5 Tatum Academy

After praying sincerely at the water fountain, Lawrence opened his eyes and proceeded to walk toward the Tatum Academy.

At the same time, people began to scramble around the water fountain. Their intention was clear as day; the gold coin that Lawrence had thrown in previously.

The water fountain was located in a neutral area where there are mainly commoners residing. Hence, when they saw a gold coin being thrown in the water fountain, it was like they had changed into a group of hyenas.

"Young Master, why did you throw the gold coin in the water fountain? Those commoners are fighting over it now." Tristina commented, explaining the commotion he had created.

People were getting injured as they threw punches at each other in hopes of obtaining the gold coin for themselves.

Who could blame them though?

A bronze coin could feed a commoner family for three days while a silver coin could feed them for at least 2 weeks. And as for a gold coin, that would mean a year of food provided on the table.

That was the reality of the Tatum Kingdom despite its prosperity. No matter how prosperous a kingdom may be, there would always be some people that could not afford a single plate of food on the table.

"The gold coin was merely my offering to the god and goddess. As for what happened afterward has nothing to do with me." Lawrence calmly replied.

He might want to save the world from destruction, but that doesn't mean he would save everyone. He was not a saint nor a hero that would be kind-hearted and forgiving.

Tristina nodded her head in understanding. She proceeded to follow behind Lawrence, making sure to protect his side if there are any dangers nearby.

While they continued to walk to the Tatum Academy, Lawrence reminded her to keep track of something.

"The gold coin I threw had some of my mana embedded there. So whoever obtains the gold coin from the water fountain, have him brought to me when the welcoming ceremony ends." He ordered.

Tristina was stunned by his meaning. 'Why would the Young Master throw the gold coin and then ask to capture the person who managed to snatch it?'

Lawrence didn't care whether Tristina understood his intention or not.

'That area is mainly for commoners and only those with the desire to survive can snatch the gold coin for themselves. If they can snatch it, then it means they have some abilities and could be nurtured for future uses.' He thought.

Sometime later, they arrived at a glamorous large entrance gate with the word Tatum Academy on the signboard. The steel gate was clad in silver color and not a single stain or rust could be seen on the steel.

At the same time, Lawrence noticed many nobles were holding a disgusted expression on their face, almost like they despised being in the Tatum Academy.

"Heh, these nobles are probably thinking that entering this academy is beneath their level and status," Lawrence smirked coldly. He understood their mindset completely because that was his thought process as well in the past.

As a noble, being associated with a commoner was like having maggots on your food.

If it weren't because of their parents forcing their offspring to enter the Tatum Academy to curry favor with the queen, then none of them would even want to be present.

"Young Master, please stay close to the right side." Tristina suddenly said, moving her body to the left side of Lawrence.

"The commoners are mainly coming from the left side, so you should keep close to the right side as much as possible." She warned.

Her words weren't wrong because Lawrence could tell the uniform and accessories of the people entering on the right side were more luxurious whereas the left side had people with wrinkled uniforms. Commoners don't have the money to afford ironing in their uniforms. Hence, their poor attire and dressing.

"I understand," Lawrence replied coolly as he proceeded to walk toward the right side.

However, he couldn't proceed further when a commotion was created in front of him.

A woman in a poorly dressed uniform was being surrounded by three below-average men. The men all had their uniforms ironed and some luxury accessories on their wrists, indicating their nobility status.

"Hey hey, don't you know this path is only for nobles to walk?"

"Exactly, you commoners are really a bunch of uneducated people that can't even understand the basics."

"Hmph, if it weren't for the benevolentness of our Queen Elizabeth, then you commoners could not even take a single step in the Tatum Academy. And to think you have the audacity to try to sneak in this path."

The three men were speaking harshly with one of them even pushing the woman to the floor.

The woman had long blonde hair and a slender waist. Her legs were long and her underwear was revealed since she fell after getting pushed. She had a pretty face, but her uniform and demeanor showcased that she was a poor commoner.

"I-I'm sorry… I didn't know there was a distinct social class in the Tatum Academy." The woman said in a timid voice.

"Q-Queen Elizabeth had stated that everyone was equal in the Tatum Academy and that no one can abuse their power using their status." She added.

"This damn wrench," One of the men scoffed in anger when he heard her trying to reason with them. He had his foot raised up high, ready to stomp at her for the rude remark.

"Stop it!"

Before he could step on her, Lawrence intervened and shouted.

"Who are you?" The man that tried to stomp at the woman turned around and asked.

When the man realized who was the one that had interrupted him, he could only stutter his words, "D-Don't you know it's common for the nobles to teach these low lives?"

The man had recognized Lawrence's identity given his pampered life and heinous crime. Therefore, he didn't dare to go overboard with his words.

Meanwhile, the commoner woman looked at Lawrence with gleaming eyes.

"T-Thank you for helping me." The woman said, thinking that he was here to help her out.

However, to everyone's disbelief and shock, Lawrence laughed coldly.

"Sorry, but did you just say I'm helping you?" He asked sarcastically.

"I merely told them to stop because they are blocking my path."
