A non-noble candidate Part 2

A tall lackadaisical man leaned on Eluraa's door, with an extremely casual attitude.

"So, you are the new egg huh?", he indifferently asked.

Since she was expecting someone a little more formal or at least official, Eluraa was slightly taken aback with his approach, but nevertheless, she cautiously nodded.

Though the man in front of her seemed extremely nonchalant, he was still much stronger than her in every aspect.

So Eluraa carefully treaded not daring to insult him in any way.

But the man standing in front of her didn't make it any easier.

As Eluraa nodded, he suddenly got close to her and jumped up and down abruptly, as if he was analyzing her, even sniffing her.

"Hmm... Already a beast tamer I see..."

"Umm... Yes?" Eluraa nodded, standing stiff, rooted in place.

"Not bad... For someone without any schooling, you have a pretty solid foundation. Self-taught I assume?" the expert asked.

"Yes," Eluraa patiently nodded again.

It was not like she could hide her cultivation level. One needed to be at a certain stage to mask aspects such as strength and power.

The expert stared at her for a few more seconds, still seemingly very indifferent, but slight shades of veiled awe flitted across his eyes.

This child was definitely talented!

But, how will a non-noble child like her survive in this current harsh political scenario?

Tch... Tch... The expert clicked his tongue.

She wouldn't even get the bare minimum resources she needed. She was not from a noble family!

The expert standing in front of Eluraa was actually not an academy representative.

In fact, he was one of the newly joined instructors in the capital city's academy.

When he heard that a commoner had tested with yellow affinity, he wanted to stop by and take a look first hand.

But, now that he could clearly see just how talented this child was, he wanted to help her out, even just a little bit.

Heaven knows, she definitely needed his help.

Unfortunately, the current condition of the empire had fallen into such a state, giving just a tad too much leeway for the noble families.

But nothing much can be done.

After all, only one in a thousand commoners, if at all, were born with decent affinities.

Thinking about it for a while, the expert suddenly straightened up, "Ok. I have decided. Why don't you come along with me?"

It was better to keep this child within his eyesight.

He might not be able to do much against the entirety of the oppression, but it was still within his power to help out this one child!

The expert instructed Eluraa to follow him.

She nodded and curiously following him, with her small bundle of clothes and essentials.

They both walked in silence for about an hour, with the landscape changing from a bustling market area to a dense lavish forest.

The capital city's academy was actually located deep inside the forest engulfing the city borders.

Soon they arrived near a mountain range and the expert flicked his sleeves revealing a lengthy mystical tattoo.

Eluraa was startled for a second. Her eyes then glistened recognizing that familiar mark of a beast tamer.

She wondered what beast did this powerful man tame!

When a beast is tamed, it resides with the master, as a part of his soul.

A mark appears on the master's body and the beast is able to materialize from the mark at the master's will.

Though the beast resides with the master, its growth and combat ability are independent of the master's skills and level and dependent on its own ability and level.

As Eluraa was intently gazing at the expert, a huge majestic bird materialized next to her.

It was an eagle breed, but with silver feathers and a clear frost attribute, with cold energy currents emanating from the beast's body.

Without waiting for a reply, the expert swiftly lifted Eluraa up and placed her on a saddle, bundled next to him.

As if reading his thoughts, the bird immediately took off and soared high up in the sky.

Such an incredible speed for a huge magical creature was very impressive.

The bird spiraled upwards for a few good minutes almost driving Eluraa dizzy from all the spinning.

The proud bird hated being a ride to others, which clearly showed in the extremely bumpy nature of the ride.

Soon, the gigantic, cherry blossom colored, beautiful wings unfurled and the bird stopped its spiraling.

Finally, they had reached what looked like a floating island.

The entire place was covered in rich dense fog, with an enormous compound outlining the academy boundaries.

The expert finally turned towards Eluraa and spoke a few words, "No summoning of tamed beasts inside the academy gates without permission." He murmured.

Eluraa vaguely nodded. Her head was spinning even after getting off of the bird.

She slowly took a sip of water and turned around to meet the escort for instructions.

But...

One man and one bird had completely disappeared into thin air...
