1 Black

All through my existence all I can remember is death. Stabbed, blown up, and most recently having my head and spine pulled out of my body in front of my newest mother in some unknown world.

It seems the higher being thats placed me in this predicament is having troubles to find a spot for me as death has not become permanent. Seventy-four times I've watched my own death that its become numbing. I just want to live.

Each time I've been placed in bodies where the previous owner just died, seconds to minutes later a sword peirces my heart, or im having my throat crushed by some six legged creature, attempting to hold the blood from flowing from my then body.

My first life was peaceful, I grew up in Etheria as a guard, with a family and a purpose to protect the upper kingdom. It wasn't until a wayward arrow from a training session brought me to my knees wondering whats happening, seeing my friends rush up and console me before the world turned black.

A simple accident put me through this hellish nightmare of attempting to jump from body to body, just to be born into some useless creature bent on dying minutes after due to suicide hoping for permanent peace.

Each time there is a period of black, where time is irrelevant and I don't know how long I'm left to my own thoughts and memories. I've felt I've lived my own life thousands of times waiting until the time where I can run free in whatever world I'm placed in, the longest survival rate being 3 weeks.

Then a change happened, the black seemed as if it was fading, I could hear a static noise and what felt like water rushing but I couldn't place where I was. I could tell I was alone so was I hearing things?

I couldn't speak, but I could open my eyes, a faint reddish hue and darkness was all I could see for what seemed like miles, all the while picking up on occasional noises that I couldn't make out where they were coming from.

It wasn't until a lifetime of my thoughts later that I felt the atmosphere around me drop, feeling like I was getting sucked with it that I realized that death was awaiting me again. But just as that thought began to surface I felt contact of something around my legs, pulling me.

My body becoming colder as I was getting forcefully moved from my dark prison and then nothing but light and the need to gasp for air, a feeling which I've felt in my past lives, but not up until now.

Then I opened my eyes, and humanoid hands were all over me! They were human!

WHACK

'Did they just slap my ass?'

I felt so weak I couldn't look around, but in front of me was an old woman checking me over and speaking in some language I couldn't understand.

*"It seems this one doesn't have much of a voice, but alive and well he is Sam"*

*"bring my child here"*

I couldn't make it out, but I felt that I had limited movement, and then it hit me. 'I was reborn as a child for my seventy-fifth life'

*"Such beautiful eyes he has, doesn't he?"* Hearing her jargled speech as she caressed my cheek.

*"Of course, its not often a child is born with such violet eyes and a full head of hair at that!"* she stated while bringing Sam a cup of what seemed like wine.

*"To dull the senses dear, its not until tomorrow that the healer shows up"*.

'This is new, normally I enter a body, but now I'm born into one?' This cold hearted life dulled my senses to any fairness but at least I can breathe before I die.

The past death still haven't caught up with me and becoming numb to death might have changed the way the world it viewed in my eyes.

'My mother in this life sure is pretty though.'

*"What will you name him Miss Sam?"* the maid servant said handing her another glass of wine after she downed the first one, then proving me up to start feeding.

*"I will name him Cassius, tell my father the King that his bastard grandchild is born"*
