Choosing to be reborn into the world of Naruto, a young man sets out on a journey for peace in his own way. Expect my take on a realistic depiction of this world with blood and all, NO HAREM. This isn't my main story just a side project I'm doing to relax so be aware of that. I don't own the Naruto brand/series or the cover art, if you own either and want this story/cover removed just speak up and it will be done.

CHAPTER START---

"If this goes bad I'm just gonna leave," Jin says as he and Ino walk through Konoha toward her home in the Yamanaka compound.

"No, you're staying, this is important so just be a team player for one night here," her voice was firm, unmoving.

"Fine fine, just this once."

"That's all I'm asking for, it's only one dinner anyway," she takes his hand as they enter her clan compound.

Quickly arriving at her home, Ino doesn't hesitate to open the door to the traditional home before announcing herself.

"MOM! DAD! We're here!" she loudly calls out.

Immediately Inoichi rounds the corner from the other room, a wide smile on his face as he sees his daughter, only for his face to stall for a moment before his eyes narrow at Jin.

"And here we go, hi there..." Jin gives a small wave with a strained smile.

"Jin Satsujin, I've wanted to meet you for a while now," Inoichi approaches them in the hallway, his eyes never leaving Jin's visor.

"So I've heard," Jin gives him a small grin while reaching out to offer a handshake, only for his hand to hang there awkwardly.

"Play nice," Ino grits out at both of them, Inoichi reluctantly shakes the young man's hand, "alright I'm gonna see if mom needs help with dinner, keep it civil."

As she walks away, Inoichi silently turns around and leads Jin to the living room.

"Take a seat, need a drink?" the man moves to grab a bottle of Sake and some cups.

"No thanks, I don't drink."

"Figured you'd enjoy a good drink considering your...experience, in the field," the man sits in a single seat while Jin takes a place on the couch.

"I don't like the taste, and I rather stay sharp you know, this is a nice house, expected more flowers honestly," he points out the one vase of flowers on the coffee table between them.

"The back yard is surrounded by a garden, all the flowers you could want, Ino and I have been growing it since she could walk," the man smiles as he takes a sip of his drink.

"Hmm, yeah that makes sense, from what I know you two are really close."

"Mhm, always have been, but things have been changing for the last few years..." his voice became a bit lower as he side-eyed Jin, the redhead doesn't react at all to the change, in fact, he leans back comfortably against the couch and stretches out.

"Uh-huh, and I assume that's on me?"

"Not at first, when she began training with Lady Tsunade for a while she neglected her clan jutsu for medical jutsu. But then she did a complete 180," Inoichi can't help the wide grin on his face, he looked like the proud father he always was when talking about his baby girl.

"Uh-huh, but I'm guessing that's not the end right."

"She started training harder than ever before. Stopped caring about boys, at the time I thought my prayers were answered, her arsenal expanded to elemental jutsu and more taijutsu, I assumed it was all because of her rivalry with Sakura, but then after a year, I find out it was, for something else," his eyes narrow at Jin once more.

"You're welcome for that," Jin smirks at the man.

"Mhm, I'd be thanking you if you didn't STEAL MY BABY GIRL FROM ME!" the man yells before he downs his small cup of Sake.

"DAD STOP IT!" a shout comes from somewhere else in the house.

Inoichi grumbles as he pours himself another drink.

"I didn't steal Ino, she's not a thing to be stolen. She chose her path and I just happen to be on it."

"That doesn't mean I have to like how it happened," the man grumbles back.

"Well, I'm sure you know I really don't care what anyone but her thinks about what we have, so you do you," Jin shrugs without a care in the world.

"When you have a daughter and she doesn't come home one night, only for you to find out the next morning she stayed at some disrespectful boy's house, ALONE, you'll understand how it feels," the man glares at him with all his might, a slight tinge of red on his cheeks as he downs the second cup of sake.

"You raised a smart kid, still a bratty princess sometimes but she's no dumb, stop beating yourself up and give yourself some credit, she saw what she wanted and got it," Inoichi was a bit surprised at this, Jin actually said something nice and even complimented him.

"Mmmm, I suppose she could have done a lot worse, if she were still crazy over Sasuke my hair would be grey by now," he runs a hand through his long blonde hair, longer than Ino's.

"Thankfully she isn't a fangirl anymore," Jin chuckles a bit along with the man, they share their first laugh.

"I still would of like for you to meet me BEFORE having my daughter in your bed."

"Eh, she didn't have to meet my parents," Inoichi freezes for a bit before Jin continues," sorry, bad joke, but yeah things just kind of...happened, I can't even put a timeline on the stages between her being an annoying Sasuke fangirl and where we are now...it just felt---"

"Natural, like the pieces just fell into place," Inoichi looks reminiscent as he stares down at his cup.

"Huh, guessing you went through the same thing with her mom?"

"Something like that, she was actually offered to Choza as a bride..."

"WHAT? You stole his wife?"

"Nonono, her family offered her hand to the Akimichi heir but they weren't a good match, didn't get along at all really. Our team was always together back then and eventually, she and I just got closer together. Choza was actually the one that pushed me to ask her out, they'd get all dressed up then head over to a restaurant where I'd be. She and I would have a date while he stuffed his face in another private booth, cost me a damn fortune to date her..." he grimaces at the restaurant bills.

"That'd make a pretty good book, but how'd it go when you made it public?"

"Shikaku figured out all the clan politics crap, after almost a year we got engaged and that was that, happily ever after..."

"Damn, Ino-Shika-Cho are closer than I thought, guess that thing about the Akimichi clan looking out for the Nara and Yamanaka wasn't just in terms of ninja stuff."

"Yup, in all facets of life they protect us, just like we connect them and the Naras reach out. Each clan jutsu embody this, it's what makes Ino-Shika-Cho so ideal, together we make one being."

20 Minutes later, Jin was seated around the dinner table with Ino's family to enjoy a surprisingly peaceful dinner.

"I'm glad you two are getting along, I expected this to be way worse..." the girl quietly admits.

"Your dad tends to go overboard when it comes to you dear," her mom adds, the woman having eyes just like Ino's, large and blue. Her short brown hair tied in a tight bun and her demeanor graceful.

"That explains why she always acted like a princess when we first met, guess it wasn't really her fault huh," Jin chuckles lightly as he looks at Ino, receiving a playful pout from his favorite blonde.

"Yeah well, I still get everything I want anyway so bleh," she sticks her tongue out at him," got you to come to dinner and even get along with dad after all..."

"I just wanted to make sure he wasn't some delinquent with my daughter."

"Well to be fair, I kind of am a del---," his words stop short as he freezes for a moment.

'What the hell was that about, Tsunade's chakra flared up for a moment, where is she... her office, hmmm, Kakashi with her, Guy, Ibiki...Ibiki? What the fuck, wait, something else is there, small but it has some Senjutsu chakra...Katsuyu? Maybe a toad? Too small for Ma and Pa, what, they're all moving, the senjutsu disappeared. They're coming this way, a lot of them are coming this way, the Akatsuki must be making a move nearby and they need me for a mission...sigh, more annoying bullshit, I swear if this is about Sasuke I'll lose my god damn mind. Da--'

"JIN!" Ino's shout snaps him out of his thoughts.

"Uh, huh?"

"You zoned out for a good minute there, you ok?" Inoichi asks.

"Uh, yeah yeah, I think we're about to have some guests."

"Oh, you felt Lady Tsunade coming this way too then," Inoichi states.

"Lady Hokage?" Ino's mom gasps, she wasn't expecting such an important guest.

"Why is she coming here Jin?" Ino asks, her eyes falling to the mostly faded scar on his neck, he still hadn't gotten rid of it yet.

"Probably for some big mission by the number of people I felt, Kakashi, Guy and Ibiki are with her so it has to be urgent, no Naruto so probably not some Sasuke nonsense for once...sorry if this ruins dinner everyone," he gives them an awkward smile as Tsunade and her forces arrive nearby.

*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK*

Too angry, that was his first thought when he heard Tsunade's knocks. Judging by Ino and her dad's looks they picked up on this too.

Getting up from the table the three active shinobi make their way to the entryway of the house with Ino's mom close behind them.

Ino gives him a worried look but she doesn't speak as her dad opens the door.

"Lady Hokage, welcome, I assume this is about a mission right?" the man greets her with a serious expression, seeing Kakashi and Guy standing not far behind her. Ibiki and Anbu squads are spread around the nearby houses.

"Inoichi, Jin's here, I need to speak to him," her voice was low, as if she was trying to contain herself, this didn't go unnoticed by anyone.

"Uh yeah, you need me for something Lady Hokage?" Jin asks, a tad more formal because of the people around as he walks past Inoichi toward the doorway.

"Yes, we need you, this is urgent, Kakashi, Guy?"

"We're already ready Lady Hokage," Kakashi responded for both of them, his voice was dead serious, everyone knew this mission was serious just from his tone.

"Alright then let's do this," he looks back for a moment toward Ino," sorry about having to leave but this is important, I'll make it up to you," he gives her a gentle smile before turning back to Tsunade.

*BOOM*

As he turns around he's caught completely off guard as a fist slams into the side of his head.

The Yamanaka household is completely caught off guard as Jin rockets through their hallway and into the living room, the entire house shaking, walls cracking and the room in a complete mess as if a tornado had appeared within it.

"What the fu--" Jin looks up from his spot embedded in a trench in the stone foundation of the house. Broken tiles scattered all around him and a foot crashing down on his chest.

Tsunade's eyes were all but manic as she holds a fist back ready to slam into his skull.

"Uh..." he glances to his left and right under his visor, Kakashi and Guy were already holding blades to his neck.

"Move and you die," Tsunade was pissed.
