Destruction of the Olympians Part 8: The End of Athens
(General POV)
Location the God of War World-Athens/Greece, the Burning Capital City of the Realm
Ares and Khorne were once again clashing blade, with the weaker and more winded aggressor being Ares.
The God of War, tried to attack low at Khorne's right leg only for a crimson and black hellfire chain to coil rapidly around Khorne's form, as well as his leg blocking the incoming attack of Ares.
This pleased and impressed the Blood God as the new artifact that has bounded to him, by total coincidence was proving to be quite useful to him, he simply name this new artifact the Chains of Wrath, he sensed the growing anger, hatred, and frustration coming from his opponent, Ares.
He yelled at the Blood God, as he tries to burn Khorne with the flames of War, pure red flame burst fort from Ares stretched open hand.
The magical flame covered the whole form of the Blood God, as Ares smiled believing he was finally hurting his accursed opponent...only for a blackish red, gauntlet to emerge from the flame and punch Ares across the face.
The punch was strong enough to launch Ares away, and smash into several buildings completely destroying them.
As the God of War spat blood from the side of his mouth, he looked at the undamaged form of Khorne with his outstretched left arm, his blackish red armor barely was sizzling from the previous fire.
Khorne only feed off the primary power that fuel those flames, that Ares shot at him and magic as much as he utterly loutes it, listening to his older brother's advise to familiarize and learn of it has aided him, in making natural resistances to magical attacks of the lores of Fire, and Metal, which despite Ares being from another world those were his primary means of magic.
Ares stood up and again pointed his spiked blade at Khorne before rushing back into vicious and glorious melee.
At another part of the slowly being destroyed, Athens.
The prime worshiped Olympian, Lady Athena was engaged in battle with the Gorequeen, with her having a huge disadvantage in the duel.
Losing her shield and the wounds she has suffered has greatly affected Athena, as she performed a three attack swing, combination against Valkia.
Two side to side slashes following a full-spin wide slash which the Wife of Khorne easily side-stepped all three attacks.
The Gorequeen responded with a misdirection of her spear swing, spinning behind Athena and slashing her cross the back, causing her enemy to scream and bleed, then as Athena stumbled in a few steps Valkia continued her attack by striking her slaaneshi made great daemonshield onto the Goddess of Wisdom's back and aside from the blow the mouth bit onto Athena's back.
Again she screamed as she felt the knife like teeth pierce into her back, then she felt herself being lifted as her feet separated from the ground, and Valkia lifted over her head and with a wicket smile, the Gorequeen commanded her shield to tightened her grip onto her victim.
Valkia was being washed in Godblood over herself, with a powerful kick-off the ground and her wings spread wide she flew straight up to the sky, once the Gorequeen reached a great height she turned pointing Athena to earth as she shot straight down!!
As Athena struggle to free herself from the maw of Valkia's shield and escape the oncoming blow, only for Valkia to surprisely release her opponent some distance from the ground, said distance didn't allow a chance for Athena to correct or brace for the fall, as she smashed hard against the city, causing the whole city to rumble Athena was stumbling a bit as she stood slightly only to be smashed hard in her spine, she felt her back being broken as Valkia stomped on Athena's back through a free-fall dive.
Valkia stood on her broken opponent as Athena lost all feeling and control over her body, with a smirk Valkia stepped off the broken Lady of Athens, as she could hear the cries and wails of the humans as they watched their beloved Goddess was beaten and unmoving.
Standing beside her Athena, grunted and moan in stress and helplessness as she tried desperately to make her body move...but it was futile she was crippled.
As Valkia kicked Athena at the side of her stomach causing her to gasp, while she didn't feel the blow or pain, her body still reacted to being hit in the belly as Athena body was forcibly rolled to her back, with a large crash and impact as several buildings were destroyed by Athena's cripple form.
Valkia smashed the pummel of her spear next to her as she looked down at her beaten opponent, Valkia smile as she spoke, "Soo much for the famed, and loved Goddess of War. Bellona deserves that honor and glory." Valkia paused as she looked at the burning and more destroyed city, and kept on talking, "Ohh I see. Your a coward. You govern War to prevent it, Athena you disgust me and shame what it means to be a warrior, and a God of War."
Valkia rised her spear again, to smash her pummel again onto the ground open a breach of blood red, a portal for the Blood Daemons in the Warp to cross over to the world.
Leading this humongous legion were the Elder Daemons of Blood, Skarbrand, Zsach, Wrath, and...Kratos when Athena saw her half-brother, not only in his current form (daemonic state from Chapter 274) with a face of a Bloodthirster with crimson eyes and a fire made mane around his neck, large horns, a thick beard, black clawed nails and Ares' weapons the Blades of Chaos on his hand and their chains wrapped around his arms.
Kratos yelled out, "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GODS!!!! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONES!!!!! BURN THIS CITY IN THE NAME OF OUR DARK GODS!!!!!!" as the Daemon of Sparta said that, his brother Elder Daemons joined in as well as their daemon kin.
As they stormed through the remnants of Athens, with Kratos butchering everyone in his path with gore butchers and goristros joining his slaughter.
Skarbrand kicked a poor weak guard's head off as he smashed his twin axes onto a group of Athenians burning and crushing them as he was joined by bloodletters and bloodthirsters killing everything, and harvesting countless skulls.
Zsach the four armed Elder Balrog daemon was leading his Balrogs in ravishing the city, also accompanying them were the daemonic elementals, the Brass Talos using their arm cannons, or flamethrowers, or massive spiked maces to destroy and burn everything and everyone, and as the brass talos rain destruction and flame all discarded metal, weapons, and armors were assimilate by the elementals of Khorne becoming larger and stronger.
Wrath was smashing his clawed gauntlet over and over on the ground causing some devastating shockwaves and pulses of reddish crimson to destroy all caught in range, as he laughed and enjoyed the violence and conflict caused by his meer presence, as the humans weren't only fighting and killing the daemons with him but each other as well!!!
He praised Khorne and Valkia as he split his massive sword into two and cleaved through all the humans and unfortunate daemons that were in the way of his blades.
All the while Athena watched helplessly in horror at what is happening to her city and mortal followers.
Hunting down and killed like animals, not only that the breach still open was pouring in the influence and corruption of the Blood Lands onto Athens, as the humans were falling into the thralls of bloodlust, anger, and conflict as Athens was becoming apart of the domain of the Blood God.
Athena heard Valkia talk again, "This is what it means to survive, to live and grow stronger, to forsake weakness and morality, for courage, honor, and combat. THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A GOD OF WAR!!!!!" Athena scrapped her teeth together in anger and utter hatred against Valkia, wishing to be able to stand and fight...but she was crippled, useless unless her father saves her, which is highly unlikely during this war.
That's when she heard rumbling, she turned her eyes to where Bellona was laying and noticed movement, her sister was coming to, if she can maintain Valkia's attention then Bellona can return to the fight without issue, as Athena turned her sights on Valkia that was watching the carnage and bloodshed occurring all over Athens.
Meanwhile Khorne and Ares were still clashing swords...or more accurately it was Ares trying to overpower and break through the Blood God's defenses.
With another slice send by Ares, only for Khorne wrapping the God of War's blade and right arm with his Chains of Wrath surging his daemonic power through the chain, causing the chain to become a more intense crimson and blazing with hellfire, burning and crushing Ares' arm completely.
Ares' arm burned, and smoke as a loud snap echoed in the area, and bone broke out his black, dark flesh with pieces of his armor being pierced and burn into the arm currently wrapped by Khorne's new chains.
Ares screamed in utter pain, forced to release his spiked sword.
Khorne then commanded his chains to bend the broken arm behind the Olympian's back, no matter the force Ares tried to muster and use his arm was bend roughly and brutally, until it snapped and broke again bathing his back in his own blood.
Screaming more as the pain on his arm was unbearable not only did it burn but the surge of pain was equal if not more than the burning occurring on his arm.
But then that same chain that once belong to him, burning in flames and heat that could be at the same intensity of the Sun, stretched out and wrapped around his neck, choking and not burning him but still...with one arm mutilated, and used to hold as a torture method, as any movement or force he used on the chain would case the chain to move or tightened around his right, broken arm.
That's when Khorne grip the chain around the neck of Ares, hoisting him up, as he began to punch and smash Ares face and head over and over.
Drenching the Blood God and the entire area in blood, splattering more blood after every blow and smash that Khorne did to Ares.
After a while of beating the weak, lesser God, the Blood God lifted his beaten and barely conscious opponent to his eye-level and deliver a face busting headbutt, right into Ares' head cracking his skull, as Khorne retrieve his chain and kicked away the beaten Ares.
Khorne watched his fallen prey, barely able to move struggle to get away from him, that's when Khorne spotted Ares' discarded blade stuck to the ground and rubble, it pulsate with bloodlust and hungers for battle, as it was calling out to the Blood God...intrigued, Khorne walked up to the blade placing his left hand onto the handle of the sword, it burst with power bounding with Khorne accepting him as it one true and eternal master.
As the Blood God, inspect the spiked crimson, greatsword he felt that his Unmaker was calling out to the new sword, then the former sword of Ares did the same to the Unmaker.
Seeing clearly what his swords desire he channeling his dark divine power through them, and cause them both to burst in deep red color, as Khorne smashed both swords together merging them into a greater blade!!
In a burst of red energy that was surging with hatred, anger, bloodlust, and violence shrouded the entirety of Athens, as the Unmaker changed completely in Khorne's hands as they now instead to have one sword in each, both clawed gauntlets were holding onto the longer black and blood red handle that has a red brass Khorne Sigil as a pummel, as blade became massive, drastically larger and different to the Unmaker before (For reference on how this new Unmaker blade appears like picture the Glam from Soulcalibur Siegfried with the runes khornate style and the edges having blood red sharp spikes, but not the same length as Siegfried's sword instead is more like Soki from Onimusha more heavier swords.) it was black with bright red edge and spikes at the edge of the blade, highly resembling a shorter broad-zweihandle blade.
Khorne inspected the blade as it bared several dark red, glowing runes of blood, as he looked lower of the blade, at the cross guard resembling red and black eight-point star with a ram horned, fanged skull held in the center of the eight-points ring, the eyes of the skulls ignited in hellfire.
Khorne was overjoyed his Unmaker has become much more powerful and truly a weapon that can destroy worlds with one swipe, Khorne laughed in a deep, masculine sounding voice filled with joy and malice.
He swipe his upgraded blade in the air, releasing a intense torrent of hellfire from it edge, smiling behind his helmet, Khorne returned his attention to the barely crawling Ares.
Khorne lowered his Unmaker, and started to calmly walked up to his target, like a predator stalking his wounded prey.
Once beside the beaten and bleeding Ares, Khorne reached down at Ares picking up the God of War by the back of his neck with his left hand.
All the while, all of Athens was suffering either falling into the bloody thrall of the Blood God, or falling victims to the daemonic legions of the Dark God.
Athena was trying to get Valkia attention...but all the Goddess of Wisdom, gained was the Gorequeen's growing ire that she stomped and crushed Athena's right ankle, if Athena wasn't crippled at the moment she'd be screaming in utter agony.
But Athena thought it was all worth it as Bellona finally stood up, and picked up her warhammer, just when she believed that they could have a chance of still surviving this battle she saw the Blood God coming towards them, dragging a badly wounded Ares and wielding a much more menacing and powerful sword.
She saw her sister turn towards Khorne, and thought Bellona was going to fight against Khorne...but instead what Bellona did shock and crushed all hope within Athena.
Bellona spun her warhammer placing the hammerhead onto the ground and taking a knee while having her hands on the hammer's pummel, and she pledge alligence to Khorne, this meant that Bellona has betrayed Olympus and Zeus, and in turn damned Athens to ruin.
Pleased Khorne accepted her into his service, and gifted her with her first blessing the power of blood and conflict turning Bellona's eyes blood red and utterly changing her magic and aura to pure blood color.
Grateful as Khorne instructed his new Olympian servent to join the battle and slaughter of the people of Athens, with a wicket smile Bellona shrunk down and rushed into the flames and screams, Bellona has never felt this incredible plus she was chosen by a worthy man to claim her, as she spotted her first victim and crushed the mortal with her hammer.
Valkia walked up to her husband, copping her right cheek and Khorne open his helmet's mouth piece revealing his razor sharp-teeth of his Diablo like face and kissed his beloved wife, they're teeth cutting slightly into one another mouths causing blood to drip from their respected mouth.
Breaking their kiss, she wiped her blood from Khorne face as she shrunk down to join the battle and masscre that their legion, is causing allover Athens, as the Gorequeen enter the killing field her daughters the Blood Valkyries and the Bleeding Banshees join her in her slaughter-spree.
Alone Khorne closed his helmet and return his attention to the two beaten and helpless Olympians before him.
Starting with Khorne still limply hanging in his grasp, Khorne lifted him up almost displaying what he was to do for all to see.
While still in the air, Khorne tightened his grip around the back of Ares' neck holding him straight, as he rised his newly upgraded blade and in one quick thrust, stabbed Ares through the back and the Unmaker bursted out the War God's chest bathing the area in Godblood, as Ares spat up blood and gasped for air.
The Blood God's blade while impaled through Ares it also pierce into Ares' soul, as Khorne began to utterly drain the God of War of his power and the divinities that he was targeting.
While this was happening Ares spasmed, twitch, and let out wet choking screams, he felt his very being torn out from him, as he turn withered grey color and tone, and after a while he slack and went completely limp.
The divinities of [Bloodshed & Battlelust] that once belonged to Ares are now in the Blood God's essence and divine dominion, as the Blood God felt his connection and divine rule over these divinities within his very essence, as he pulled out Unmaker from Ares chest causing a geyser of blood to burst out of the husk of Ares, completely drained of his Godly essence and some of his divinities stripen/taken from him, Khorne stood at the side of the kneeling unresponsive Ares.
Holding his Unmake near Ares' neck he said, "Rejoice that at least your skull, shall serve as a great trophy for the Blood God!!!" drawing back his blade before swinging it at full force and beheading the infamous God of War, as Khorne has won and Ares head fell near Athena own face, she was overwhelmed by terror and panic after watching what has happened to her rival/brother.
Panicking she barely registered that Khorne was now standing next to her, as he reached down and pick up Ares head, the Blood God tossed the head through the breach to later clean and display on the Skull Throne, as he now was after Athena's [Warcraft] divinity which will now be his.
