DOG

Lucius's expression stiffened.

What Julien said just now?

His gaze shifted over to Julien's face again, sizing the other up.

Julien had spoken without much thought for the sake of finding out if Lucius is his destined partner, he didn't take into consideration the consequences of smelling the dominant alpha pheromones. That misconception was probably because this world felt surreal to him, and he had overly relied on the bits and pieces of information his friend told him a day ago.

Lucius had silently been observing Julien's innocent expression this whole time as if omega really didn't know why he didn't release his scent. The other's lips had been slightly pursed as if he was blaming him for something.

Lucius rescinded the dark light in his eyes and said in a dull tone: "You want me to do it?"

Seeing his calm but dark eyes, Julien's heart stopped, he weighed the pros and cons for a few seconds before speaking: "Well, just for a moment, I want to check something and promise to not bother you again about it."

Lucius's interest was piqued so he asked: "What you want to know about my pheromones?"

Seeing the darkness finally dissipate from Lucius's eyes, Julien sighed in relief. There was a bit of excitement in his tone when he replied: "I want to check if you smell like wine! It's a very important issue because if not, we may not be compatible."

Julien's fingers curled slightly. A second later, his voice lowered: "You don't want to know if you have found the right one?"

Julien looked like he was looking forward to it. His tone was full of longing.

The corner of Lucius's lips rose. It was a silent admission.

Julien's lowered gaze looked pure and innocent, tinged with a huge amount of befuddlement. If it hadn't been for the fact that Lucius's gaze had been fixed on the other's face the whole time, he might misunderstand him.

Lucius couldn't suppress his laugh: "Who told you that? Well, it's not that it isn't true, but you wouldn't feel anything towards me if there wasn't a connection between us."

That was true, there was a certain feeling and Julien couldn't help and wanted to say close to this alpha.

Lucius said in a cool voice: "I bet you just can't wait to have sex with me, but I prefer to make love with you, for the first time, without heat."

Julien's eyelid twitched: "In your dreams, pervert!"

Lucius tapped his finger against Julien's forehead: "Wouldn't you go into heat under the influence of my pheromones?"

Lucius's words now had suddenly startled Julien awake and made him realize that he was totally brainless. When Julien thought of this, he subconsciously glanced at the man. As expected, the other's eyes were amused.

Lucius raised a brow: "So, you were sniffing my bedsheets like a dog with an ulterior motive?"

Julien instantly wanted to vomit blood, angered to death, he asked with narrowed eyes: "Who is the dog?"

Lucius laughed inwardly: "I am, I am!"

Julien noticed that the man was sucking up to him and his mood improved a lot.

Julien clicked his tongue: "Don't dare to mention it in the future!"

After that, Julien stayed in Lucius's office to accompany him and eat diner together.

Lucius was very satisfied with his presence, he held Julien in his arms and kissed his forehead. Then he ladled a bowl of health-maintenance soup and put it in front of him, gently saying: "You are light as a feather, too thin, you need to eat a lot and properly make up for it."

Julien rolled eyes at him and quietly ate until he satisfied.

But of course, Lucius wasn't, he scooped another bite of food into Julien's mouth: "One more, for me."

The food was soft and delicious, not greasy at all, but Julien was completely full and after that bite, he tightly closed his mouth.

An accusatory frown creased Lucius's forehead: "That's too little, you won't be able to gain weight eating this much."

Julien stabbed Lucius with his chopsticks: "I can't eat more and I don't want to gain weight!"

When he was preparing to wipe his mouth Lucius stretched out a napkin to carefully wipe it for him: "Okay, I will set you free, if you're done."

Lucius got up, walked back to his computer and started to work again while Julien took a short nap to digest food.

When Julien walked out of the company, he was still sleepy. He didn't notice at first that Lucius's secretary escorted him to the entrance and even pressed the elevator button for him. But when he calmed down, he found it strange, this kind of attitude towards him was too good and too enthusiastic, and the receptionists he met in the past also weren't this polite. They treated him as if they already know that he was in a relationship with their boss.

Sure enough, there were giving him a face, because of Lucius.
