4 Chapter: 4

*Hodr's POV*

Mother is really a powerful magician, more than what was shown in MCU, I don't know why she died in the movies but that certainly wouldn't happen this time because she is one of the frlew people I care about in this place.

"Well I have already thaught you Enchantment, Illusions and Emotional Resonance. You really are talented in everything huh, my son. Even when you only started 10 years ago you already learned three of the things that I picked upon in my life and mastered all of them but you know I have something more exciting for you today :- Runic Magic."

She said with a motherly smile on her face. My curiosity piqued. Runic Magic wasn't something we had delved into extensively during my previous lessons.

*Narrator's POV*

Meanwhile, in the grandeur of the court, Odin, the All-Father, held discussions with his trusted advisor, Mimir, the venerable sage whose wisdom had guided Asgard through countless epochs. The atmosphere was charged with the weight of the ongoing conquests and the strategic decisions that would shape the destiny of Asgard.

Odin, seated on his majestic throne, exuded an aura of authority that demanded attention. Mimir, with his keen insights and knowledge, stood ready to offer counsel. The realm's map spread before them, marked with the conquered territories and the remaining realms yet to be subdued.

"Odin, our forces have made significant advances, securing Vanaheim and Alfheim. However, the battles are taxing our resources, and the losses in manpower are substantial," Mimir reported, his voice carrying the weight of centuries of experience.

Odin, with a stern expression, contemplated the map before him. The conquests were progressing, but the toll on Asgard's forces couldn't be ignored. The delicate balance of power required strategic decisions to maintain dominance.

"We must press forward, Mimir. The time is ripe to extend our rule to the formidable realm of Jotunheim. It doesn't hold much of a strategic value but it will help to strengthen our army by forcing the Frost giants to join the efforts." Odin declared, his eye gleaming with the intensity of a ruler driven by conquest.

Mimir nodded, acknowledging the strategy to concoure Jotunheim in the ongoing campaign. "Very well, Odin. Our forces shall prepare for the next assault on Jotunheim."

However, Odin's gaze shifted, and a thoughtful expression crossed his face. "There's one more matter to consider. I've decided to send my children, Hodr and Hela, to lead our forces in the conquest of Jotunheim."

Mimir raised an eyebrow, surprised by this unexpected decision. "Both of them, my lord?"

"Yes. Hodr's strength is unmatched, and Hela's prowess in battle is undeniable. It's time they prove their leadership on the front lines. Jotunheim poses its own challenges, and even if they do fail in the conquest the lose wouldn't effect us much right now. " Odin explained.

Mimir, ever wise, bowed his head in acceptance. "As you command, All-Father. I shall relay your orders to prepare them for the journey."

The thing that both of them didn't notice was the shining eyes in there shadows.

*Hodr's POV*

So Odin is sending us to the war, well it will be alright I think? I don't think there is anyone strong enough right now in Jotunheim to challenge me and Hela.

"Where is your mind right now Hodr, are you even listening?"

"Nothing, just thinking to myself Mother and I am paying full attention you don't have to worry about that."

"Oh really then let's test how much you remember all right. Then tell the what is Asgardian Magic and what can you do with it ?"

"From what you have told me mother, from magic we can do anything as long as we have enough magical energy to do the said task. So basically you can change reality as you wish as long as you know how to and have enough power to do so."

"Hmm now give me demonstrations on the magics that I will tell you to do alright."

And just like that the rest of our session progressed and when it ended I thought why not visit Hela and see what she is doing, It would've been good if she was able to attend the magic classes with me it's just unfortunate that she doesn't have much talent for magic and whenever I try to teach her she always says that it's for weak as rest of the Asgardians says. Stupid brainless brawler a lots of them.

"Hela, my sister. Can you stop training for some time and rest a little, you know that resting is also important right?" It's not like she is going to get hurt but still, a little rest would be great for her health and she wouldn't listen that. "Let's go to Medina and relax a little alright and if you refuse I wouldn't duel with you the next time you ask me to." I said to her and watching her face contorted in a mix of annoyance and reluctance. Hela paused, her sword still in hand, and shot me a sharp look.

I chuckled, at how cute she looked there "Plus, I heard there's a new mead hall in Medina with the finest brew in all the realms."

She smirked at me and said "Fine, I'll entertain your notion of rest. But don't expect me to slow down in our next duel."

*Hela's POV*

The clang of metal echoed on the training grounds as I relentlessly practiced my swordplay. Today's spar with Hodr left a lingering taste of frustration. How did he manage to outmaneuver me every time? It gnawed at me, a constant itch demanding attention.

In an attempt to understand, I replayed his moves in my mind, each strike and parry dissected for clues. Hodr's strength was undeniable, his prowess on full display. A mixture of annoyance and admiration surged within me. What was it about his technique that eluded me?

Just as I delved into deciphering his tactics, Hodr's voice disrupted my thoughts. "Hela, my sister. Can you stop training for some time and rest a little? You know that resting is also important, right?" His words were genuine, but my initial response was a feigned mix of annoyance and reluctance.

"Let's go to Medina and relax a little, alright? And if you refuse, I wouldn't duel with you the next time you ask me to." His proposition hung in the air, and I couldn't help but feel a flicker of warmth beneath my tough exterior.

A smirk tugged at my lips as I sheathed my sword. "Fine, I'll entertain your notion of rest. But don't expect me to slow down in our next duel." My words carried a playful challenge, concealing the fact that his concern didn't go unnoticed.

As we walked towards Medina, my thoughts swirled. Hodr, my infuriatingly strong brother, cared enough to interrupt my training for a moment of respite. The pretense of reluctance was just that—a facade. I may be the Goddess of Death, but in that moment, the idea of spending time with Hodr, even if just for mead and relaxation, felt oddly comforting.
