17 Chapter 17: Emerald Bracelet.

On another side after conversing with auntie Amy Elizabeth invited her to have lunch together tomorrow with the whole family which Amy agreed merrily.

Bidding farewell Elizabeth reached home.

~~~At Smith Mansion Dining hall~~~
"Dad, how is your day?"
"Good"
"Did you choose the dress?"
"Yes, Dad be sure to be free tomorrow afternoon I have asked Aunty Amy out for Lunch with family. You cannot miss it."
When Harris heard this he was astounded. Her daughter met Amy. He was in dismay it's been a long time. Ever since high school Elizabeth had an unknown hatred towards Amy and asked him to not have any contact with them, but now look alike Elizabeth had changed for good. He was happy.
"Okay"
Finishing the dinner, Harris: Good night princess
Elizabeth: Good night dad
~~~~Next Morning~~~~

Elizabeth was having breakfast with her father. "Master... Young Miss.." a maid called out them. "There's a package for young miss" Elizabeth stood up and took the package from the maid's hands, "Thank you," she said. The maid nodded and left.

Under Harris's questioning gaze of asking silently 'who was it from?' she just shrugged her shoulder 'I don't have any idea.'

Elizabeth opened the package and saw it was a latest hand bracelet engraving with precious gem emerald, with a card. She started to read it,

"Dear, Elizabeth Smith. I am guilty of what happened yesterday. It was my arrogance I hope you forgive me. With regards, Laura Brown."

Elizabeth was laughing inside and rolled her eyes. When she read the words she felt this Laura was truly hypocritical. She feels that Laura must have some ulterior motives against her otherwise regard to her arrogance she couldn't apologize.

"Princess, did you know the Brown family?" Harris asked when he heard the letter words.

"No, it was just the Brown family daughter somehow messed with me yesterday and aunty Amy taught her a lesson," Elizabeth replied plainly.

"Okay be careful while making friends, it is not good to be influenced by fake people."

"Yes, Dad She is not my friend."

Elizabeth knows her father was worried about her social contact as she had no one other than Lucy but sometimes it was hard to find someone faithful.

She hadn't broken the wall of Rita yet, otherwise, she would invite her home and make her met her father. They both would have a good talk.

~~~~At Queen Mary College~~~~
"Hey, Elizabeth" While Rita and Elizabeth were discussing who was going to be the first place in the last time exam. Laura interrupted by greeting her.
"Hii" Elizabeth replied formally. She was not in the mood to deal with this fakkie, she was tensed with the result announced today.
"Elizabeth I know my first impression of you is very bad, I sincerely want to befriend you as I only know you in this class and I am a transfer. Would you forgive me?" Laura said pitifully.
"I will consider it" Elizabeth knew if she rejects her now she has to deal with her more so she handled the situation neutrally. She also doesn't want to be an ignorant person by refusing her directly in front of the whole class so she sides off her lightly.
Seeing the neutral attitude of Laura clenched her fist, she had already lowered herself cannot Elizabeth gave her some face but now was not the right time for her to vent the anger.
"Okay, Elizabeth you take your time" with that she goes back to her seat.
In the classroom, the students gathered in groups to discuss the result of the last exam.
"Well, Lucy must be number one. She is a top student in our class. Her grades were always good!"
A few boys praised Lucy. They looked at Lucy from time to time, who was sitting on the seat pretending to be studying and nervous. Her image was clean for everyone.
Lucy was very popular at the College. She was pretty and behave elegantly, and her grades were always good. Most importantly, she was a pitiful person from a middle-class family without the support of the father and everyone sympathize with her.
The few girls were also discussing, "Who is the number one this time? Lucy?"
"Not Lucy, Rita is number one. I went to the professor's office this morning. It seemed to hear that Lucy was behind Rita!"
"Really? She has always got number one. If she cannot be ranked number one, then she is not enough to beat Rita."
"...."
Everyone was discussing it. Although their voice was low, the classroom was not big enough that Lucy and Elizabeth could naturally hear them.
Lucy clenched her hand inside the book, 'What Rita is number one? The hell with this!'
Elizabeth turned to look at Rita and asked, "Hey, did you got to number one? You must treat me then."
"Ahh.... that's not sure wait for the professor," Rita replied.
During this period, Elizabeth asked Rita to help her with her studies. She was clear about Rita's strength. She was simply a living textbook-like her, and that exam was a piece of cake for her.
The head professor of the class took the first class. She walked to the desk with the exam paper and box score in her hand. She looked a bit green.
"These are your grades from the last exam. How do you guys feel about your exam results? Can anyone tell us?" Jasmine glanced across every corner of the room. When she looked at Elizabeth and Rita, she paused for a moment.
The students sat on their seats one by one, daring not to speak with their heads down, for fear of being called by the professor.
Jasmine fixed her gaze on Elizabeth, then slowly walked towards her seat.
Elizabeth noticed that Jasmine was approaching her. It was a lie for her to say that she was not nervous. She was clear about her grades. Was the professor planning to use her as a bad influence?
