull the tracker out.

Once Leo pulled out the tracker he put it in one of his pockets and walked away.

Once Leo was done with the entire ordeal he made a quick campfire.

After a couple of tries, he finally got the fire lit and sat down beside it.

The fire was quite cozy since it tended to get quite cold at night.

As Leo sat beside the fire he murmured a couple of words.

"The pieces are set, it is now time to execute my play," said Leo while a smile appeared on his face.
