Combat techniques

'What kind of a defensive spell is that?' The Twilight Emperor muttered in disbelief. This was a Tier 4 spell that could potentially injure an average Tier 4 Emperor yet this spell was completely blocked by the magic barrier casted by a Tier 2 Sword Master!

"Who are you?" The Twilight Emperor muttered. "You're not a Sword Master"

"I'm the Sword Mage" Xuanyuan replied not expecting a Tier 4 Demon Emperor of a leveling region to recognize.

"Sword Mage? Is that a dog's name?" As expected the Twilight Emperor didn't only fail to recognize him but ridiculed him instead.

"Yeah. And that dog will kill you now" Xuanyuan replied calmly.

"Do you think you can be so presumptuous just by blocking my spell? Whichever method you used to block it, I'm sure you can only use it for a limited amount of time" The Twilight Emperor said. After all, this Tier 4 spell he casted was not ordinary. Even a Tier 4 Berserk Emperor would be injured of not careful. A spell that could block it completely cannot be used infinitely by a Sword Master.

"How will you deal with me once you can't cast the spell anymore?"

"I don't need that to kill you" Xuanyuan said.

He raised his sword and ninety nine lightning swords appeared around him. With a light gesture, the swords began streaking towards the Emperor who hurriedly casted a defensive spell to protect himself.

<Tier 4 spell: Imperial wall!>

A smile appeared on the Emperor's face as a sturdy wall materialized in front of him. This Imperial wall spell was a Peak Tier 4 Defensive spell that could even block an attack from a true Tier 5 Saint. He believes Xuanyuan numerous swords won't even leave a scratch on the wall.

But he had clearly underestimated the power of the swords.

Booming sounds continuously rang out throughout the hall as the lightning swords collided with the Imperial wall. At first it appeared as if the wall was defending the swords with no problem but the smile on the Emperor's face disappeared when cracks began appearing on the wall.

"How is this possible?!"

The cracks continued spreading until the wall could not withstand any more bombardment and broke apart. But there were only a few more swords left which the Emperor dodged with a strange footwork technique that left Xuanyuan awestruck.

'It's not a skill nor is it a Mana technique! It's a combat technique!' Xuanyuan exclaimed.

Combat techniques are a unique classification of techniques in the Realm of spirituality. This techniques are acknowledged by the God system and one can learn them by acquiring the tablet or book where said combat technique is recorded. These combat techniques require Mana but they are not classified as Mana techniques.

Mana techniques are unique in the fact that they require deep understanding of the operating principles of Mana. Once mastered, one's understanding of Mana increases drastically. But combat techniques do not require understanding of Mana. Rather they require excellent control over the body to be executed. That's why one needs to be a Body refinement realm expert at the very least to master a combat technique. Some high ranking combat techniques would be considered difficult to master even for a Domain realm expert.

The only similarity between Mana techniques and combat techniques is that, they do not have cooldowns and can be executed infinitely so long as you have enough Mental power to expend.

The soul is unique in the Realm of spirituality. This is mainly because players in the real world connect to the Realm of spirituality through their minds. Hence improvement of Mental power in game affects their Mental power in the real world.

Meanwhile the mental or soul power of a player is not quantified in the Realm of spirituality and players have no way of knowing how much mental power they possess or how they can improve it. The higher the mental power of a player the longer the player can fight and once a player is drained of his mental power, the player would be paralyzed unable to lift a finger even if their MP bar is 100% full. In some cases, some players are forcefully logged out of the game...

Xuanyuan could only watch as the dodged his swords. Even though Xuanyuan's combat standards was superior to that of the Emperors who is only a Flowing water realm expert, he was still unable to land a hit. This shows how fearsome Combat techniques are.

On the other hand, the Twilight Emperor was even more astonished. As a Tier 4 powerhouse, not many could break his defenses let alone leave him dodging like a frightened rabbit and all this is casually achieved by a Sword Master. What even made the Emperor more astonished was the power he sensed from the swords. If one of them struck him, losing HP will be the least of his worries. And that was what baffled him even more.

'Since when did Sword Masters become so strong?' He thought.

"Now this is getting even more interesting..." Xuanyuan muttered to himself.

"I didn't think I'd have to use my Trump card against a mere Sword Master" The Twilight Emperor said. "But now you can die honorably that you're able to force me to use this on you"

The Twilight Emperor said and a ripple of Mana spread with the Emperor as the centre. Then a terrifying suppression manifested that suppressed all of Xuanyuan's movements.

"A Mana domain?" Xuanyuan muttered without being surprised. After all, one of the special abilities of Emperors is a Mana domain and this is due to the advanced control of Mana...
