Chain Fences

I think they finally might be after me. there are cops outside the building I just came out of. It's hard to say if me plugging in was what actually brought them there or if they were tracking me. Regardless I should move. I have several days of battery it shouldn't be too hard to just walk.

I knew that there was some sort of road that connected the scrapyard to the road system. My best bet of finding a good way out of here would be to find that.

I walked to the scrap yard and started walking around the perimeter. I had to walk for like 2 hours before I saw the road. Although that doesn't mean finding the road was good news. there were 2 fences one 1 meter tall wire fence and a 4-meter tall razorwire with cameras every 30 meters I also wouldn't be surprised if it was electrified especially with the smaller fence only 5 meters away. If I wanted to get out of this area I'd need some other way. I scaled the dilapidated fence to the scrapyard.

My best bet was probably finding a garbage truck and hitching a ride hidden inside it.

Although that's definitely easier said than done. If they were willing to put so much effort into the fence then it wouldn't be easy to get out no matter what I do. I think I might have a half-decent chance with the garbage though.

I started walking toward the facility the garbage trucks went to.

It was a huge building that had a fence just as high surrounding it as the road did. However, this fence couldn't go around the whole building and couldn't be electrified so the security was definitely worse. The cameras were still there though.

I think the best thing I could do to get out would be to wait until dark. It would be hard for the cameras to spot me and any heat imaging camera wouldn't work.

It will be almost 9 hours before it's dark enough though and I also need a way to hide in the compound until it's light out.

I'll look for anything I can use for that in the meantime.

One thing I find strange about the scrapyard is that there's no newer technology. most of the technology that I've seen so far is just the same technology that I knew of already. While my body is clearly made up of technology far more advanced.

In addition, the way I was programmed must've included using a real human's memories, or that at least seems like the way I did it based on my own memories. That means it's likely that there's a bunch of AI going around that are practically the same as me. The technology to do that must've cost a shit ton and they used it for as far as I can see sex work.

How disgusting and repulsive. What a sick society it enrages me that something like this would be allowed. The only thing that's holding my anger back is that there's actually still a decent chance that I was enslaved by a criminal syndicate of some other criminal organization.

This is the big reason why I want to leave. I'll have a better grasp of the society I'm in after leaving these slums.

I can worry more about what I'm going to do in the future after I know more about what kind of society and how messed up it actually is. The slums don't bode well but it could be an unavoidable problem of overpopulation even if that seemed unlikely when I was alive. It's possible global warming heated the world up and many resources were lost as a result.

I decided to focus all my attention on finding things now. After 6 hours of looking, I didn't have much to show for it. I found a roll of the fabric where 90% had been used up, a pen and 16 batteries of all shapes and sizes some actual batteries and some lithium-ion batteries, and another that looked like it could be a solid-state battery which was only for luxury products in my memory like high-end cars and some cell phones.

I also found 2 pieces of a pennyboard. I've never skated before and I still know that I can't put them back together but they could be useful for something else.

I kept searching when I found something that I might be able to use to legitimately help me a flat head screwdriver. It would be good for prying anything off and possibly unscrewing something. Although it was relatively large soI probably can't work on anything small with it. This isn't too big of a concern right now though.

The pockets on my coats were getting full and it was almost dusk so I decided to start scoping out exactly how I was going to go in.

Looking at it I saw a couple of ways of going about it.

1) Climb the fence and avoid detection until morning and then hitch a ride on an outgoing truck before it leaves. The best way I think I could accomplish this is by going on to the roof and jumping on top of one of the trucks as it leaves.

The Cons would be it could be hard to avoid detection and there was a risk it gets shut down till I'm found.

2) I could go to where they push the trash out and try to go in through one of the doors and steal a truck or steal a uniform and pretend to work there and escape. 2 kinda sucks honestly there will be people who see me and I'd have to fight them. The only pro is that it would definitely get me out but the huge problem is that it would attract tons of attention and cause a possible crisis.

Overall definitely a backup plan and probably a terrible one at that. Maybe posing as a worker has promise but I don't know enough about workplace culture and the community could be tight-knit so it runs into problems quickly.

So now I have to figure out where to climb the fence. The fence is the same height all around but I think the best place is the fence right next to where they eject the trash from the building. This is to limit my time inside the fence of the compound with nowhere to hide.

I was finally ready to escape and find out how to right the wrongs against me.
