21 Unexpected Moment (3)

Yan An eyed the painting conscientiously. Crossing his arms while twirling the pencil on his finger as he began to study the sketch in the painting.

The painting was the work of Raffaello Sanzio, a famous painter in the 15th - 16th centuries. The frame of the painting written—made in 1517; 3 years before his death; illustrated a young man with curly brown hair smiling, made in such flawless detail, even the mole on his chin looked quite real. The color design was carefully chosen to make it more vibrant, and judging by the texture of the color, Yan An could guess that it was oil paint.

When Yan An focused on the painting, his female friend suddenly spoke, "This painting is truly amazing, you know. I honestly like the ancient vibe." She pointed to one of Raffaello Sanzio's paintings, and asked, "Which one do you think is better, Leonardo da Vinci or Rafaello da Urbino?"

Heeding the question, Yan An sighed heavily with his eyes closed. He said, "Sheng Chu, all of them are amazing painters and have their own characteristics. You shouldn't compare them."

A woman named Sheng Chu was instantly captivated. She shook her head and clapped her hands, saying, "You make a great painting, you know. Your painting is promising and the way you respect other painters is very wise, haha."

Yan An didn't respond other than smiling painfully.

Coming to be a famous painter was his dream since his childhood. He always imagined that one day his painting could be displayed in a museum and praised by many people all the time. Yet, he saw that dreams would disappear sooner and he would live aimlessly.

Until this second, Yan An hoped that his dream would come true one day. But judging by his family's current condition, seemingly he thought it was impossible.

The pencil was accidentally thrown away, and then hit someone without him noticing. And when Yan An was about to pick up the pencil that rolling on the ground, the man did it first.

Yan An looked up, about to thank him, but as soon as he saw the figure, he was instantly petrified.

It was Jiang Yanxu!

After what he had been through and how he kept being rejected by someone who had been his husband; and all that grief and misery, Yan An destined to reunite with that heartless man again, who had left deep pain permanently in his heart.

Yan An's mouth slightly opened in disbelief. As soon as he came to his senses, he deliberately straightened himself up. An uncomfortable atmosphere was sensed, thus Yan An was reluctant to say anything. In the end, Jiang Yanxu handed the pencil to Yan An.

Jiang Yanxu was extremely nervous at the time, but he kept his hands from shaking. He stared at Yan An, thus his eyes immediately filled with remorse. As he held out the pencil, he wanted to apologize, but what came out was nothing more than small talk.

"Here, you dropped it," Jiang Yanxu said in a gentle voice.

Yan An stretched out his hand, grabbing the pencil. He replied awkwardly, "Thank you."

Yan An couldn't smile even if he forced himself. After the cruelty he had received, was yet hard for him to show a slight smile.

Whether because he was afraid or hated, he couldn't quite tell for sure.

After that, the two of them stood wordlessly. Sheng Chu watched them one after another in wonder, and as she was about to ask Yan An to leave, Jiang Yanxu said, "You ... are here ... since when?"

Whether Jiang Yanxu was about to express his disbelief in himself, still his tone wasn't clear.

However, before Jiang Yanxu heard Yan An's response, Wen Huiyi's voice came from his back. Jiang Yanxu instinctively looked back and saw Wen Huiyi approaching him.

When Wen Huiyi arrived beside Jiang Yanxu, he complained, "I kept looking for you outside but you were here."

He hadn't noticed Yan An's presence yet, so as soon as he glanced sideways, his reaction was completely different from Jiang Yanxu's. He cheerily closed to Yan An, then lengthened his hand to him. He said friendly, "Yan An, how's it going? Long time no see, yeah?"

The awkwardness between him and Jiang Yanxu carried over as he replied to Wen Huiyi, "Yeah ... long time no see ...."

Wen Huiyi didn't have time to say anything yet, Yan An said again, "Umm ... we have to leave."

After saying that, Yan An immediately grabbed Sheng Chu's hand.

Yan An dragged Sheng Chu out rashly. When they were some distance from the entrance, Yan An let go of Sheng Chu's hand.

Sheng Chu stroked her wrist as she spoke irritatedly, "My hand aches, you know!"

Yan An felt guilty. He said earnestly, "I'm sorry."

Sheng Chu wasn't truly mad. As a woman, it was her instinct to blame men.

Staring at Yan An for a few seconds, she exclaimed, "You have to buy me some meal and I'll forgive you!"

Yan An chuckled. He nodded in agreement. "Sure!"

As they walked towards the nearest restaurant, Sheng Chu had been bothered by something earlier, so she couldn't help but ask, "Yan An, the man ... who is he? Why did you look so nervous at him?"

Yan An was deep in thought and he was unwilling to talk about Jiang Yanxu. After all, Sheng Chu urged him again, "Yan An, just say it, I promise you I won't tell anyone."

Yan An sighed wearily. He finally spoke up, only he wasn't being candid as he said, "He's my acquaintance. My dad and his were colleagues and we used to live in the same city. But I haven't seen him in a few months, so when I met him, I got surprised."

Who would like to tell their broken household? He certainly didn't want to expose that the man was his ex-husband who dumped him.

What's more, was too painful for him. Marrying someone he loved but that someone even hated him; who is more stupid than him? Seeing his partner cheating in front of him, who can still quit and love him more than anything?

Fortunately, if it weren't for their parents, Yan An wouldn't stand even a year.

He would rather sacrifice his love than suffer for more years!

But, who would have thought that Jiang Yanxu would be the one to file for divorce in the end?

However, all of what Yan An felt couldn't be known by people including Sheng Chu.

When Sheng Chu heard Yan An's words, she frowned. Yan An's words sounded acceptable, but she still had doubts as she said, "Acquaintance? I thought he wasn't but your ex, hahaha!"

Yan An snorted. He insisted, "Oh, come on, I just know him by name. We've never talked before."

Sheng Chu instantly burst out laughing. "No way. The look on you can't hide that!"

Yan An, "Whatever."

Yan An didn't want to argue, so he hurried his pace, ahead of Sheng Chu.

Seeing Yan An about to leave her, Sheng Chu gave chase. "Yan An, wait for me!"

Yan An didn't get mad but he wanted to ignore her to teach her a lesson!
