Chapter 10: Wolf King Andreus

Awoo!!

Not even a second pass after Red killed his 50th wolf when another howl sounded.

But compared to this howl, the howl of other wolves are nothing more than a cat purring.

The volume is much higher, the ferocity is stronger and the bloodlust of the owner of the sound was clearly conveyed.

Despite that, Red was not the slightest bit afraid, and his eyes didn't even reflect surprise.

What he saw in his field of vision is a big shadow charging over in his direction, before he could make out a silhouette it already arrived in front of him.

"Fast", Red grunted before dodging to the side.

Wanting to employ the same tactic as before, Red swung his club to the shadow that assaulted him, but the feeling of his club hitting flesh didn't come. Instead, he felt a numbness spreading from his hands to his arms.

He had to tighten his grip on his weapon to prevent it from slipping or else it would be troublesome trying to retrieve his weapon in the middle of a fight.

Using the momentum of the force to gain distance from his assailant, Red inspected the shadow that now revealed himself to be a 2-meter-tall wolf, twice the size of the previous wolf he killed.

Deterrence

Not only was the height of Wolf King Andreus twice the normal wolf, but his HP and MP were also twice the little wolf's as well. To top it off, he also had one additional skill which is Deterrence

Deterrence was a skill of monsters with "King" on their title. It's a passive skill that grants an overall boost in attributes when fighting 2 or more enemies. It also provides a debuff once the total number of assailants reaches a certain number.

Luckily for Red, he was the only one fighting Wolf King Andreus so the skill was basically useless.

Seeing that the trespasser stopped in his tracks, Andreus thought that the Orc was scared witless so he wants to seize the opportunity to finish the battle.

Flashing in front of Red, Andreus was like a martial artist raining down blows on his opponent, but unlike martial artists what Andreus landed was his claws.

For a time, Red was in a passive position as Andreus took advantage of his superior speed.

In no time, his makeshift armor couldn't take it anymore and dissipated into tiny particles of light. Wounds and cuts also appeared all over his body as he struggled to battle the beast.

On the contrary, Andreus only suffered no more than 5 hits from Red. Besides being slightly tired, he is not suffering anything at all.

However, despite the obvious difference in power between him and Andreus, Red's eyes remained calm. If anything, his eyes only got calmer as the battle went on. Every time the wolf's hides dissipate, Red would deliver a heavy blow that would separate him from the Wolf King, then making use of that time, he would wrap his hands with another set of wolf hide.

This went on for 10 minutes straight, even when using his wrapped arm as a shield, Red still received substantial damage. The only good news was that the frequency of the Wolf King's attacked gets lowers as time went by.

'With the speed of Andreus, I can conclude that his agility is higher than 20. Unfortunately, because of that, his strength is not particularly high, coupled with the wolf hide that's helping me reduce the damage, I managed to live till now.' Red thought to himself as he observe Andreus. The wolf is now panting with obvious signs of exhaustion; this was his cue to counter-attack.

Without hesitation, Red swung his club with the same ferocity as his previous strikes. Andreus, not as fast as before, didn't manage to react in time and took the blow head-on.

"Bad dog!"

Red beat the Wolf King as if the latter ate his food when he is not looking. With every hit fueled by his grievance for being treated as a punching bag, Red soon sent Andreu's health to a critical level.

But before he could deal the final blow, the Wolf King's eyes suddenly turn a shade of red followed by a system prompt that told Red that Andreus entered Berserk Mode.

At this moment, Red's ever-calm face gained a trace of solemnity but deep inside he was wondering if it's also mandatory to have the first boss a transmigrator would fight to go berserk.

Taking a deep breath, Red took a stance to receive the now berserk wolf.

"Come"
