We set sail

After a week, Han Yan met up with Man Tian in the sanctuaries. They hunted mutant creatures of large size and gathered supplies to last them six months. Now they were ready to sail to Bian, bringing him back to the warm embrace of people.

"Alright, everything is ready! Remember to wait for us; if you leave the sanctuaries while were still in it, the beast soul becomes useless," Man Tian had met up with Bian and marked him using the super beast soul.

"Alright, hope you've gathered enough supplies to last the entire trip. Hurry up and don't take any detours. And also, good luck," Bian said. They all made their way to the sanctuaries.

While Bian waited for them, Han Yan and Man Tian boarded the crystal boat and made a beeline towards Bian's location.

The mermaid under Han Yan's control would steer the ship while Man Tian would give them the direction of travel.

"So, you've known Bian since childhood," Han Yan made some small talk with Man Tian.

"Yeah, he was the local genius. He's really kind-hearted and naive, so I had to protect him a lot," Man Tian said like it was no big deal.

They talked about Bian, super creatures, and other things as they sailed through the ocean for a month, the island still not in view.

"So you gained four super geno points from that egg, that probably makes you the only evolver to have super genes," Han Yan said.

The crystal boat could move incredibly fast in the water, yet even after a month of travel, they still hadn't reached Bian.

"Damn, he really was spawned far away from the rest of us," Man Tian commented. They had finished one-fifth of their food reserves. Their mutant geno points climbed rapidly.

"Hopefully, he's not too far," Han Yan wished. They sailed for two more weeks; Han Yan unlocked the gene lock for jadeskin. She already had a natural affinity with the geno art, and with nothing to do but eat and practice she broke through the first barrier. They ignored the diverse fish they saw and went straight towards Bian's direction.

"What is that?" They soon spotted a wide marshy swamp land; the water around it was colored green.

"Should we go around it?" Man Tian asked, with the tracker, he knew that Bian was still further ahead.

"Too long of a detour," Han Yan said, and the crystal ship dived under the water, going deep down until it went under the island. They heard the croak of a frog all the way from where they were under the ocean.

"It must be really strong if I can still hear its croak from here," Man Tian said, and Han Yan agreed. They continued their travel towards Bian.

Bian had waited for them over two months, although he had faith in them, some worries surfaced in his mind.

"What if something happened to them?" But that was very unlikely as the crystal boat was too sturdy, not to mention he could still feel the presence of the tracker.

"I should have set a deadline for their arrival." A very distressing feeling in life is waiting for someone unsure when they would show up, eventually leading to wondering if they would even show up.

The next day, Bian finally saw a shadow in the distance. A wave of relief washed over him, he went towards the shadow, and soon the crystal boat came into view.

He landed and met up with Han Yan; they shared a passionate reunion as though they hadn't seen each other in years.

"Alright, let's head back." Man Tian was no average bloke. He marked several creatures and people back on the ice lands; this way, they wouldn't get lost.

"Just one minute, I got something to take care of." Bian flew towards the island and broke the teleporter there. That way, no one would spawn on the deserted island ever again.

"Let's go." They began their return journey back to Icelands. Han Yan and Man Tian made two wrong calculations in bringing meals.

Firstly, they had no idea it would take more than two months to go and come back. Secondly, Bian could eat three times the amount of an average person.

Their food supply went down to one-fifth in a month. Bian's stagnant mutant geno points finally climbed all the way to 47.

"Bro, if you keep eating at that rate, we aren't going to last the entire return journey," Man Tian said.

"How many mutant gene points do you have?" Bian inquired from Man Tian, "It's nearly maxed out," he responded, and Han Yan said something similar.

"Well, mine hasn't even reached fifty." Bian was so depressed he couldn't ask them about their sacred geno tally.

They naturally evaded the island surrounded by green water and all the marine life as they made their way back.

"Alright, we will just have to hunt for food from now on." Bian could easily sense the levels of creatures around using the dongxuan sutra.

With Han Yan, who had unlocked a gene lock in Jadeskin, and Man Tian, who had a berserk sacred-blood armor, they could easily kill any sacred-blood creature in the water.

Well, at least Han Yan and Bian could, Man Tian hadn't learned any water movement hyper geno art like Tide. He couldn't move as efficiently in the water.

They paused to occasionally hunt mutant creatures that weren't too big.

SNIP!

With a loud snip, all the beasts that found themselves in the giant mouth of Bian's scissors were cut in twain without resistance.

Bian didn't activate his empirical will for any creature lower than sacred-blood, and thus did not get any beast soul. The time for their journey extended as they regularly went out to hunt.

After a week, Man Tian and Han Yan had maxed out in their mutant geno points, Bian had reached 68 mutant geno points.

"Okay, how many sacred gene points do you have?" Bian finally had the confidence to ask.

"Nine" Man Tian responded.

"I have eleven" Bian said with a smug smile.

"Forty-seven" Han Yan said.

Bian "..."

Man Tian "..."

Turns out Han Yan had been busy in the sanctuaries all this while. She was physically the strongest among the three of them.

*Cough! Cough!*

"Let's begin our hunt on sacred blood creatures then." Unfortunately, all the sacred-blood creatures they encountered were bigger than the crystal ship.

They only ate their fill and the rest were fed to the minotaur and angel who finished them in minutes.

Man Tian was awestruck as it was his first time seeing such a scene.

"Aww! Little angel!" Han Yan was bubbling with excitement, she rubbed her cheeks against those of the little angel, cherishing how soft they were.

Han Yan and Bian agreed to keep the beast soul they acquired by themselves from the first sanctuary, they only exchanged armors to suit their taste. The first sanctuary berserk super crystal ant armor was equivalent to a sacred-blood armor in the second sanctuary. From the get go, hunting was relatively safer for Han Yan, safe but not easy.

"So much sacred-blood meat, gone" Man Tian was still coming to terms with the reality before his eyes.

"Yeah, you'll get used to it." Bian patted him on the shoulder.

"Zhu Ting revealed something to me" Han Yan remembered what Zhu Ting told her before she left.

"The seven twist?" Bian asked with a glimmer of hope.

"Nope, the location of a nest" Han Yan responded.

"THAT'S IT! FULL SPEED AHEAD!" Bian yelled, he suddenly had a revelation.

A somewhat transparent 50 meter long octopus stood in their way. "Alright, this is the last sacred blood creature we stop to kill."

Bian had killed three sacred-blood creatures with his emperical will active, he got two beast soul mounts and one shapeshifting beast soul. They were all fish-based and were only useful when in water.

He gave a mount to Han Yan. They both swam on gigantic fishes as they made their way to the octopus.

It tried intercepting them with its tentacles. Bian summoned the giant white scissors, he used the sharp edge to slice off a huge section of a tentacle.

With a squeal, the octopus released dark ink into the water. Bian and Han Yan instantly fell back, a dark-blue octopus whose body gleamed like metal rushed towards them.

"It went beserk" Han Yan and Bian realized at the same time.
