1 Chapter 1 : Memories

In a dimly lit room, young Shen Xi lay in bed, still recovering from the fever that had gripped her the previous day, rendering her unconscious. A cold towel was placed gently on her forehead, providing some relief. As her eyelids fluttered open, she surveyed her surroundings— a simple room, yet comforting in its familiarity.

With an attempt to sit up, the door to the room creaked open, and in walked Nanny Ma, a woman of gentle disposition who had cared for Shen Xi since she was an infant. "Fifth young miss, you woke up?" Nanny Ma inquired softly, her warm smile trying to alleviate the young girl's discomfort. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine, nanny Ma," Shen Xi responded in a childish voice, offering a small smile.

The woman's eyes widened in disbelief at the clear and articulate response. "Oh my God, young miss! Have you just spoken properly?" she exclaimed, a mix of astonishment and joy in her expression.

Shen Xi merely smiled, acknowledging the transformation that had taken place within her.

Nanny Ma's elation overflowed as she fervently expressed her gratitude to the heavens. "Miss, you are not an idiot anymore. I knew the heavens would not let us down, and the spirit of madam would not let us down."

Indeed, the change was remarkable.

The previous Shen Xi, bound by some limitations, would have struggled to communicate or respond appropriately to her nanny. She pronounced her first words and started walking very late. Even at five years old she still could not speak properly or make a complete sentence. She was labeled as an idiot and considered a disgrace by her family members. Because of that, she was bullied a lot by her little cousins and their friends. They would accuse her of things she has not done and since she could not defend herself, she could only take the blame. Even her father did not care much about her. He would blame her every time these kinds of situations arise.

But this new version of Shen Xi was different. She was not an idiot anymore. The reason why Shen Xi was stupid in the past was because a part of her soul was in a dormant state. When she fainted last night, she recovered the part of her soul that contained memories of her past life, catalyzing this remarkable change.

As Nanny Ma checked on her health, Shen Xi's stomach growled in hunger. Nanny Ma rose promptly, stating, "Wait a moment, young miss. I'll fetch your breakfast."

"Okay, nanny Ma."

With her departure, the smile on Shen Xi's face gradually faded. She began the arduous task of organizing her memories and thoughts.

In her previous life, her name was also Shen Xi. Born into a world embroiled in the tumultuous year of 3850 on the Blue Planet, Shen Xi emerged amidst an era of rapid evolution. The early 30th century witnessed a significant upheaval as dungeons began sprouting across the globe. These enigmatic structures, left unattended, would detonate, unleashing ferocious beasts upon the land. The ensuing chaos led to the destruction of numerous cities and even entire countries, leaving a scarred world in their wake. It was during these turbulent times that humanity experienced a metamorphosis, awakening dormant talents and abilities within.

Termed as hunters or ability users, humans started harnessing powers beyond their previous comprehension. These newfound abilities were meticulously classified, ranging from the weakest F class to the strongest SSS class. 

There was also the enigmatic and legendary X class, a pinnacle attained by a mere trio of individuals throughout the 1000 years of warfare. Shen Xi was the last one to awaken an X class ability, however, her ability remained unknown to her till her death.

In her previous life, Shen Xi grappled with the harsh realities of poverty. 

Born to a destitute family, her father, a class E soldier, perished in a dungeon while her mother was pregnant. 

Shen Xi unlocked two SSS-class abilities – Ice and Space and an unknown X-class ability at the tender age of nine, a prodigious talent that set her on a fateful path. Subsequently, she was taken away by the military for rigorous training, a journey that shaped her destiny in unforeseen ways.

As destiny would have it, Shen Xi became embroiled in the last great war of the third millennium — a cataclysmic event where she faced a formidable adversary, the dragon Kashkar. Battling valiantly, she sustained fatal injuries and died after plunging her ice sword in the dragon's heart.

The ancient world she was reborn in was very similar to her original world's historical period in terms of language and culture. The only difference was the fact that abilities and talents already existed in this ancient world while they only appeared on Blue Planet in the 2500s. 

However, those abilities and talents were very rare (one out of a thousand) and were not very strong from what Shen Xi had seen in her seven years of memories in this new world.

'I need to gather more information on this world.' She thought.

After gathering her thoughts together, Shen XI tried to see if her abilities in her past life were still there.

She opened her palm. A thin thread of ice appeared on top of it shining beautifully. She closed her eyes and tried to feel her space ability. She was able to feel her space ability but she could not use it for the moment as she had no energy. As her X-class ability was unknown to her before she died, she did not know how to verify it. She was already very happy with her two SSS-class abilities since she now has a way to protect herself in this unfamiliar place.

As Shen Xi pondered her future steps in this ancient world, Nanny Ma returned, carrying a plate with two dishes. The aroma of the food filled the room, grounding Shen Xi in the reality of her journey, one where her past met her present, propelling her toward a destiny she was only beginning to comprehend.
