Chapter 30: Motivational Speech

"Why are you two here?" Xiao He was embarrassed that he acted so childish in front of Tian Ziying. He didn't want to act like that in front of the person he likes.

Xu Fai was also embarrassed and hoped that Cao Caihong would not laugh at him, but he saw that although she was smiling, she did not laugh at him, and he sighed with relief.

"We were passing by when we saw the door open and decided to enter when we heard your voices." Cao Caihong said looking at the two of them smilingly. "What are the two of you talking about that made you get into an argument?" Cao Caihong asked as she wondered what could make them argue about it for so long.

So they told Cao Caihong and Tian Ziying about what happened, and they grew more and more shocked when Xu Fai explained to them what happened. "She is just fifteen years old and achieved so much?" Tian Ziying was shocked by everything which Xu Fai said.

Cao Caihong recovered from her shock and smiled. "I hope I get to see this girl."

The following two days were the time for the participants to sign up for what division they wanted to join.

A General Division taught things like the Chinese language, music, calligraphy, etc., and the compulsory topics were Math, Chinese language, and History. You also have to choose two or more topics to study other than the compulsory topics.

The Researcher is a topic in the General Division. They conduct research and turn in results, and sometimes, they even make new discoveries. This division has more practicals than the actual writing of work. An example of a practical they would have is researching an ancient mausoleum.

The main divisions were the Alchemy Division, the Cultivation Division, the Armament Division, the Beast Tamer Division, and the Array Division.

A person has to choose one of the main divisions of their choice and they also have to join the General Division. It is compulsory to join the General Division.

After two days, the entrance exam will start and those that didn't sign up won't be able to participate in the entrance exams and will have to leave the city.

After two days of waiting, it was finally the day of the entrance exams. Everyone was both nervous and excited, and those who were late and didn't get to sign up had to leave.

A teacher came to the inns and after gathering everyone, led them to a wide space. There was a giant door in front of them and the two guards that were at the door pushed open the door when they came.

A middle-aged man with a man and a woman next to him came out. The middle-aged man looked at the students and stroked his beard. "So many students this year."

The man laughed next to the middle-aged man laughed. "So many came this year that I wonder if their only goals are to study and become strong cultivators in the future."

"That's true, but we shouldn't worry about that right now." The woman said.

"Yes." The middle-aged man agreed with the woman.

The middle-aged man looked at the students who were muttering to each other and coughed then spoke. "Hello everyone. I am the deputy headmaster of Dragon Howl Sect."

Everyone quieted down when they heard the deputy headmaster speak.

"Before you pass this door to take your entrance exams, I'll give you all a little motivational speech."

"Your greatest weakness is giving up easily when things don't go well. It's okay to cry and it's okay to scream. You don't have to force yourself to do something you can't do but at the very least, don't give up right away when things go wrong."

"Well, that's all I have to say; for those of you applying for a subject in one of the main divisions, good luck on your exams, and for those joining the general division, the same goes for you because even though you are not getting an entrance exam, you will face challenges as well."

"There are students who will guide you to where you have to go. Once again, good luck." Saying that, the deputy headmaster and the teachers by his side went back inside.

The students looked at each other and then rushed inside.

Jia Xiuying sighed and looked around them to see that there was barely anyone else remaining outside. "They're very fast. I guess they must be excited."

'Were they not able to make it?' Feng Ming Xiu was looking out for Wang Hu Jie and Liu Heng Huan all this time, but she didn't see them anywhere.

"Miss!" Feng Ming Xiu suddenly heard someone shout behind her and immediately knew who it was. She sighed. 'Thank goodness, they made it.' Feng Ming Xiu turned around and she was instantly greeted with a hug.

"Miss! Thank goodness we found you! We arrived at the last day that we had to sign up for what course we wanted to join. That day we searched everywhere but we couldn't find you."

"Good morning miss." Wang Hu Jie bowed at Feng Ming Xiu and noticed someone next to her and greeted her as well.

Feng Ming Xiu smiled and patted Liu Heng Huan's shoulder. "Okay, I understand. But we can talk about it later. We should take our entrance exams now."

"Yes, yes." Liu Heng Huan nodded.

"Oh, by the way, this is Jia Xiuying."

"Hello, Miss Jia. Pleased to meet you!"

"Hello, Miss Jia."

Liu Heng Huan was enthusiastic as usual and Wang Hu Jie was polite.

"It's okay. You can just call me Jia Xiuying or just Xiuying."

"Then, Jia Xiuying, what course are you joining?" Liu Heng Huan asked Jia Xiuying.

"I will be joining the array course." Jia Xiuying said.

"Really? I'm joining as well." Liu Heng Huan was excited to see that there was someone else joining the same course as her.

"Then let's go!" Before Jia Xiuying could say anything, Liu Heng Huan grabbed her hand. "Master, we're going!" After saying that, Liu Heng Huan dragged Jia Xiuying away.

Feng Ming Xiu watched as the two sped away and smiled. "It shocks me sometimes how Heng can be so enthusiastic sometimes."

"Should we go as well miss?" Wang Hu Jie asked.

"Yes." Feng Ming Xiu nodded and they both went up to the guard and handed their pass to the guard. The guard looked at the pass and then let them go into the sect.

Feng Ming Xiu looked around and was surprised by how big the inside was. 'What a big place! Is this really just a sect? If a person didn't know, one would think it's a city!'

Inside the sect, there were numerous old students acting as a guide, showing the way to new students. There were numerous mountains in sight and a division on each mountain. In front of each division, there was a sign indicating the division's assessment point. She could only see the long queues in front of each division on the mountains. And, while there were normal mountains, there were also floating mountains as well. 'How amazing! It's my first time actually seeing these floating mountains.' Feng Ming Xiu looked around in incredulity.

"I will be taking my leave, Miss." Wang Hu Jie said.

"Okay. Good luck with the entrance exams."

"Yes, Miss. You too." Wang Hu Jie left and Feng Ming Xiu looked for a student to guide her to the alchemy division.
