The forbidden forest.

Eldric looked at the tall trees and the same semi-transparent barrier that he had observed the last time when he went out of the estate with Epine. The ground had a red hue to it, the same as the tree bark. The wind was strong and caused the branches to lightly dance around to its tune.

Despite the sun being on full display, the tall trees made it hard for the sunlight to escape and the snow to filter through turning the entire forest dim and moist.

He couldn't help but think how it was much eerier when observed at a close distance. It was the perfect place to shoot a horror film.

*Knock* *Knock*

Having heard a knock on the windows, Eldric's hand went to remove the curtains. What greeted him was the face of Jackson, the guards' commander.

Eldric evidently couldn't hear from behind the secured glass window, but he got the message nonetheless when he saw the black-haired man nod and gesture to himself and the other knights behind him.
