CHAPTER 59(Immortals)

CHAPTER START---
Standing outside the bounty exchange building on a tree, Jin patiently waits cloaked in his transparency jutsu as Asuma's team takes their positions.
Shikamaru glances over at Jin for a split second, his eyes focusing on the concentrated look that seems almost unnatural on his friend. He hasn't had the pleasure of taking any official mission with Jin, he worked with team Kurenai after Jin began his own training but not before. They all operated well, but they'd sometimes mention the brutal efficiency his friend had in the field.
Kurenai would joke about how he'd never get a girlfriend if she saw how he fought, from the spars they did over the years Shikamaru would almost agree. Team Asuma would often spar with Jin, even when his sensei fought with them it always felt like Jin was shrugging off their best efforts.
It felt like he was playing with children, jounin included. This drove them to train harder, Choji focused more on his own clan jutsu and taijutsu. Ino varied her skillset and became more courageous, honing her skills and dipping into being the teams' artillery as well.
But now he saw the focus on his friend's face, this situation can go wrong very quickly if even Jin looks this worried.
While he was making his observations, Jin had his own plan to put together.
His role is to engage secondary after their first strike. He had his own agenda however, now he just had to wait for his first real opponent.
He could feel what he assumed was Hidan in the building, standing beside...a monstrosity.
His sage mode allowed him to separate the chakra sources in Kakazu's body, five distinct sources with different chakra natures. Frankenstein's monster was only a hundred meters away.
Barely 5 minutes later Hidan casually saunters out of the doorway, in an instant Hidan has two blades impaling him, and the fighting begins.
Jin isn't focusing on what Hidan blabs about. He doesn't care.
They fight, Asuma dies, Hidan gets captured hopefully...or Shikamaru gets hurt and he swoops in to save him at the end, either way, he just needs to focus on his Knight.
As Hidan is restrained and Asuma moves in for the kill, Kakazu appears behind Shikamaru, his fist missing just barely as Shikamaru sprints away from him, showtime.
Appearing between them before anyone could notice, Kakazu halts in place and jumps a few meters backward, his hollow green gaze not leaving Jin at all, looking over all the details of his face carefully.
"120 Million, you're worth a fortune..." his grumbly voice permeates the battlefield as everyone assesses what just happened.
"KAKAZU! Let me deal with these annoying guys, those assholes stabbed me, who even doesn't that kinda thing anyway?" Hidan immediately begins pulling both blades out of his torso.
"No, you deal with the bearded guy, this one's mine, he'll kill you." the bounty hunter's voice leaves no room for debate as he keeps staring at Jin.
"Hmm, you recognize me?" Jin asks, his eyes focusing beneath the visor, focusing his sensory ability on Kakazu, the five hearts that he knows are there all seem to bind into one chakra signature, the monster's good at hiding.
"Jin, 120 Million, you're one of the higher bounties in the world, you're dangerous..." Kakazu grumbles out as he drops the briefcase of money, his life was more valuable than money after all.
"Hmm, I can feel you're strong," no, he couldn't," Asuma, if this guy fights your team you'll all die, leave him to me and focus on the loudmouth," Jin raises his hands into a fighting stance,
A look of shocks takes hold of the other Konoha shinobi, this is bad, they need to deal with their target before Jin's fight is decided either way, just in case. If they have to then stalling for the 15 minutes backup would take is their emergency plan.
"Hidan, make this quick..." Kakazu gives one last command, Hidan's mouth snaps shut as he too begins taking this seriously.
*BOOM*
In an instant Jin lands a right hook to the side of Kakazu's head, he gets ragdolled hundreds of feet into the treeling leaving a shallow trench in his wake.
Shikamaru and Asuma grimace at this sight, 'He's that strong?' they both thought at once, all those sparring sessions could have ended in one hit if he wanted, the situation is worse than they thought.
With no hesitation Jin races behind Kakazu, finding the man already on his feet, his cloak shredded and exposed skin a dark black color.
"Hardened skin to survive that, cute, I'm a fan," Jin gives him a small smirk.
"Hmmm, you don't seem that worried now," Kakazu notices immediately how fast Jin went from concerned to relaxed as they moved away from the others.
"Sorry, easier to fight when fragile people aren't around," this was unlike Jin. Anyone who knew him on missions would instantly recognize this doesn't add up. He never wastes time talking, only action.
Jin was stalling, pushing his sensory abilities, he could feel Ino and Choji sprinting over in this direction, but he couldn't find the little spy, he couldn't find Zetsu.
'I know he's here somewhere, sage mode should find him, why can't I, what is he anyway...' he frustratingly thought to himself as Kakazu tears off the Akatsuki cloak.
In a flurry of blows, after revealing his monstrous form Kakazu immediately rushed forward.
The split second of shock most people fell into after seeing his body made it easy to end fights, but Jin wasn't surprised at all.
With deft motions, they both traded strikes, neither landing a hit. Jin was moving backward, not being pushed but intentionally letting Kakazu set the pace.
"How much would it cost to have you on retainer?" he casually asks while striking Kakazu, landing a palm strike to the man's chest and pushing him a few feet back.
"Hmm, you wanna hire me?"
"Mmm, how much for you to ONLY work for me?"
"More than anyone has..." Kakazu growled a response.
"Humor me," Jin smirks at him.
"10 Billion."
"Huh, guess that's the going rate for immortals nowadays huh," Jin gave him a toothy smile.
Kakazu was shocked, his eyes bulged at the casual mention of his secret jutsu.
"HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT!" he was unsettled, nobody who knew this was left alive, nobody.
"I'm a ninja, knowing things is my job, besides, I told you I'm a fan of yours. Betrayed by a country so desperately clinging to nationalism and lusting for war, you're what I'm trying to prevent, but 10 billion is a bit much, how about 3?"
"No deal, I don't know how you know that, but I can't have leaks... you're dead," Kakazu immediately began separating his hearts, only for two wind chakra enhanced kunai to pierce the earth and water hearts mid-transformation.
"I'm not gonna stand here and watch you get an advantage, don't be too surprised," Jin shrugs as he watches both the hearts die.
"You missed two," Kakazu points out as their brawl begins.
As Kakazu leaps away the fire mask appears from behind his back.
"SEARING MIGRAINE!" Kakazu commands as a massive wave of fire spreads out in the forest.
Leaping away through the trees, Jin assesses the situation.
'I left the big two so I'll have an excuse to draw the fight out, but I can't use rinnegan abilities until I find Zetsu, when I sense him and kill him then I can just mop up Kakazu, but damn this dude is annoying,' he looks back to see the massive patch of incinerated trees.
"Fucking annoying," Jin mutters as he leaps away from the wind spheres that rain down on his previous spot.
Charging directly at Kakazu he keeps track of the two flying masks on the battlefield while engaging in taijutsu once more.
As he feels fire chakra being built behind him for another attack, he suddenly grapples his opponent, his grip immovable as Asura path cybernetics clamp down.
With a twist and spin, he throws Kakazu directly into the attack.
Flickering away from the wave of flames he uses his own jutsu.
*CLAP*
His hands come together, water chakra pouring into them as he leaps backward and slams them onto the ground.
'Rising Waterfall Jutsu'
A swirling geyser of water overwhelms Kakazu's flames, flooding the area completely.
Swaths of trees are torn out of the ground from the force and washed away.
Seeing Kakazu with severe burns rising to his feet, standing atop the waters' surface, Jin continues his assault.
*CLAP*
'Great Breakthrough,' with a deep breath he exhales a small hurricane. Dirt and stone are torn out of the earth as a massive wave of air uproots the entire area, throwing a few buildings worth of debris at Kakazu.
The attack is answered by another wall of fire, this time added with wind to amplify it to absurd levels.
Overwhelming and using Jin's wind as fuel, Kakazu's attack reaches high above the forest, immense heat washes over the nearby battlefield from hundreds of meters away.
Quickly retreating from the massive attack, Jin runs out of the range before changing his approach, sensing Asuma taking severe damage nearby he has to accelerate things.
*CLAP*
'Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu,' four shadow clones appear and immediately become transparent, hiding their chakra and scattering around.
As the aftermath of steam and ash settles down, Jin dashes through the trees directly behind the wind mask, before it can even react he punches through it, the soft warm feeling of a beating heart feels strange in his grasp, just before he crushes it.
As the wet squishy feeling takes over his hand, a wave of flames crashes into Jin once more.
"Argh fuck," he raises his hands in front of his face reactively.
Unable to use his chakra absorption explicitly he decides to take the damage for the sake of putting on a show.
The flames eventually dissipate to reveal Jin with burns covering the right side of his torso, bits of his face, both his arms and one of his legs. Intentional damage, a necessary sacrifice.
'Gotcha!' one of his clones mentally signals him, Zetsu was found.
Flickering away he punches his hand through the final mask, the fire chakra heart immediately dies as Jin stops holding back.
"WHAT!"
Kakazu is startled by the sudden surge of power.
"Sorry I'll explain later," Jin says quickly as he rushes Kakazu, delivering a haymaker to his face to instantly knocking him out, flickering again he arrives at Zetsu's branch.
Before the plant, person, thing? Can even react, a wind chakra kunai cuts off the branch, half merged into the branch Zetsu falls with it.
As the white creature tries to reach out, Jin appears and grabs him by the throat.
'Ningendo.'
To his surprise, he looks into the soul to see that this is just a clone. A perfect biological clone created by the original.
'Hmm, so the original is at their base, with... black Zetsu, Tobi? What?' he thinks to himself as he sorts through the few memories available.
'Majestic Destroyer Flame'
He incinerates the body after extracting the soul, ending his job here.
'So Tobi and Zetsu were plotting something behind Nagato's back... I'll have to pay a visit to their base after I deal with Nagato, and figure out how to deal with Konan too, ugh, I hate these plot twist style things...' he grimaces while walking up to Kakazu.
'Lightning Blade'
With one quick rush, he pierces Kakazu's final heart before he can fully wake up.
'Summoning Jutsu,' His scroll of Senjutsu seals appears beside him.
With practiced ease he rolls it open onto a section simple titled 'Knights'
'HEAT
BUBBLY
ERUPT
VENT'
These seals are all located on this page, with a simple touch of his palm he places an invisible senjutsu seal on Kakazu, the exact same seal is then placed within the scroll.
'GRUDGE'
The knights have been gathered.
