Chapter 10- Mortal Asura Ice Source

He used his incredible strength to dig up the spot that the martial energy was the richest as he assumed that was were the treasure was.

He dug deeper and deeper until he entered a small space where the abundance of martial energy increased substantially. He crawled around the space and found that the temperature was dropping extremely quickly and it quickly fell to a point where strands of frost started to freeze his seven orifices.

Wan Long was a Second Level of Body Refinement and he was able to withstand at least -150 degrees of heat without feeling a touch of cold yet he was actually feeling intense chill as though his whole body was entrapped in a box full of snow.

As he crawled, he reached an area where there were many different types of herbs and plants that could be considered precious materials even in the main family of the Wan clan. Though Wan Long felt very happy about discovering these herbs, his face changed extremely quickly as he felt the terrifying pressure being emanated from another direction, towards an altar that contained a chest.

The chest was not exquisite, and it seemed as if it was made of rotting wood, and had bits of frosty mist rising from the inside of the chest.

Wan Long endured the frightening cold and went forward to open the chest.

As he caressed the chest, he lifted the cover and a wave of even more powerful chill enveloped him. Though this could not compare to the pressure that Wan Long felt when the Power of Gluttony descended upon him.

He stared into the centre of the chest and found a pitch-black block of ice freezing the inside of the chest. It was the source of the coldness that emerged on the surface.

This block of ice was recognised by Wan Long as the Mortal Asura Ice Source, a low quality Martial Source. But even the lowest quality Martial Source was extremely strong. Wan Long only knew of the existence of Martial Sources when he inherited part of Long Er Du's memories of countless books about many different things.

The Mortal Asura Source was actually part of another Martial Source, called the Godly Asura Source. The Godly Asura Source was made up of the Mortal, Earthen, Heavenly, and Divine Asura Sources. According to ranks, they were split into low, medium, and high. With the Mortal and Earthen Sources being low quality Martial Sources. Heavenly Sources being a medium quality Martial Source, and Divine Source being a high quality Martial Source.

But the Godly Asura Ice Source was a peak quality flame, with almost no competition amongst other flames. According to Long Er Du's memories, the Godly Asura Ice Source could allow one to utilise the power of an actual asura and transform into an asura, further empowered by the power of ice.

The wooden chest itself was definitely a treasure, as it could contain this Mortal Asura Ice Source for a long period of time, until of course, it was eventually corroded by the Martial Source and discovered by Wan Long through his God's Eyes.

"Urghh!!" As Wan Long came in direct contact with the Mortal Asura Ice Source, a pain that pricked like needles was felt on the arm that touched the block of ice. Soon, the pain spread throughout his body and made Wan Long feel even more in pain than when he encountered the Power of Gluttony. His skin was quickly freezing up, and his entire body started to turn rigid. Soon, he became an ice statue that stood on the altar, caressing a broken wooden chest that held a pitch black block of ice
