8 Family Reunion.

1 year later.

Hope and Alex are sitting under the trees, using them as cover from the scorching son.

Alex is deep in concentration, while Hope is drawing her brother's still figure.

A year has passed and I have had some success with spell creation. I managed to create three of the spells I saw in my dream. The first of my completed spell is derived from the spell Pertificus totalus, I read about in the book Harry Potter. The spell renders the body of the person it's used on completely paralyzed. My spell is slightly different, as I use ice magic to freeze the brain, causing the whole body to cease its functions. If the counter spell isn't used the person will eventually die or in the case of vampires they'll most likely dessicate. I can keep up the spell for as long as my magic lasts. From what I can tell it's a painful experience and results in you suffering from brain freeze like symptoms after the spell's released or has worn off. It's a really nasty spell, thus I chose to call it Cocytus.

I can't help but be surprised that I learned it that easily when I've been struggling with simple spells like conjuring a fireball. The only problem with my new spells are that they take an incredible amount of magic to cast and for Cocytus to be successful you need to be able to spend alot of magic to keep your enemies in their paralyzed state. However the weaker the enemy, the less magic it takes to keep them trapped and the stronger the enemy, the more magic it consumes to keep them trapped.

My next spell is a simple one, I call it bug spray. This spell basically makes everyone ignore me, like when you use bug spray to keep bugs away from you. It makes everyone avoid me, they can physically see me so I don't dissapear or anything, but it makes anyone who gets too close to me instantly turn away and start walking in the opposite direction. I know my naming sense isn't the best, but this last one is better I promise.

The last one's called Magic bubble. Okay I lied about it being better. Moving on... the spell creates a thin barely noticeable bubble around the user that deflects any magic thrown at it. The bubble can be made larger by using more magic. It also uses magic to sustain itself, so each time it's hit causes some of your magic to be consumed. The stronger the spell, the more magic is used to sustain the bubble. The spell is very versatile because if you're good enough with the spell, you can conjure up only part of the bubble which uses less magic but is harder to create because it takes more concentration to form. Also the shape doesn't have to be a bubble but I find the bubble the easiest shape to conjure, honestly a cube would be way more useful but I haven't succeeded in forming a cube... yet.

Those are the first three spells of many, I'm sure of it.

I've been trying to teach Hope some of these spells, but my simple minded sister is incapable of learning any right now because she never takes the lessons seriously and I don't think she has sufficient magic within her. I don't mind though, because as long as I'm around, I'll make sure to protect her but I want her to be able to protect herself aswell. I'm sure as we get older that she'll learn eventually. In the mean time I'll make sure to stay by her side and keep her safe.

"Why can you never take our lessons seriously?" I ask my sister as I sit still trying to improve my mastery over my magic bubble spell. I'm trying to make it consume less magic, but nothing I try is working.

"Because this is more fun." Hope answers casually.

I roll my eyes. "You'll regret not taking it serious in the future, you need to learn to protect yourself."

"I have you and mommy to protect me." Hope answers casually.

Well one day we might not be here, but I'll let it be for now. "You're right." I smile at my naive sister. Sometimes I honestly wonder if I was actually born first and Hope second but I know the truth, she's my older sister.

"Is your drawing done?" I ask, deciding to give up with my training, I'm not getting anywhere.

"Hold still for a few more seconds, I'm almost done." Hope orders in a bossy tone.

"Yes mam." I comply and just enjoy the cool gentle breeze while sitting under a tree.

After about 20 more minutes Hope had finally finished her drawing.

"Let me see it." I ask for the drawing.

Hope flips her sketchbook and shows me the picture. "How is it?" She asks nervously.

I'll be honest, it isn't the perfect picture but it's quite good considering her age. "Looks exactly like me Hope, good job." I praise her and give her a hug.

"Thanks." Hope hugs me back with a big smile on her own.

"Now let's get something to eat, I'm starving.

Night came quickly and as expected Hope snuck into my room.

"Alex can we sleep together?" Hope asks shyly.

I sigh inwardly, honestly why does she even bother to ask. I open my blankets, "Get in Sis."

A pleased smile spreads across Hope's lips as she jumps into my bed. Hope makes herself comfortable with no hesitation and quickly falls asleep, with me following quickly after.

Niklaus and Hayley Pov.

"Let's go to Hope's room first." Hayley says and leads Niklaus to her room.

"How have they been for the last five years?" Niklaus asks, curious about their children.

"Hope's been really good, she loves art just like you." Hayley has a big smile on her face as she tells Niklaus.

A smile also creeps onto Nikauses face, he's pleased that his daughter loves art. He already plans on teaching her many things.

"What about Alexander?" Niklaus asks.

Hayley's smile drops slightly. "Alex only woke up last year. For four years he was in a deep coma, I tried everything to get him to wake up but nothing worked but he eventually woke and I was so happy, relieved, scared that he might go into a coma again. Luckily he was healthy for the most part." Hayley says melancholic.

Hayley's smile becomes brighter again. "Alex seems to love magic, and is always practicing very hard. He's even tried creating spells but I'm not sure if he's succeeded. He has his own grimoir but won't let me see what's inside." Hayley chuckles remembering how protective he is over his little book.

Niklaus remembers when Alexander collapsed and that was probably the scariest moment of his life, seeing his son looking so lifeless. Niklaus is just thankful that his son is awake and he can't wait too meet both his children.

When they reach Hope's room, both Hayley and Klaus are surprised to find it empty.

"Oh she must be in Alex's room. Those two are always together, and Hope seems to enjoy sneaking into Alex's room and sleeping on his bed with him. I think she's afraid he might not wake up again or maybe she's just lonely." Hayely smiles sadly. Hayely knows she wasn't around Hope much for the last five years because she always dissapeard, in order to look for cures for their family.

The walk into Alex's room to find him and Hope sleeping cuddled up with each other.

Klaus can't help but be reminded of him and Rebekah. They were inseparable as children and he's glad his children have the same closeness as him and Rebekah had, without his family he knows he would've become an even more monstrous beast then what he already is.

"Should I wake them for you?" Hayley asks.

Klaus looks at his two children

Klaus doesn't want to ruin this picture of perfection in front of him, just being able to see them again after five years is enough. "No." Klaus shakes his head. "Let them sleep, I'll talk to them tomorrow."

Klaus hadn't taken his eyes off the twins since he arrived in the room. Klaus can't remember the last time he was this content. In 1000 years on this Earth, this may be the happiest moment of his existence.

"Okay." Hayley smiles seeing Klause stare tenderly at their children, she can see the love he has for them in his eyes and that just warms her heart, especially since it's coming from Niklaus Mikaelson of all people.
