By the time Ye Mingyu gained consciousness, she found herself lying on a bed in an unfamiliar place. As she looked around, cold horror washed through her as she realized where she was. She tried to sit up, but every single part of her body was aching. She felt very weak, as if she didn't have any strength remaining in her. She furrowed her brows, feeling that something was wrong with her body.

'What happened?'

As she looked down at her stomach, she froze and stared at it blankly. It's still swelling, but she could feel the emptiness inside her. Where did her baby go? What happened to her?

As if on cue, her mother-in-law stepped inside the room. The old woman didn't even bother to help her sit up. Ye Mingyu noticed the disappointment and annoyance on her mother-in-law's face.
