Chapter 32: Special Class

"Okay. This is the end of the assessment, and we've decided to admit you both into the Special class, which is also called the S class. Only persons who produce exceptional results in the entrance exams get into this class."

"Wow!"

Bai Kou smiled and continued. "Being in S class has lots of benefits; the S class students do not have to pay any school fees, so you can save a lot of money. You get your own courtyard, while in other classes, two persons have to share a courtyard. Other classes have an allowance of 1000 points every month to spend in the sect, while you will get an allowance of 2500 points. You also don't have to pay for food in the cafeteria!"

"That's amazing!" Feng Ming Xiu said.

The two teachers smiled, filling in the information sheet of Feng Ming Xiu and Wang Hu Jie and marked them both as S-class students.

"I'm really an S-class student?" Feng Ming Xiu looked at the teachers, seemingly shocked.

"Yes, yes." Bai Kou was grinning as he ran his fingers through his beard.

"Thank you so much, teachers!" Feng Ming Xiu cupped her fists.

Wang Hu Jie cupped her fists as well. "Thank you, teachers."

"Good. Then you can leave now." Bai Kou said.

"Okay. Thank you again." Feng Ming Xiu cupped her fists.

"Oh, when you go out, let the Teacher at the door, Sun Bin, know that you're in the S class, and he'll give some stuff to you."

"Okay Teacher." Feng Ming Xiu smiled and left.

Mao Chuanli sighed. "Such good children."

Feng Ming Xiu told Sun Bin that the teachers had assigned both her and Wang Hu Jie to S class.

Sun Bin looked at her and stood up and went into the classroom.

He came out soon after and walked ahead. "Come with me."

The both of them followed the teacher to the teleportation array and they went in and were teleported from the top of the mountain to the bottom.

They followed the teacher, and they walked for a while and reached a small building.

"Wait here." Sun Bin went inside and came out a few minutes later holding some things. "Here."

"This is the robe that you will be wearing. It has the ability to protect you from the attacks of Golden Core cultivators three times." He gave five dark blue robes that were folded up and two books to Wang Hu Jie and Feng Ming Xiu after saying that. "The robe adjusts itself to the size of the wearer so you don't have to worry about it not fitting you."

"Oh, you will also receive a student identification card a few days later. It will allow you to go in and out of the sect."

Feng Ming Xiu nodded. "Teacher, what are the books for?"

"One of the books is the code of conduct for the sect, and it has things like rules and regulations for the sect, like what you can and cannot wear and so on. The other book shows the layout of the school and where you can and cannot go."

"Okay." Feng Ming Xiu and Wang Hu Jie put the things in their innerspatial ring.

"Good, now follow me."

Feng Ming Xiu, Wang Hu Jie, and Sun Bin didn't walk for long and came across a place with lots of courtyards.

"This is the student block. It's where all the courtyards for the students are located. It is divided into the standard students' district and the special students' district. The block is divided into the first years' section, that's where the first years stay, the second years, where the second years stay, and so on. Since you are in the S class, like the other kids who got into a Special class, you'll be living by yourself."

'Wow. It's like a small city.' Feng Ming Xiu and Wang Hu Jie thought.

They both walked along the wide path while looking around. They saw many students who were conversing with each other.

"No matter what class you're in, the Sect will assign two persons to a courtyard. So a person in the A class can be sharing a courtyard with a person from E class."

"But won't there be fighting among the students if that is done?" Feng Ming Xiu asked.

"That's true, but they almost never fight among each other because of the sect rules."

"Then what if the student from the higher class doesn't fight the other student but bullies the other student indirectly, like ordering them around?"

"If we find out about it, and it's really terrible treatment of the student from the lower class, we'll punish the student from the higher class accordingly and switch the lower class student with a student from another courtyard."

"I see."

At the end of the path, there was a gate with two guards who were conversing with each other. When the guards saw Sun Bin, they bowed and opened the gate.

'Does he have a high position in the sect? Or do they have to bow at every teacher they see? I don't really that being a norm back when I used to go to the sect when I was younger.' Feng Ming Xiu wondered as she followed Sun Bin.

They both went inside. Feng Ming Xiu and Wang Hu Jie felt at peace when they entered the special students' district.

'It's much quieter than the normal students' district.' Feng Ming Xiu thought.

"This is the special students' district. It has a barrier that prevents flying swords from passing through."

"You can choose whichever courtyard you would like to occupy."

They both looked around.

Feng Ming Xiu walked down the path and looked at each of the courtyards. 'It looks like each courtyard has a number.'

"Teacher, on the number plates near each courtyard, why do some have a green mark while others have a red mark?"

"That's to tell which courtyard is occupied or not. If it has a red mark, it is not occupied, and if it has a green mark, it is occupied."

"Oh..." Feng Ming Xiu nodded.

Sun Bin looked at Feng Ming Xiu and Wang Hu Jie. 'They both exude a calm and a sort of cold air and they didn't express any surprise when they came into this district. I wonder if either one of them would make a good heir for the Sun Family Clan.'

Walking to the end of the path, Feng Ming Xiu saw a cherry blossom forest.

'How beautiful.'

"There is a courtyard at the back, would you like to check it out?" Sun Bin asked Feng Ming Xiu, seeing her interested.

"Is anyone occupying it?" Feng Ming Xiu asked.

"No."

"Okay, then I'd like to check it out."

Before Sun Bin got to speak, Wang Hu Jie spoke. "Teacher, can I occupy this courtyard?" Wang Hu Jie asked as she pointed at the last courtyard on the right.

"Sure." Sun Bin nodded.

"Then... can I go in now?"

"Yes." Sun Bin said.

"Before you go, just know that your classes will start next week and there will be a General Assembly that day in the auditorium before your class starts."

"When you're finished signing up for all of your classes, submit a list of the classes that you signed up for to me, and I'll assign you a suitable timetable." Sun Bin said to Wang Hu Jie.

"Okay Teacher."

"Bye." Feng Ming Xiu waved at Wang Hu Jie.

"Bye, miss." Wang Ming Xiu bowed and went to the courtyard house.

"Let's go, teacher."

Sun Bin nodded and opened the gate.

They didn't walk on the path for long when they saw a courtyard at the end.

Feng Ming Xiu looked at the courtyard and didn't take long to decide that she wanted that courtyard. "Teacher, I would like this courtyard."

"Are you sure?" Sun Bin asked.

"Yes. Why?"

"Nothing. It's just that many students in this district fight to live in this courtyard, so we don't let just anyone live in the courtyard."

"Then why are you letting me stay?" Feng Ming Xiu asked confused.

"I think you deserve to be able to stay here, but the others would be quite dissatisfied if they found out."

"Hmm...I'm staying then."

Sun Bin nodded. "Then you can go and explore the inside and see if it is to your liking."

"Also, if you haven't yet, register your name in the General Division. It's compulsory."
