She felt relieved but also alert, afraid that the men would return to avenge their friend's death and chase her and Xavier with reinforcement. She wouldn't be this alerted if Gavriel was the one who had shown up, not Xavier.

With curiosity, Iris glanced at Xavier, who was walking a few steps ahead of her. She asked him, "X-Xavier, what happened there?" Her voice sounded shaky and barely audible, but Xavier could hear her clearly. He slowed his pace so he could walk alongside her.
