29 Conquering of a kingdom

After taking over the castle, Cyrus had left a fifty Paraginion troop to run the place. The rest would go deeper into the kingdom.

"Cyrus, what land actually lays beyond the Paraginion lands?" Smith asked as he didn't know.

Cyrus turned towards Smith.

"there is no land beyond that of ours, our leader has proven it , but there actually is something else out there."

"it's called the death stripe."

"do you really not know anything about it?" Cyrus asked

"no, it also didn't appear on the map that the Paraginions showed me, and their also wasn't anything written in the humans their book." Smith said.

"then I'll explain a bit more, the death stripe doesn't actually lay only next to our home but also the human kingdom and I don't mean the one we are invading at the moment, it surrounds us, all of us. "

"okay, but why do you then call it the death stripe?"

"because once you enter it, you don't return."

After that small talk they reached a village which the other troops quickly raided and burned down.

Not much later they reached the house of a noble, they couldn't do anything as they only recently had received a new lord and they also hadn't received any Intel on the invasion of the Paraginions.

The same happened to the nearby noble lords or lady's.

And evantually they reached the old duke's city. Smith participated in this raid as he wanted to see what do humans had restored.

Most of the houses were rebuild and not far away from the previous Dukes residents stood an iron statue of him.

The Paraginions also quicky took this city over as it hadn't received a new Duke but a normal noble lord, and he almost didn't have any soldiers.

Cyrus decided that this would be their second outpost, but this time he stationd three hundred Paraginions here.

Then they headed out again. They discovered new village's.

Destroyed them.

They discovered a new city.

Took it over.

Their numbers started to get lower and lower the farther they went in land.

Smith didn't question this tactic as he didn't really care.

After some time it was only Smith, Cyrus and a hundered Paraginions who were left.

They had conquered the last city before they would reach the Capital.

They stopped their conquest here for some time as a hundered Paraginions wouldn't be enough to conquer a place where over half a million humans were.

"so what's the plan now" Smith asked with a bored look.

"they are bringing the main raid group over now, they should've already reached the elven cathedral." Cyrus said.

"how many" Smith asked

"a hundred thousand"

"King Henry, all the city's to the South have stopped reporting to our messages"

"so it's almost time" king Henry said.

"Head General, I want everyone to be ready it may be our last month on this kingdom."

The king then looked around "I want everyone to leave, I want to have a moment of peace."

"Yes, king!"

Everyone slowly left the throne room, once everyone had left the king started to speak again.

"Richard, contact my uncle, and say that I'll accept his request if he helps defending my kingdom."

A shadow behind a pillar in the throne room started to shake, and slowly a man walked out behind it.

"I will do as the king demandeds" he then bowed and left trough the shadows.

King Henry exhaled a flash of green fazed in front of his eyes. 'I'll crush those bastards even if it's the last thing I'll do'.

Two months later

...

Smith who was sleeping soundly slowly opened his eyes as he felt that the ground started to tremble.

He ran out the house he was resting in and jumped on the wall looking towards the south.

There he could see thousands of lizards marching next to each other and in the front he could see five different ones, they all had a different color separating them from the rest.

Cyrus appeared not much later next to Smith with a smile "they've finally arrived"

Not much later the troops arrived before the city, they then quickly started to set up camp.

Only the five special ones entered the city and were greeted by Cyrus and Smith.

Smith looked at all of them, he felt that the first one to enter also was the strongest one he had light brown streaks running down his body which weren't that noticeable, the others we're all on Cyrus level.

"Greetings Axton" Cyrus said to the first one who entered, he then also greeted the rest.

Harlan, he had a bit of a metallic look to him then Aithne she looked a bit like Cyrus only difference was that she was a female, how could you notice the difference between the two, well one had breasts who were out in the open and the others, well you just recognize them as a fellow male.

The other three were also female, Kutsa, she had blue streaks running down her body, the other two also had blue streaks but they weren't so bright.

There names we're Amaya and Avonlea.

They all then greeted Smith, but they looked a bit weird at him, they then stopped looking at him as Cyrus had started to tell his plan on how to take the Capital.

Smith also listened but he couldn't understand everything, as he still hadn't fully comprehend the language they were speaking.

And Cyrus also never bothered explaining it to him, well Smith didn't need to understand the Language, because he had his own plans in the end.
