Chapter 4

Louis was assigned with a new task and it's deadline was the same as the Duke had announced.

"I will send Prince Sebastian and Princess Elena to the eastern part of the kingdom to the City of Plume"

City of Plume - A city which was famous for thieves and the people there were very poor and a large part was covered by forest.

Then the Duke again spoke that "I will send Prince Luther and Princess Alissa to the western part of the kingdom to the City of Sleepless Nights"

City of Sleepless Nights - In this city the people never sleeps the famous cassino of the kingdom were all present there the people there treated women very harshly.

Louis was also paying attention to every information as he didn't know which one he will require and when.

"As I had already told that you that the competition will being on 18th of this month, you should set off for your destination today evening to be there on time, as I have already discussed in details about everything go and prepare for your departure"

Everyone left from the assembly hall and the news spread far and wide and soon everyone came to know about it. Alissa went to have a talk with her brother Luther.

"Brother, can I come in, this is Alissa"

"Yes, come in"

"Brother, I came to talk to you about the decision father made in the morning assembly"

"Go ahead"

"Do you think that we will be able to develop the cities there?"

"Let's go and see for ourself the situation and then we will talk about it"

"Oh... Ok...well brother do you want to take the throne?"

Luther was quite for some time, the look on his face would make anyone think that he has other intentions and then he told

"Let's not think about it and let's do what father has assigned us to do"

"ok brother, then I shall go and prepare"

Alissa went to her room and the maids helped her to pack everything as they had to set off this evening.

Louis saw how hurriedly they prepared for everything and Alissa had took Louis with herself as she didn't want it to kept back here.

Later in the evening before setting off the siblings met for the last time as the next time when they would meet they might be each others enemy for the throne.

Sebastian said, "Good luck may you work together and achieve the goal father has assigned us to do"

Elena told, "Alissa behave when you are with Luther don't make him worry about you"

The journey to the east that is the city of plume would take 2 days and 1 night and the journey to the west that is City of Sleepless Nights would take 1 day and 1 night.

Many guards were arranged to go with the prince and the princess. More than 5 carriage for each prince and princess were prepared and everyone in the capital was looking forward to there departure.

After talking to each other the prince and princess were ready for there departure and went in there respective carriage. The journey was a long one moving from one city to another sometimes resting in the forest. At last after a journey of 1 day and 1 night they reached the City of Sleepless Nights.

It was around 9pm at night when they reached the city and it was almost time when people go to sleep but as the name of the City suggest City of Sleepless Nights the city was still lively people were energetic.

Alissa watched everything from outside the window. The people there knew the Prince and Princess would come here but they believed they they would not change and remain the same and did not pay any attention to them.

The palace had arranged for them to stay in The Golden River Inn. In the faint light of the moon the Inn looked beautiful and since it was dark they were unable to recognize the other parts of the Inn.

Princess Alissa was arranged to live in the western courtyard of Golden River Inn and Prince Luther was arranged to live in eastern courtyard of Golden River Inn. After a long and tiring jounery they had dinner and went to there respective rooms to have rest for the night as from the next day they had to do a lot of work.

The next morning Alissa was woken up by the chirping of the birds, she was very excited to explore the The Golden River Inn. The maids helped her to quickly get ready and she went out on her alone.

The Golden River Inn had many rooms, there was a pond and it was filled with lotus, the garden had different types of flowers and some Alissa was seeing for the first time, after walking around for a while she went in the main hall her brother was also present there.

Before entering the main hall she went back to the room and took Louis with her. As she entered the main hall she saw there were already many people present, she went and sat beside Luther.

Butler Casper spoke, "Your highness since you came in late at night we were unable to introduce ourselves so we will do it now"

"Sure, very well" Luther replied.

"I'm Butler Casper, I'm in charge of everything in the Golden River Inn you can ask me anything related to the Inn or the city" After finishing he bowed in front of Alissa and Luther.

After Casper introduced himself, two men in heavy armoury came forward.

"Your highness, I'm Niger, I'm assigned by the Duke to assist Prince Luther" and bowed in front of Alissa and Luther.

"Your highness, I'm Norman, I'm assigned by the Duke to assist Princess Alissa" and bowed in front of Alissa and Luther.

"You may all rise" Luther ordered.

"Niger, since you have been assigned by my father to accompany me, I want you to be loyal to me until the end, do you understand" Luther remarked.

"Your highness, I shall be loyal to you until the end, if I break my promise you can take my life" Niger replied.

"Alissa do you have anything you want to tell Norman?"

"oh yes! brother sure I have"

"Norman, don't play tricks with me, cheat me or backstab me, be loyal to me if you don't agree with my demands you are free to leave now"

"Your highness, I agree to your request and if I don't obey you, you are free to take my life anytime" Norman replied.

Louis was listening to everything and still was unable to understand how he would help Alissa.

"Very well, then let's go and look around the city"

"Your highness, I'm afraid that the ride may not go as smooth as it seems" Casper commented.

"We will see about that, get the carriage ready we will set off after an hour, now everyone go and prepare"

"Brother, did you have breakfast, I did not have I'm so hungry" Alissa told Luther.

Louis thought, "Everyone was talking about an important matter and all this girl could think about was food"

"Go and have your breakfast, didn't you hear we have to go in an hour"

"But, brother what will I do by going there, I don't know anything, besides it's so beautiful and peaceful here"

"No you must not be sloppy and you have to come with us"

Alissa in a soft tone replied yes and went to have breakfast.

"Though father has assigned us to develop this area since we are new here we might not know who is our foe and who is our enemy, so I better keep Alissa close to me and father also might have some spies so that they can report about our progress to him" Luther thought.

After an hour everything was ready and Alissa and Luther got in the carriage and set off to look around the city. As they started to go more inside the city they saw people treating women differently, there were many cassino around and many people from distant land would come to play in those cassinos.

The people there had dark black under eyes which clearly tells that, they have been awake for more than 2 night.

In the far end of the city, there was an abandoned rock quarry, it was off no use, so they didn't pay much attention to it.

After looking around the city they got down and had lunch in a restaurant and came back to Golden River Inn.

Louis was still unable to figure out what he would do in order to complete the task.
