28 The Past Remains The Same

"Mom, I have some money..."

Rose decides not to borrow money from her mother. She will think of a way to achieve her goals. After all, if her mother really got cancer, her mother would definitely need more money for treatment. She didn't want to burden her any longer.

Molly looked at her daughter, unsure. She might not be well informed about starting a startup company. Still, she knows how much money is needed to create and run a business. What's more, her daughter insists on starting her business in the capital.

"Do you really have money? Don't lie to your mother…." This time Molly's voice sounded serious.

Rose was taken aback when she saw her mother's eyes looking straight into her. She can see her mother trying to read her expression. Whether she told the truth or lied.

"Of course, mom! So far, I have never used the money you gave me. Besides, I earn money from translating documents for my professor. And, have you forgotten that your child is a genius? So that I can get a full scholarship…."

Molly felt relieved. It's been a while since she suspected that her daughter was doing something terrible to raise money for her ventures.

Later…

Molly took her wallet and placed a platinum card in her daughter's hand.

"Daughter, take it. This is your money. I save some money every month in this bank account. I was going to give it to you when you got married. But, I think I'll give it now because I know you need more money to start a business. Your savings are definitely not enough…." Molly convinced her daughter to accept the card.

Rose was utterly speechless.

How could she forget about this card? Her mother also gave her this card in her past life when she married Dustin. And the amount of money on the card was quite a lot to build an entertainment company. The company she made with her own money is run by Dustin. While her? She is just sitting in the house, never involved with the company or its business.

"M-Mom… this card, are you sure you will give it to me?" Rose looked straight at her mother's eyes. She forgot how often she has admired how beautiful her mother's eyes are, which are very similar to hers.

Molly nods while smiling at her daughter, "This card belongs to you. So, just accept it. And use that card to build your startup company. Even though the value is not much, I'm sure it's enough to build a small-cap business, right?"

Rose was in touch with her mother's words.

"Thank you, mom. I will use this money wisely. I promise you, I will bring you soon to the capital…." Rose continued her words as she wiped the tears flowing down her cheeks. She couldn't help but cry even though she had tried to hold back her tears when she was in front of her mother. She didn't want her mother to feel distraught.

"Stop crying, okay?! Why are you sad when you should be happy?" Molly scolds her crying baby. Even when she cries, her beauty is still visible. Her blushing nose and cheeks make her look like a living doll.

"I'm not sad. I'm just touched that you saved money for my marriage…." She lied. She was sad because she remembered her past. She still remembers how hurt she was back then. After sacrificing enough for that scumbag, she offered her youth, money, feelings, and future. He changed. Totally changed from before they got married.

"I'm your mother. If not me, who else will give you a wedding present?" Molly smiles. In this world, she only has her daughter. She would do anything for her only daughter. She will give her the best so that she can be happy.

Rose, getting sad. This time she didn't lie to her mother. This time she was crying because she was so touched. Her mother is her best friend, the only human she respects and is willing to give her life if needed.

Since she was born, she only knew her mother. Their bond was so strong that they could understand each other without saying anything.

Soon they both finished their lunch and went back to the hospital to wait for the medical check-up result.

It was not long before the result finally came out.

They were both sitting in front of the gray-haired senior Doctor, wearing gold-rimmed glasses.

Before entering the Doctor's room, Rose was so worried when she saw the writing on the door; Oncology Specialist Dr. George Wilner.

"Ms. Wilson, I'm sorry to inform you. The results of your early examination declared you have breast cancer, probably stage 3 cancer. However, we have to do a series of other tests, and will decide what we have to do next…."

Molly froze when she heard Doctor George Wilner explain her illness. At this moment, she didn't understand what he was saying. She sat quietly, looking at him, and only nodded slowly when asked. Her mind suddenly didn't function normally.

Even when the Doctor smiled at her trying to calm her down, she couldn't say anything.

"Don't worry, Ms. Wilson. There is a significant chance that you will be cancer-free..." Doctor George Wilner continues his words.

Seeing her mother just sitting beside her without responding to the Doctor makes Rose worry. Her mother must be shocked now.

Rose immediately took over the conversation with the Doctor. She asked what they had to do and prepare. She also asked the Doctor to do her best to aid her mother. And her mother treated her as soon as possible to minimize the spread of cancer cells.

As for the cost?

It is not a problem for her. The important thing is that her mother is healthy. She could afford whatever fees the hospital charged.

Right now, what worries her is; that her mother's past remains the same. She couldn't be sad or even afraid. She had been in the same position before, so her only option was to be more sturdy and intelligent to face this ordeal. Hoping the new future will be changed for the better.
