The sea stretched out before the massive cruise ship, a vast expanse of azure beauty that seemed to touch the very edge of the horizon. As the Blackthorn family embarked on their journey from the Johto region to Hoenn, they found themselves surrounded by the breathtaking splendor of the Pokémon world's oceans.

The water shimmered under the golden rays of the sun, casting a mesmerizing dance of light and shadow upon its surface. Each cresting wave held a story—a tale of adventure and mystery waiting to be discovered beneath the tranquil surface.

As the ship cut through the gentle waves, Pokémon of all shapes and sizes could be seen frolicking in the sea. Schools of vibrant Magikarp glimmered like jewels as they leaped gracefully into the air, their scales catching the sunlight and creating a dazzling display of colors. Wingulls soared overhead, their elegant wings outstretched as they rode the ocean breeze with effortless grace. Closer to the shore, playful Finneon darted in and out of the crystal-clear waters, their iridescent scales twinkling like stars in the night sky.

But it wasn't just the Pokémon that made the sea so enchanting. The Blackthorn family had spared no expense in ensuring that their journey was one of absolute comfort and luxury. The cruise ship itself was a marvel of engineering, a grand vessel that glided effortlessly through the water, its sleek design cutting a graceful silhouette against the horizon. Onboard, spacious cabins and elegant lounges provided the perfect retreat for weary travelers, while gourmet dining options offered a tantalizing array of culinary delights to tantalize the taste buds.

As the day gave way to night, the sea took on a magical quality, the moon casting a silvery sheen upon the water as it rose majestically into the sky. Countless stars dotted the heavens above, their twinkling light reflected in the mirror-like surface of the sea below. It was a scene of unparalleled beauty, a breathtaking spectacle that filled the hearts of all who beheld it with wonder and awe.

Seated at the forefront of the ship, with the vast expanse of the ocean stretching out before us, Lance, Claire, and I embarked on our nighttime fishing expedition. The gentle sway of the ship beneath us was soothing, and the cool breeze carried the salty scent of the sea.

Behind us, Isabel lounged comfortably in a plush cruise chair, her presence adding an air of relaxed elegance to the scene. All three of us held special fishing rods, crafted by the skilled artisans of the Blackthorn family. With hopeful anticipation, we cast our lines into the moonlit waters, eager to see what treasures the sea might yield.

Despite our efforts and the passage of two hours spent in patient pursuit, our catches remained disappointingly ordinary. Lance and Claire, ever enthusiastic, exchanged hopeful glances with each cast, our youthful optimism undiminished by our lack of success. But even as we reeled in our lines, empty-handed, we did so with a sense of reverence for the Pokémon that inhabited these waters.

With each release of a Pokémon back into the ocean, we acknowledged the delicate balance of nature and our responsibility to respect it. My increased affinity with Pokémon, a result of my training and experiences, did little to sway the outcome of our endeavor. Perhaps the presence of the two Epic Stage Pokémon that guarded our ship served as a deterrent to the rarer species we sought. Yet, undeterred by our lack of luck, we persisted, driven by a shared determination to make the most of our time together.

As the night wore on, the gentle lapping of the waves against the hull of the ship provided a soothing backdrop to our efforts. The stars above twinkled brightly, casting a soft glow over the tranquil scene. Despite our initial hopes of landing a rare catch, we found solace in the simple pleasure of being together, surrounded by the beauty of the nighttime sea.

"Oh! Oh! Oh! It's a bite! It's a bite!" Claire's excited voice cut through the quiet night air once more, her youthful enthusiasm infectious as she eagerly tended to her fishing line. It seemed that luck favored our little Claire today, as she had already managed to reel in more catches than I had. With a mix of anticipation and curiosity, I watched as she clumsily maneuvered her rod, her determination evident in the way she focused on her task.

As Claire struggled with her catch, the tension in the air heightened, drawing my attention away from my own fishing line. Even I found myself intrigued by the challenge this particular Pokémon presented, as it seemed to put up more resistance than the others she had caught earlier. With each tug on the line, the mystery of what lay beneath the surface deepened, fueling our anticipation.

With a final, determined effort, Claire successfully pulled the Pokémon to the surface, her face illuminated by the soft glow of the moonlight reflecting off the water. As the creature emerged from the depths, I couldn't help but marvel at its beauty and strength.

As I observed the unfamiliar Pladea region Pokémon emerging from the waters of the Johto Sea, I was taken aback. We were still near the borders of the Johto Sea region, and Samuel Oak and his team of other leading researchers had yet to introduce the Pokédex to the world to document such encounters. From my knowledge, the current League had minimal information about Pokémon from other regions, especially the elusive Paldea region. The Pokémon world remained shrouded in mystery, even in my previous life as a peak legendary-class trainer.

Even with my expertise, I couldn't confidently claim to have explored every corner of the Pokémon world. There were many uncharted territories where mythical-class Pokémon acted as guardians, and not all Pokémon were friendly to humans. If their territories were intruded upon, they would retaliate with fierce vengeance.

Recalling the first time I laid eyes on the Charcadet eggs, along with eggs from various other regions brought back by the expedition team, I realized how little humans truly knew about the Pokémon world. Lost in thought about the rarity of Pokémon from other regions, I was startled to see Claire releasing her Charmander to engage in combat with the Quaxly, despite her Pokémon still being in the Bronze stage.

Isabel, who had been resting leisurely, also took an interest in the new Pokémon, watching Quaxly with keen interest. The Pokémon seemed nervous, sensing Isabel's presence and the aura of her ghost-type Pokémon, which responded to Isabel's aura. It was common practice for trainers, especially those of champion class and above, to raise high-level ghost Pokémon as a safeguard against ambushes from other ghost types.

"Charmander, use Flamethrower!" Claire's voice rang out as she commanded her Pokémon, undeterred by the unfamiliar opponent. As the flames erupted from Charmander's mouth, the Quaxly retaliated with a powerful hydro pump, overwhelming Charmander's attack.

"Charmander, dodge quickly!" Claire urged her Pokémon, who nimbly evaded the oncoming torrent of water. Despite Charmander's potential, the disparity in strength between the Bronze and Gold stages was evident. Sensing its disadvantage, Charmander retreated and sought refuge behind Claire. However, the Quaxly remained wary, still mindful of the ghostly aura emanating from Isabel's shadow.

I couldn't help but chuckle at the scene unfolding before me, amused by Claire's determination and the cautiousness of the Quaxly. Curious to see if Isabel's ghost pokemon had made any advancements in the last two years, I checked the stats of the Pokémon hidden beneath Isabel's shadows.

Isabel's Shedinja seemed to have hit a plateau in its growth for this lifetime, despite my relentless efforts. It appeared that this Pokémon had already reached the peak growth that its potential and bloodline allowed despite being around for more than a millennium, a considerable feat for a Pokémon of its caliber. Perhaps the only way for Shedinja to surpass this barrier would be to acquire some super rare mythical-grade treasures or receive a blessing from a legendary Pokémon to enhance its potential. Despite my extensive knowledge and expertise, I couldn't unlock the full potential of every Pokémon. The initial pedigree and bloodline of a Pokémon played a crucial role in determining its capabilities.

Certain Pokémon were designated as having pseudo-legendary bloodlines for a reason. These Pokémon had the highest likelihood of reaching pseudo-legendary status compared to others. In the wild, a pseudo-legendary Pokémon following its natural growth curve had a significant chance of ascending to pseudo-legendary status.

However, for species like Beedrill, even reaching the palladium stage would be a monumental task with its natural growth curve, so even if I were to intervene with such pokemon, at best I could push them to the Aurora stage. Nature had its way of maintaining balance, ensuring that pseudo-legendary bloodlines remained rare and sparse, while Pokémon with normal bloodlines had a higher population and procreation rate. It was simply the law of nature, balancing quality with quantity.

This natural balance ensured that the Pokémon world remained diverse and dynamic, with each species contributing its own unique strengths and characteristics to the ecosystem. Despite the challenges faced by Pokémon like Shedinja, they play an essential role in maintaining the delicate balance of nature.

"It's certainly an unusual duck Pokémon," Isabel remarked, observing the Quaxly as it awkwardly edged toward the ship's edge, seemingly eager to dive into the sea. Its movements were clumsy and uncoordinated, betraying its discomfort.

"It's a Quaxly, Grandma Isabel," I chimed in, offering some insight. "It hails from a distant region. While it's rare to see one here, especially a female, its potential isn't particularly impressive. Perhaps we should just let it go." I spoke with a smile, mindful of the Pokémon's agitation. With my heightened affinity toward Pokémon, I could sense its unease, and I didn't want to exacerbate its distress.

Just then, we heard the flustered, clumsy footsteps of someone sprinting toward us, interrupting our conversation.

"It's a new Pokemon that I have never witnessed!" Surprise was etched on Oak's face; his expression matched that of little Claire. The most respected professor in the world became a child when it came to dealing with Pokemon, maybe it was because of this quality in him that led to Celebi's blessing.

Meanwhile, in another part of the ship, Archer meticulously took note of all the details—the manpower, their approximate strengths, and any potential vulnerabilities. His boss, Giovanni, had issued direct orders for him to assist one of the three main executives who was planning something significant at the upcoming event in the Hoenn Region. It had been almost five decades since Archer had become the assistant to the greatest professor, silently gathering research information from Oak that had greatly empowered Team Rocket over the past half-century.

As Archer attempted to access a restricted area within the cruise ship, a cough from behind interrupted him. Instinctively, he reached for his Pokéball, but he quickly composed himself and turned slowly.

"Sir! You're with Professor Oak's party, correct? This is a restricted area. Please return to your room or the common area," a Blackthorn family guard emerged from the shadows, informing Archer with a stern tone.

"Oh, my apologies. I thought this was the way to the professor's temporary research room. This cruise ship is quite vast; it's left me a bit disoriented." Archer attempted to portray his confusion, offering a feeble laugh.

"Sir, that's on the upper deck. If you'd like, we can assign a dedicated Blackthorn guard to assist you in finding the right directions," the guard offered sincerely, willing to help Archer navigate the ship.

Flustered, Archer quickly interjected, "No, no. There's no need for that. I'll find my way back to the upper deck myself. Thank you for your assistance." With that, Archer hurriedly made his way through the ship to the upper deck, his pace far too swift for someone genuinely lost.

A minute after Archer had departed, Elder Theron emerged from the shadows, his gaze piercing in the direction where Archer had vanished. Informed by me of Archer's true allegiance, Elder Theron had been instructed to keep an eye on him discreetly, as Archer played a crucial role in my upcoming plans.

"Did you get an estimate of his strength?" Elder Theron inquired, though it wasn't the guard who responded. His shadow ominously split and merged with Elder Theron's, and for a brief moment, he conversed with his ghost Pokémon.

"Ah, you sensed the presence of a Palladium stage ghost Pokémon in his shadow. No wonder," Elder Theron chuckled to himself, turning to the guard. "Tighten security, but don't startle him. Let the rat scurry around the ship, unaware that he's already been noticed."

With that, Elder Theron returned to his other duties, while the guard set out to carry Elder Theron's orders.

***************************

In a secluded mansion in the middle of an untamed wilderness, the Chairman of the Pokémon League awaited patiently in the grand waiting hall. Situated in the heart of the true wilderness beyond the known northern border of the Kanto region, Cape Cottage stood as the smallest town in the nearest vicinity, several hundred miles away. The chairman, a Champion stage Pokémon trainer, felt distinctly uneasy venturing into such a perilous area.

Thus, he was accompanied by a retinue of nearly half a dozen Master-class Pokémon trainers from the League. Unlike the other legacy families, the League didn't boast a deep foundation, so mobilizing such a considerable force stretched their resources thin. However, the Chairman deemed it necessary to make this trip personally; to do otherwise would risk offending the esteemed individual he was here to meet—a true legendary-class trainer.

As the Chairman waited patiently in the room, a large Seviper slithered into view from the corner, its sinuous body winding its way towards the exposed back of the Chairman's chair. The ghost Pokémon in the Chairman's shadow reacted, sending warning signals, but it was powerless to do more. The Seviper exuded a gloomy poison aura that hinted at its formidable strength, far surpassing the Palladium stage. It could even be a peak Palladium stage, or perhaps even an Aurora stage Pokémon. Though the Chairman was aware of the impending threat, he dared not move, his body drenched in sweat despite his efforts to remain composed. Even his meticulously tailored suit was soaked through.

The Seviper slithered silently behind the couch where the Chairman sat, its menacing hiss filling the air as it opened its gaping maw, ready to swallow him whole. Just as the Chairman braced himself for the inevitable, an eerie voice echoed from the depths of the house.

"Get lost! He is not your prey. Go and hunt something outside the mansion."

An old man, appearing to be in his seventies, strode into the waiting room with a commanding presence, his entry majestic and imposing. The poisonous aura surrounding him made the Chairman's heart skip a beat, and he instinctively rose to his feet, unsure whether it was out of fear or respect.

As the old man stepped into the room, his mere presence seemed to command the very air around him. A shroud of mystery enveloped him, and his eyes, gleaming with ancient knowledge, seemed to pierce through the very soul of the Chairman. The dim light of the room danced off his weathered features, casting eerie shadows that seemed to shift and writhe with unseen energy.

The Chairman, though attempting to maintain his composure, couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine as he met the old man's gaze. It was as if he stood before a force of nature, an entity beyond mortal comprehension.

Sensing the palpable tension in the air, the old man's voice cut through the silence like a razor. "State your reason for intruding upon my domain, Chairman," he demanded, his tone laced with a hint of amusement.

The Chairman, acutely aware of the precariousness of his situation, straightened his posture, though his nerves still tingled with apprehension. "I have come up with a proposal that may benefit both of us," he replied, his voice betraying a flicker of uncertainty.

The old man's response was swift, a derisive scoff echoing through the room like a clap of thunder. "And what makes you think that a mere league can offer anything of value to someone as esteemed as me?" he retorted, his eyes narrowing with thinly veiled contempt. He gestured toward the Chairman with a dismissive wave of his hand, as if swatting away an insignificant insect.

"You Worm! You should either be truly brave or absolutely foolish, thinking that you could come here and talk to me about cooperation like you are my equal, but I am sure you are of the stupid sort."

Just then, the heavy wooden door groaned open, admitting the massive form of a Rhyperior into the room. Its footsteps reverberated through the floorboards, each thud echoing like a drumbeat of impending doom. In its grasp were the lifeless bodies of two of the League's master class trainers, their forms limp and broken. Blood seeped from their wounds, staining the floor crimson in macabre patterns.

The Seviper at the old man's side hissed eagerly, its forked tongue flicking out to taste the scent of fresh blood in the air. Its eyes gleamed with a primal hunger, a predatory glint that sent shivers down the Chairman's spine.

With a disdainful snort from the old man, the Rhyperior tossed the bodies toward the awaiting snake. They landed with a sickening thud, their lifeless eyes staring blankly into the abyss.

The Chairman stood frozen in horror, his mind reeling with the realization of his perilous predicament. He knew that if he wished to escape this encounter with his life intact, he would need to tread carefully. His words, once filled with bravado, now faltered as he struggled to find the right approach.

"My Lord! Please forgive my insolence; I am here to plead for your assistance in a certain matter," he began, his voice trembling with a newfound humility. "Your assistance will be of paramount importance in securing our victory."

The old man's lips curled into a sardonic smile, his eyes glinting with amusement at the Chairman's sudden change in demeanor. "Oh, your puny League wants to go to war with a Legacy family?" he mocked, his voice dripping with scorn. "So tell me, which third-rated legacy family have you chosen? Maybe I can think of sending one or two of my Pokémon to assist you if the target seems interesting enough."

The Chairman recoiled at the old man's taunts, but he knew that he had no choice but to press on. "Blackthorn family," he uttered, his voice barely above a whisper.

In an instant, the old man's demeanor shifted, his expression contorting into one of rage and indignation. Anger coursed through his veins like molten lava, his aura pulsating with raw power.

"Do you know what you've done, fool?" he hissed, his voice a venomous whisper. "The Blackthorns are not to be trifled with. They are a force to be reckoned with, a legacy that spans generations. And you, you dare to challenge them?"

The Chairman, now trembling with fear, began to detail the League's plans for the complete eradication of the Blackthorn family, his words pouring forth in a desperate torrent. He recounted their strategies, their strengths, and their weaknesses, laying bare the very heart of their plot.

The old man's laughter rang out like the tolling of a funeral bell, each peal filled with a cruel mirth that sent shivers down the Chairman's spine. "You truly are a fool," he chuckled, his voice laced with contempt. "Do you really think that you and your League can hold a candle against the Blackthorns? How much more naive can you get?"

As the reality of his folly dawned upon him, the Chairman could only watch in silent horror as his fate hung precariously in the balance.
