Dick raised his knife, striking swiftly. Mary was suddenly overwhelmed, her consciousness fading as she slumped to the ground, unconscious. Dick then secured her in a corner of the room, his movements methodical and precise.

The room was dimly lit, the only light filtering in through small, grimy windows. The air was thick with the smell of damp wood and stale air. Dick surveyed the room, his eyes lingering on Mary's motionless form. He needed to be sure she was truly alone here, that there were no hidden threats.

Outside, the night was settling in, casting long shadows across the courtyard. Dick called out to the goblin imp, his voice echoing slightly in the still air. "Imp, I've planted your favorite banana flowers outside the courtyard. Keep watch and alert me to any movement."

The goblin imp, upon hearing about the treat, squealed with delight, a high-pitched, eerie sound, and dashed out of the wooden house.
