1 Second Chance

Kent opened his eyes. Looking at the surrounding confused.

"Where am I? Weren't I been chased by the 3 tier 9 beings?

"I'm Alive?" did they capture me?

Questions pop up in his head confusing him more and more. Earlier he was being chased by three Tier 9 beings, wanting to take ownership of the treasure that he had chanced upon by luck. By completing many challenges and trials.

Being a lowly Tier 7 Kent couldn't do a thing but run. As it was common sense when one faced someone of a higher tier, the only outcome would be to be bullied or die.

Unfortunately Kent couldn't just hand over the treasure that he gain, as the treasure was extremely important for him to fulfill his long desire wish.

The treasure itself could resurrect the dead in no time, without any negative effects towards the resurrected being. So with the use of these item he could accomplish his long awaited dream, Resurrecting he's deceased sister.

When the Great Integration occurred 22 years ago. Kent and he's sister was nothing but a normal human.

The Great Integration occurred when Earth fused with the game called Genesis Era.

Genesis Era was a popular VR MMORPG that was launched on August 8, 2200 no one knew who created the game, but the game become extremely popular in a matter of day in real life. During it's early stages the game gain a lot of fame, being a game where one could experience a completely different view point in Virtual Reality.

The game was extremely popular, being that the game could make its players experience a different world sense, as the game was so realistic that it's NPC'S had its own conscious and emotions. Moreover, one could experience an increase in life span within the game, being that the time conversion between real-world and in game is scale by 1-4. One could experience a day in real world but four days in game.

The game also has its own unique structure closely resembles a fantasy novel. The game was said to be run by a unique AI called World Conscious. This AI operated the world as it generate event's without human interventions.

Unfortunately the one's fun game turned into reality. Those that weren't able to play the early stages of the game were at a disadvantage, as the real the world turned chaotic.

The world's balance crumble. Law was turned into a joke, the world change in a completely different setting were the strong devour the weak.

Kent felt extremely weaken. He's one's heaven defying body of a Tier 7 was gone, and it felt like a slug. Looking at his surrounding Kent could not figure a thing as darkness enveloped everything.

Kent tried conjuring a simple fire spell but was answered by a disappointed failure.

"What happened to my body? I couldn't feel a single bit of MANA or any energy!"

Kent grew restless in this discovery. If he couldn't conjure or control any energy how would be supposed to live in this world. The world of Genesis Era was so cruel weak people couldn't leave peacefully, as the strong devour the weak in this world.

Moreover, to be able to use the treasure, he needed MANA. There were also the requirements to use the treasure to activate it, he needed to gather 10,000 void ores and 1,000 time stones.

These two materials were extremely valuable as each of them were mythical rank materials. Just from a single time stone would cost him a hundred platinum, were one void ore would only cost him a single platinum. However, this kind of expenditure were extremely high. It would even bankrupt any second rate guild, even first-rate guilds would suffer from this kind of expenditure.

Even thought Kent was a commander of a legion. Kent couldn't possibly own such large amount of wealth, now that he couldn't use any energy. How would he supposed to gather the required materials to fulfill the requirements.

Even thought revival were possible in this game in just a small price. But reviving a person that died a long time ago was completely hard, moreover he's sister died 22 years ago while she's still a normal person.

Reviving a god like person would be much easier than reviving a normal person. Their bodies and soul couldn't handle the damage and pressure from the reviving process. Their soul doesn't possess a regeneration ability to recover from such damage. Even if the revival process were to succeed they would be nothing but an empty shell.

Kent's venture and gather information for 22 years. He joined a guild called Lone Shadows a guild focused on information gathering. With Kent's extremely high potential he was able to climbed in ranks and became a commander of a legion. The guild could only be considered to be a third rate guild at most.

The guild was able to slowly rise without problems as the guild members didn't try to offend any powers. Being that all the members were people that was new to the world and just joined and experience the Genesis Era during the Great Integration. The guild is a collaboration of refugees that survive the Great Integration and was lucky enough to slowly rise in the new world.

Unfortunately the guild wasn't spare. Other guild find there guild as an eye sour, being that their guild provide information on other guilds with sufficient payment. Causing the destruction of the guild, the few survivors hide and lie low as they don't have a place to go.

Kent walked in the dark room searching for something that could provide him with some vision. He bumped and bump on the thing's that scatter throughout the place, a few minutes later Kent found a peculiar switch. Turning the switch on a light bulb brighten the surrounding.

Kent found this peculiar, as these type of low grade technology had long since forgotten. Looking at the surrounding Kent was both surprised and dumbfounded. He could discern a familiar yet unfamiliar scenery in front of him. An old model TV tattered books, tattered sofa broken furniture's, broken windows and ceiling.

Kent found the place foreign yet familiar as sense of comfort and lounging enveloped him. Kent's venture through the room searching for something. Stopping at a nearby shelves Kent couldn't help but shred a tear. For the 22 year had passed this was the first time Kent showed a particular emotion.

Grabbing a photo album Kent felt a great sense of sadness and longing, within the album were photos of his mother, father, sister and himself.

Kent was amerced in these feelings when a sudden ring in his pocket disturb him. Grabbing that thing that been producing the sound Kent was once again surprise.

"How could their be a mobile phone in my pocket?" looking at the notification that cause the ringtone to sound. It made Kent froze at the spot.

Kent could see his sister's contact number calling him. A series of emotion enveloped Kent as he froze to the spot not moving at all. The phone rung and rung waiting to be answered. Kent snap out from his days. Quickly he clicked the green mark in the phone answering the call.

"Brother what take you so long to answer?"

"I returned to the last?" Kent thought pinching his face, feeling the pain confirming the situation a bit. This might be an illusion or some thought...

Thinking at this point Kent tried things to confirm his assumption.

"This is real I really did return to the past" as these thought Kent was overwhelmed by emotions.

Realizing the situation Kent promptly calculated everything, with his heaven defying matrix calculation that rivaled the current advance computers. Kent immediately form plans in his mind as he answered his sisters call.

"I'm sorry I suddenly fall a sleep"

"That's what I'm taking about you work too hard. You need to take care of you body and rest properly"

"I'm sorry" hearing his sister's scolding Kent could not help but cry.

"I apologize for being a useless brother, I couldn't even save you, I'm a very useless brother I'm sorry" Kent thoughts apologizing to his sister in his thoughts. "But this time even do I'm not really sure if this I reality I would do everything to protect you and make you happy" Kent thought with determination.

"Never mind please prepare a hot water I bought a piece of meat, were eating this night" Alice replied in a hurry.

"Ok take care" ending the call Kent head straight to the mirror, seeing his current young self. Kent was satisfied realizing that he really did return to the past.

He didn't give it much though, as he couldn't gain an answer in such part and would only waste his time. Moving in the kitchen Kent prepared what his sister requested to do.

Sitting back at the sofa Kent sketch and developed plans. Multiple ideas form though his mind, after a few minutes Kent immediately disposed of the sketch's.

"What I need now is money, Alice and I needed to enter Genesis Era early stages to develop and cultivate ourselves. But without money such thing isn't possible" Kent in his thoughts search though his memories on a possible solution.

Being that when the Genesis Era first debut arrive it's game price was incredibly high, moreover he also needed a virtual cabin and support drugs. Kent needed to improve himself fast with his current physics, he could only display 15% of his original strength.

Without the help of drugs and supports improving himself and his sister is closed to impossible. Most importantly as time past by the real world and Genesis Era would slowly merge changing the ecosystem of earth. MANA would slowly emerge in Earth, inhuman people would emerge destroying the current balance the world have.

Thinking on this point Kent was restless as he searched though the internet on any possible way, where he could earn a large some money in a sort time.
