344 The God Emperor of Mankind

The figure of the Emperor faded behind a maze of pillars and statues as the Golden Gods of the Adeptus Custodes guided us further along the bridge. Caution was tangible within the air as the my previous deduction had spotlighted me as a very intelligent individual, at least, they saw it that way.

Getting closer to the entry way of the palace the number of Custodes increased tenfold or more, the shining golden armour gleaming bright with a dull green light as their helms slowly followed our trek. Selene, Hela and Jean were getting more uncomfortable by the second and there was nothing I could do to abate their feelings. Intricate scrawling and etching started to become more visible as we near the end of the bridge and the start of the staircase. They were all in high gothic, my ability helping me to understand the text on the walls and statues.

One such statue was of Malcador The Sigilite, the best friend of the Emperor of Mankind and the man with the balls large enough to sit on the Golden Throne whilst the Emperor battled Horus. 'Fucking Erebus!' My emotions simmered for a few seconds before calming down, my own divinity forcefully making me chill the fuck out. I was still pissed at that dude for turning Lorgar and therefor starting the Horus Heresy. I mean the future was probably worse if that didn't happen, hence the Emperor did what he did, but I digress.

Amongst these statues were other Imperial Martyrs and other figures from times long gone, even a representation of Julius Caesar being present. The High gothic on the walls told of old battle and long ago histories of the Imperium, marks on the Imperial palace from old battles still pot-marking the structure in places. The entire sight was immensely dense in history and humanity, the entire structure singing the praises of Humanity and of the God Emperor. Selene was slightly unnerved by the statue of Julius Caesar but she continued to walk onwards, her eyes gaining a sharpness to them that belied her true feelings of stiflement. Jean was weary but also calm, her aura being heavily controlled down to the centimetre. Hela was the one I was most concerned about as she was pouting at me and looking really pissy, i was worried she was going to give the Emperor sass... I mean, I'd laugh my ass off if she did, but i didn't know how that would play out.

Stretching my neck a little I decided to let fate take over, the die was already caste and the Emperor would know the move I took in the great tapestry of time. He would not be as stupid to believe that it was by chance. Entering into the inner halls of the Golden Palace enormous golden archways and winding corridors met us, as well as large halls that looked as if made for a cathedral but of a planetary scale, the entire structure as massive as, I am sure, the Emperor's ego was.

Twenty Custodes joined us on our march through the halls as the very bells of Terra were rattling hard against their confinements, the bell tole of the Emperor calling out to the entirety of Humanity. 'Your certainly pulling out all the stops old man.' This continued for the entire time period we took to get to a massive series of stair ways that wound down towards the Sanctum Imperialis . At first I didn't want to use my powers to avoid disrespect but I couldn't help myself as I wanted to inquire as to the size of the palace, our path so far taking us through a small entrance to the palace.

What I felt, smelt, heard, saw and vibed was utterly enormous. The entire palace was the size of a continent and just as intricate as an actual city. Countless pathways, rooms, chambers, antechambers, study chamber, libraries, facilities... Everything, it has everything you could imagine a city having but more opulent. Even the dungeons were made of gold and platinum. The Custodes felt nothing but my senses were soon met with an equal pressure, the Emperor showing that his power is still mighty even though he may be working on twenty things at once.

'Bastard probably knew his destruction was coming and intentionally split his soul so he could work on so many things at once.'

I had a sinking suspicion that my thought was correct as we entered deep into the palace proper. Through golden subterranean catacombs and halls we traversed until we now stood in front of the gigantic doors bearing the Imperial Aquila. Everyone stopped except me, the captain general walking beside me as the other Custodes all entered before me, taking place beside the doors. Turning to my women I grinned slightly, sending a kiss through the air to them. They responded in kind right before I walked into the Sanctum Imperialis.

The inside of this space was massive, with a large pyramid device in the centre of the room. At the peak of the Pyramid was a carcass writhing with power from the dark age of technology. Cybernetic attachments buzzed and glowed from his eye and several places on his body as the screams of thousands of souls being fed to him played in the background. The pyramid itself was yet again golden, its stair worn and blemished from centuries of Custodes maintaining the Emperor upon his throne and the Tech Priests' best attempts to maintain the machine that preserved his body. My steps clattered loudly against the Interior cavernous chamber of the Sanctum Imperialis, the low thrum of electricity moving making the entire scene before me become sad.

Visions of my past life as a cancer patient stuck within a Hospital came to mind. It was as if he was in the same position but one-hundred times worse. The pain that must come from the body and through his psyche would no doubt be shattering for any normal person. Feeling some slight pity at his situation I couldn't help but look at the device in an attempt to find any way to change it to resurrect him. Suddenly a voice entered into my mind, its volume loud and blaring as the pressure of his psychic might pushed down on me.

I flexed my muscles and powers as my aura slowly oozed out of my body, my own psychic powers meeting the challenge equally.

"One who is like me... You play a dangerous game filled with trial and tribulations."

"Tool, you have to destroy them!"

"Big Sister, please end the baddies..."

"Ally of mine, I am fractured, fragmented, I apologise... Assist us."

The variety of voices mixed together into an almost acidic psychic force as flashes of intentions and hatreds flickered through my mind. I didn't flinch from the vision and accepted them in stead. The sensations were mind bending and fully maddening, that is, it would be if I wasn't a Primordial, like him.

My mind started to categorise the voices and images, filtering them for digestion later as my focus was solely on that last reasonable sounding voice.

"How can I assist you... I know I do not speak with the part of yourself that resides within the Warp. So, what is it you wish for me to do? Reunite you? heal your body so that your soul may have an anchor to merge with?" The Custodes at the sides of the room moved slightly under my words as I could feel their slight surprise at how easy I was saying that I could heal him. I couldn't really, it would take time and effort, perhaps even some of the best technology of my system.

"Tapestry of the future has changed and ebbed with your appearance in the Galaxy... You must have seen the small hope I cling to. Humanity needs the light, needs stability, needs, me."

"Hehe, I need to become a single me again!"

"Warrior, Ally, Fighter, Goddess, Primordial... I request your aid."

"I understand you need my aid. Do you wish for me to start working towards assisting the Imperium and searching for a way to heal you?"

"Yes."

"Mhm"

"Yeah sis!"

The conversation was a little confusing but that last answer could not have been more clear. I needed to resurrect the Emperor... 'First, let's bring back Sanguinius. '

"Let me bring back your sons first, with them fully able to assist I will be able to better aid you."

A series of confirmation were transmitted to me and into the room as the psychic powers transferred even to the Custodes, many of them kneeling in reverence as the Captain general nodded several times.

"Yes My Emperor! I shall guard her with my life!"

Utter bafflement flooded me as I considered his words... 'Does that mean I am gaining the full support of the Imperium?' Then, just as soon as I finished that a large cuffufle happened outside as miniature quakes resounded, fighting going on as the large golden doors opened. Stepping out was an Inquisitor bearing the colours of the Ordo hereticus.

"Cease in the name of the Inquisition! None shall move in this room until we have completed our investigation!" The captain general stood and walked in front of me, the other Custodes in the room moving to make a formation in front of me. The carcass on the throne buzzed lightly as the psychic might crashed into the outside forces versing my women, destroying their defences and dropping them onto their asses, clutching their heads.

"YOU SHALL CEASE! KNEEL!" The entire palace shook and shuddered as the psychic might of the Emperor came fully down upon the entire planet. It seems Warp Emps was getting somewhat pissed at the constant idiocy of his subordinates.

'Ohhh shit... You done fucked up now Inquisition kid!'
