2 I’m The Cursed One..

Rebirth of the Strongest Serpent Master

Five years had passed since the birth of the twins, and until now, nobody knew who the real cursed one was.

"Look at me!" Karlin yelled when he spun on the cold grass.

"I'm not impressed," Karyan replied as he rolled his eyes.

It's been exactly five years since he was reborn and regained his memories. "Five years after my death, and these fools still think I'm a good child…" He whispered as he shook his head.

The cursed one, but which one…? They all thought as they were examining them.

As the prophecy said, the boy would have dark hair, but they both had dark hair.

The prophecy said that he would also have dark eyes, but the boys were born with different colors.

And most importantly, the prophecy said that the boy would have no magic, yet they both already showed their elements…

Rexara was a country of magic controlled by the basic four elements: Water, Earth, Fire, and Wind.

They said that only a few had unique talents and could use the magic of mind, blood, and animals.

In five hundred years, there were only a few who could control that, and Karyan in his previous life was one of them.

Snakes…

The queen of snakes crowned him as the master of serpents and allowed him to freely use their magic as he pleased.

However, his best friend, Mateo, wasn't happy with his talents.

Jealousy ate him, slowly, little by little, one by one until he could no longer breathe in the same air as Karyan did.

Even if Mateo was also a great magic wielder, fire was not as close to him as snakes were to Karyan.

Karyan was praised and liked by many; even the king of Rexara granted Karyan a permit to do as he pleased and use snake magic as medicine.

But that's where Karyan went wrong. Instead of trying his best to protect himself, he healed Mateo with his venom, adding more fuel to his tragedy.

Accused of trying to poison his youngest daughter, Barbara, and trying to sacrifice her to the snakes, Karyan was arrested by the great court and sentenced to death.

His story ended there, with the last breath taken, until his very own eyes opened again.

He was ready.

Ready for revenge and to reclaim everything that was his, setting a never-ending curse for the country.

The venom he let out wasn't just mere words; it was the spell of Lanta, the queen of the snakes.

And now he stood here as an innocent boy, pretending to not be sealed away once again.

"Karyan, Karlin! What did I tell you about rolling on the grass?" Estera shouted at the boys.

"It wasn't me; it was Karlin…" Karyan stated.

Estera furrowed her eyebrows and looked directly into Karlin's eyes, "And what did I tell you?"

"It wasn't me; I think the earth wants me to stay connected to it…"

"You're not an earth wielder, but a fire one!" Estera placed her hands on her hips.

"Blah, blah…" Karlin rolled his eyes.

"I told you not to play on the grass," Karyan added.

Karlin opened his mouth and stared directly into his twin brother, "you don't even know how to properly wield magic, don't take this joy away from me!"

Karyan rolled his eyes, not wanting to argue and prove his brother wrong, he stayed silent. After all, snake magic was still the closest to him.

"And why are you attacking your brother?"

"I'm just stating facts!"

"What about mother, was she eating today?" Karyan interrupted.

Estera didn't reply.

The maid who raised the boys at the back of the mansion alone didn't want to say anything negative about their mother.

Barbara closed herself from the world after the promise of her father that he would kill both of them in front of her once he finds out which one was the cursed one.

She decided not to love them, not to care for them, not to be involved with them.

But the more the boys grew older, the harder it was becoming for her to stay away from them.

They both had cute and chubby cheeks; their hands were small and soft, and the colors of their eyes kept reminding her of the stranger she couldn't exactly recall.

He had two different pairs of eyes; one was red, and another one was golden… which one was the real one?

She always watched them silently from the corner of the window, observing how they were growing…

"She ate a lot today; now get inside!"

"Blah, blah…"

"Karlin, you should be nicer to Estera!"

"I'm nice!"

Even if both of them were twins, they carried different personalities.

While Karlin was mainly an extrovert, always wanting to explore the world, Karyan was closing himself away from everyone.

Logic and strength, that's how both of the boys were always described by the mansion's maids.

"Hey! Look! A snake!" Karlin shouted on his way back to his bedroom.

"What, where?" Karyan looked around, searching for the snake with his eyes.

"There! Look!" Karlin pointed to the west and ran towards it.

"Karlin!" Estera shouted as she chased after him.

"It could be it!" Karyan spoke out loudly as he ran after them.

But that little curiosity was the one that will end it for all…

The boys didn't know that besides Barbara, Mateo was also observing them, stalking… like a villain behind the curtains…

"Gotcha!" He shouted when he saw Karlin chase after the snake, "finally!" He closed his eyes, showing the red-black circles underneath.

Not knowing which twin was who drove him crazy, but he couldn't mercilessly kill them before providing evidence to the court first.

"Karlin!"

"Hello, snake, what is bringing you here today?" Karlin leaned closer to a small snake that just came out of its egg and made its way to his mother.

Karyan paused, and the snake paid all the attention to him.

It lowered its head, almost like bowing, acknowledging him.

"Why is the snake bowing to you, Karyan?" Karlin asked while turning back to his brother.

Estera gasped immediately, "this can't be!"

She froze.

But Mateo didn't see the full scenario; he just saw how the snake bowed to Karlin, "you son of a bitch! You were reborn!"
