1 Chapter 1 : Back to the Past.

I feel something warm on my face as I regain my senses but I'm still not able to move. I feel someone holding my hand,

"I'm not dead?

But they clearly left me to starve to death.",

I try to move my hand and all of a sudden I'm able to open my eyes.The scene that greets me is of a familiar face which I've missed so much.

Tears stung my eyes as I try to reach out my hand. My hand is clasped as I hear a beautiful voice of a man next to me

"XiaoRuo you're awake, call Doctor Li fast to come and check on her"

I move my eyes towards the voice and call out gently

"Mom, Dad",

I try to speak clearly but it comes out as a croak, Mom comes near me and caresses my face as I try to reach my hand to her face.

The scenes happening in front of me fade away as the faces of all the people who have hurt me and plotted against me come in front of me. I try to run away but fall at every step and finally I stop at turn towards them. I don't know where I got the courage from but I'm just tired of everything and I'm not going to lose against them again at least not this time.

"You've finally learned how to fight back. I'm giving you one more chance to get back what belongs to you, use it well", says a serene voice as the scenes fade away once more.

In a small dilapidated house lays a frail girl whose skin has turn an unhealthy yellow because of malnutrition and looks no more than 15

"Xiao Ruo, you wretched girl you're still sleeping, you useless girl wake up." , comes an unruly voice of a woman as water is mercilessly poured on the girl's body.

"Wake up Xiao Ruo, I really don't know what sin I did in my past life to deserve this suffering. First I had to take care of her sick mother and now her. Look at your sister she is only an year older than you yet is so much better.", this woman is called Ye Ning and is the sister-in-law of the girl's mother

who left this world not long ago.

Xiao Ruo opens her eyes and what greets her is not the dark room but her small room which is really familiar. This is the room she used to live in when she was young. She looks at her hands, weak and yellow because of malnutrition but atleast still in one piece without a trace of any scar.

Am I really back to the past?.....That voice, it was not a dream?

Xiao Ruo looks at her surrounding ignoring the buzzing caused by the screeching of the woman next to her, she turns in the direction where an old mirror with lots of spots is hanged on the wall. She slowly walks to it and is relieved to see the familiar yet distant face in it.

'From my looks I should be 15 right now so there's still three years till that nightmare begins .

I don't know how I'm back but I won't reach the same end again even if this is a dream. I still have three years to prepare till it all starts.

Xiao Ruo looks up at the woman who keeps shouting at her and remembers the things this woman did to her. All the suffering she went to in the beginning of her misery is all because of this woman.

"Xiao Ruo you're finally awake, you wrench go and cook breakfast your sister is already late for college."

"Why should I?", asks Xiao Ruo in a voice so cold that even Ye Ning feels a chill run down her spine.

She looks up at Xiao Ruo and is even more scared with the bloodthirsty look in her eyes.

She immediately glares at the girl

" Fine don't cook but don't think you can just stay here for free, if you're not willing to work then get out of my house",

Ye Ning sneers 'This sl*t wants to go against me, let's see if she still dares.'

"Sure not like I want to stay here , I'll leave the house by tomorrow and if you dare throw me out before then see how I tell everyone about it.", this shocks Ye Ning who was ready to make Xiao Ruo beg her to stay in the house.

"Yo..You wretched girl is this how one should treat their elder. I don't know what I did to have such an unfilial child living in my house, do you still not remember who raised your mother and you", shouts Ye Ning

Footsteps can be heard from outside the room and soon a young girl comes inside

"Mom what's wrong? What happened?", asks the girl, "Jinning look at this girl disrespecting her elders just because I asked her to cook breakfast."

Xiao Ruo watches the mother daughter duo with an amusing look in her eyes invisible to others.

"Xiao Ruo no matter what she is your elder you shouldn't be like this to her", says Li Jinning to her sister ready to use this against her.

"But sister you and your mother should know better than anyone if she really is deserving of my respect or not",

says Xiao Ruo as a sharp glint in her eyes. This shocks both the mother daughter pair as they are scared silly.

' Does this girl knows something, that's not possible....we hid our tracks well', Ye Ning grits her teeth as she smiles at Xiao Ruo, "Xiao Ruo you must be mistak....", she is cut short my Xiao Ruo,

"I already know the truth and the only reason I'm not doing anything to you is because of all the things uncle did for my mom and me when her was alive but that doesn't mean you can test my patience all the time......

I'm leaving for school don't try to do anything or else I'm going to the police."

Both Ye Ning and Li Jinning are so scared on the inside that they don't speak a word and just look at the departing figure with a complex look in their bloodshot eyes which is due to anger or fear is unknown.
