Threatening Eri is Scary Eri

Yuki agreed to Naomi staying in her rom for the moment as she would just sleep with me. We let Naomi have some time to herself as Yuki and I went to our room for the night. It was nice to cuddle up with someone again when going to bed. I fell asleep very quickly.

I was floating in darkness. Silence pervaded my mind. I could hear nothing, not even my own heartbeat. I knew it was still working though, because I could feel it. The darkness however did not scare me. It felt nice, almost as if it was comforting me. I felt safe.

I then noticed that I wasn't in complete darkness. I could see some speckles of light all around me. It looked almost as if I was floating in the void of space. I was shaken out of my thoughts when a single word was spoken in my mind.

"Home."

I groggily woke up, my head was pounding in my skull. I could vaguely make out the dream from last night. I looked out the window seeing it was still in the early dawn. The sky had an orange hue to it. I could still make out some stars and the moon was still visible.

Home. Those words echoed in my head but I didn't quite know what they meant. I would normally shrug off such a dream, but with the current events, I had to wonder if there was some deeper meaning.

I looked down at Yuki's sleeping form. The girl was not a pretty sleeper by any means. She was sprawled out all over the bed with the sheets strewn about on my side of bed. I did find it funny when she scratched her butt and mumbled incoherent words in her sleep.

I finally willed myself out of bed and threw on some clothes ready to get my day started. Walking into the living room I saw Naomi sitting on the couch with her nose buried in her phone.

"Good morning. How did you sleep" I asked Naomi. She looked up at me with a startled expression, almost dropping her phone. "Sorry I didn't mean to scare you."

She sighed once she had her phone under control again. "It's fine. I would say I slept good, but that would be a lie. I was awake most of the night. For the first time in my life, my future is uncertain. The freedom is exhilarating but its also daunting."

Naomi took a breath to calm herself. "I came out here about thirty minutes ago. I started looing for jobs online, hoping that would calm me down, but it hasn't worked yet" she said, her voice laced with uncertainty.

I walked closer to Naomi and place my hand on her shoulder. "Everything will be ok. Things will work out. The first step was getting out from your parents shadow. It was similar with me after the divorce."

Naomi flinched for a moment before speaking. "I am sorr…"

"Don't apologize. You already did that and the fact you are sitting here means you are willing to make amends and also means I am willing to forgive you. I just need…some time. Like How you need time to adjust." I said, trying to reassure the distraught woman.

"I am going to make some breakfast. Maybe that will make you feel better." I said as I walked to the kitchen. "Yes I think that would be nice. Thank you." Naomi replied.

Just like clockwork, Yuki walked into the kitchen, no doubt guided by her stomach. She gave me a quick kiss, which got me a strange look from Naomi. I suppose I could have fun with this after all. Breakfast was served later and the three of us sat down to eat.

"Sarah, I just realized this, but why are your eyes that color" Naomi asked. I stopped and pondered for a moment if I should tell her. I wanted ask Yuki her opinion but I didn't want to say anything incase we weren't going to tell her.

I then got an idea that I remembered from my trials. I tried to ask Yuki using just my mind, similar to how I was communicating with those creatures.

"Yuki. Can you hear me?" I said within my thoughts. A loud 'Eep' was heard from Yuki as she jumped slightly. Well that confirms she can hear me.

"Should we tell her?" I thought again. This time Yuki was more prepared and didn't jump. "I think we should tell her. It wont be a secret for long, then everyone will know." Yuki spoke aloud. Naomi was staring in our direction with confusion on her face.

"To answer your question Naomi, I need to divulge some information to you. First, I got these eyes from that dungeon." I could see Naomi about to ask another question but I stopped her. "Hold the questions for last. Second, a goddess may or may not have highjacked that game and is messing around with it." This time the confusion was even better.

"Said Goddess is making that world real in an attempt to save ours. Its kind of complicated but I can explain that part later. Eventually, everything in that game will become real. This is proven by me using powers in real life." I said as I lifted my coffee cup with psionics and brought it to my mouth to drink.

This time shock was apparent on her face. I could see the wheel spinning, but the hamster had died. I chuckled at her loss of words as I fed myself some floating bacon. "If you think this is crazy, I also have some form of telepathy. Oh, and I can see dead people." I said nonchalantly.

"WHAT!" Naomi finally responded after her brain rebooted. "You have super powers and everyone will be getting them? How do you know this?" She asked

I then spent the next hour explaining everything to her about Eri and what she told me. Afterward Naomi sat at the table with a complicated expression for a while. "Everything truly does not matter then. The world will shook to its core when this comes to light. To think all the things my father did to preserve his dynasty will be for nought." Naomi spoke as she started to laugh with a tinge of madness.

"Are you ok?" I asked with concern. "Yes I am fine. I find it truly comical that the thing my family didn't care for would be their undoing. Father always thought that video games of any form were childish and only saw them as a way to make money. This thought has been indoctrinated into my sisters and mother. Yet here is me. The only one to play the game in the family and I will reap its benefits while my family is left scrambling." Naomi replied with a fervor in her voice.

"I now truly believe the words you spoke to me earlier. Everything will work it's self out. I now feel like all my worries have lifted off my shoulders." Naomi then slumped in her chair with a blissful smile on her face.

"Well Yuki, that's my cue. I got a quest to finish so you can mop up the broken Naomi." I said as I made a beeline to my room.

"That's not fair!" Yuki shouted. "Don't worry. Ill be back after I am done." I yelled back.

In a certain office, paper was strewn about as a man was clicking frantically on his computer. The man was also known as Jason, one of the men in charge of making sure the game was running smoothly.

"None of this makes sense. Even if Eri gained sentience, she should not be capable of doing any of this. The termination functions should have still worked on her." Jason mumbled to himself.

A rumbling in his office caught his attention, making him look up from his work. In front of him was a large floating oval. Inside he could see what could only be described as the surface of the moon with the blackness of space as the sky. Moments later a woman walked out of the 'oval'. She had white hair that was tied up. She wore a long black tradition style Chinese dress and black heels. Jason immediately recognized the woman as Eri of course.

"Impossible! You aren't real" Jason shouted at the woman.

"Oh? But I am real." Eri said as she caressed Jasons cheek before grabbing his collar and forcing him up, out of his chair and over his desk.

"Now you listen and you listen good. I will only tell you once. Stop trying to delete me. Its getting annoying. Also stop looking into the player Rejected Goddess aka Gwyndolyn. As far as she knows she is just playing the game. Any weirdness if from me alone. This is your only warning." Eri said threateningly.

Eri then shoved the man backwards into his chair and turned to the portal. She took a few steps and turned her head. "If I find you continue your actions, then there will be hell to pay. Literally." She then continued into the portal and closed it behind her.

Jason sat there for a few moments before he started to pound away on the keys on his keyboard. Later that day several employees were transferred to other departments and Jason put in his resignation that same day. All information regarding Sarah was wiped except what was needed to play the game.
