"Happy new year, Miss Xi."

Xi Qian lifted her head from the note she was reading and smiled, before placing it back in her backpack. She noticed that it was about time for the library to close up for the day, and she needed to get going.

"Happy new year too." She replied to the staff of the library whom she befriended months ago, before starting to make her way out of the public library.

She walked along a long trail outside the premises and stopped once she reached the gates. It had been a while, but Xi Qian was glad that she was not working on New Year's Day and she didn't mind it.

Ever since she started attending med school and moved in with Li Xiran, she was forced to clear out her schedule to allot the whole day to catch up with their friends and celebrate with them. If it wasn't for him and their friends, Xi Qian would rather spend her day at home, sleeping through the day.
