Chapter 14: Misunderstanding?

After crossing the river, the leader of the group starts to introduce me to his people. Everybody starts to look at me respectfully for some reason that I don't know.

After the introduction, I only remember the name of the leader. His name is Jimmy. The rest I just can't remember them all. This is a group of 10 hunters. Each of them looks strong and well-built.

"Mr. Soro, what is your plan right now? Where are you planning to go next? If you want, I can let one of my man to guide you to see our village".

I start to make a thinking look and then reply:" I don't know yet. My goal is to explore the world and catch some strong animals. But at the moment, I am free. Maybe I can help you to hunt and then we can go back to your village".

Everybody looks surprised by my reply. Maybe they didn't expect me to follow them? Before they can agree or refuse me, I ask them for their plan:" Mr. Jimmy, where are you plan to go for the hunt?"

Then a guy steps out to answer my question." we plan to hunt some animals around the safe area of the forest".

While we were talking, my wolf's pack already crossed the river and come closer to our group. After I notice the arrival of my wolves, I ask the group of hunters to lead the way. No one refuses my suggestion so we start to move.

Two hours into the hunt. My wolf's pack proves to be super useful. We successfully hunted many small animals. From little rabbits to some foxes. It makes everyone beam with a smile. Normally, it takes them half a day to get this many animals.

While everyone feels happy, I walk up to the leader." Mr. Jimmy! As you can see, with the help of my wolfs I think we should spend our time hunting some big animals".

Jimmy look a bit hesitated then reply:" My responsibility is to lead this small team to hunt some small preys to earns experience. I can't be risking their lives in the danger zone. If you want, we can gather a team of experienced hunters to go hunt with you once we go back to the village".

By now I got to know a few of them. Jimmy is an experienced hunter and he is the leader. And there is 2 more experienced hunter that is good with a bow. One call Banh and another one call Cub. And the 7 newbies are ranging from 14 to 17 years old, with little to no experience at all in hunting.

At first, I was shocked when they tell me that a buffed guy is only 16. But now I just accept this as the norm of this world. So it does not surprise me much when I heard that a group of strong men are inexperienced.

Suddenly, someone starts talking from behind Jimmy. It was Banh." Jimmy! Maybe we should give the kids a chance to prove themselves in front of Mr. Soro. If it's too dangerous, we can just retreat".

Then I see everyone nodding and agree with Banh even Cub has nothing to say. Seeing this, Jimmy let out a sigh in defeat and then agree to follow my suggestion.

I am not sure what they mean by proving themselves in front of me. But since they are helping me to hunt more animals, I am ok with checking them out and give them some scores at the end of it. Count this as I am a judge.
