28 Level 20, Maturing
"So what was this I heard about timeline?"
Nick Fury asked as he stood next to Tony, the man hanging his arms down to his side as if ready to grasp his pistol at a moments notice. I slightly rolled my eyes at the idea of a gun being able to protect him from me. Nen enabled me to eat bullets and spit them right back.
"None of your concern is what it is..."
My voice echoed in room causing some of the soldiers in the periphery to look in my direction temporarily. Fury squinted his eyes as a small twitch in has facial expression allowed me to see that he was rather pissed be told that it wasn't his concern.
"I don't even know who you both are but how about we all sit down and talk this out, like actual adults."
Tony's voice interrupted me and Fury's staring competition, though he couldn't see my eyes at all with my veil up and running. I looked over at him, my eyes lazily scanning across his armour until a small sigh escaped my lips.
"Very well, seeing as how I have to protect you anyway, it doesn't hurt to introduce ourselves."
"See that wasn't so hard, now you, black eyepatch pirate guy?"
Fury's face scrunched up as I heard him utter some 'Mother**kers' and some '**tches', but he soon nodded his head. Tony started leading us, still in his armour, to the bar where there was several cracked bottles and shards of molten glass melted into the benchtop.
"Now that were comfortable, who may you be misses Blank face."
I smiled a bit at his words my tension from earlier somewhat calming down despite the currently intense atmosphere. My hand reached for an offered glass of wine as Pepper, Tony and Fury all stared at me.
"I am someone sent to protect you as I have said before... I am not here to destroy or kill anyone, only here to stop you from dying young."
They all exhibited different reactions as Tony just downed his glass a hint of melancholy tainting his well practiced arrogance. Fury raised his eyebrows slightly at my words his face freezing into a controlled stillness, as if calculating the deeper meanings of my words. Whilst Pepper just smiled a little as she lightly touched the arc reactor that powered her suite.
"If we are to assume you are truthful with this intent then who were those guys that attacked?"
Fury asked as his face kept it's controlled calculative front. He hadn't touched the offered brandy as his one single eye was glued to me, as if trying to slice off any information he can about me.
"I have no clue."
This brought silence to everyone for a brief moment until the sound of a glass being lifted interrupted the interlude in the conversation. I slowly drank the wine, my body barely feeling anything after drinking it, as if the alcohol had no affect on me. I put down my glass after savouring the taste of the berries within the wine, turning towards Pepper for a moment.
"What? What's up?"
Pepper had asked me that as her face turned thunderous for a few moments, as if i had just aimed a gun at her. 'She needs to calm down ffs...'
[Yes she does, also on another note, please get to a safe location soon, you have completed a mission and need to level up, the system also needs to update.]
'Awesome!'
A small smile emerged on my face, not that they could see it at all. I simply moved my head towards the direction of Tony looking at him again before sighing aloud.
"Look, I don't know much about the situation and the parts that I do know cannot be said. That being said I can give you a warning..."
'I don't know if this is the right decision but fuck it, I can't always rely on your guidance sis, I have to start becoming confident in myself.'
[They grow up so fast... Please lean on me for anything other than advice then, I'll now turn that function off.]
'Please do, I need to feel like I can navigate these situations.'
[All good sis.]
Fury, Tony and Pepper all waited with baited breath as I collected my thoughts, the small gap in conversation causing some more tension to build in the social atmosphere.
"This world is larger than you think it is. What you consider impossible or highly improbable is most certainly possible, even curing your poisoning Tony and your as well Pepper... Keep striving, that is all you can do."
My word eerily soaked into all of them as the room started to darken, the sun quickly beginning its descent below the horizon. All of them were silent. It wasn't until I had finished my wine and started to stand up that they snapped out of their thoughts.
"Wait, where are you going? I don't even know your name."
"Hold up, do you have any contact information that i could have in case of emergency?"
"Thank you for helping us weather this disaster."
All three of them spoke at once, Pepper's words being the most obvious to me as it differed to the other two.
I turned towards Pepper my face still somewhat hidden behind the veil. That was, until i turned it off momentarily to let her see my face.
"No issue, It is good to receive thanks sometimes."
Pepper blushed as she looked at me, the other two trying to gain an angle to see me better at. I then quickly activated my veil before turning to the two very annoyingly intelligent men.
"I have no contact information. If you want my name, it's Emelia."
"Emelia... Okay, i'll remember it. Would you be willing to come to dinner with me and Pepper so that we can thank you fully for saving me today?"
I frowned somewhat as my mind worked over time thinking about the pros and cons of doing so. I eventually came up with an answer.
"I can attend the dinner but if there is even a hint of spying devices," I looked at Fury his demeanour unchanging as I did so. "I will leave."
"Haha, that's fine then seeing as how Jarvis can detect those devices."
Fury narrowed his eyes at Tony before sighing a little, his expression shifting into one of resignation. Meanwhile Tony was filled with smiles as he started talking about meeting at a five star restaurant called Atera and how good it will be.
I simply nodded at his antics before agreeing to meet them there in a month. 'It's so hard having people try and be friends with me again... Especially since its Tony.' I awkwardly smiled as Pepper joined in on the conversation, the whole entire atmosphere morphing into a 'party planning' session.
A couple of hours later after talking about the venue and what I liked to drink etc, I finally apparated away, back into my five star En suite, my body dropping to the nearest seat as I rubbed my temples slowly.
'He sure talks a lot.'
[Probably means he likes you, as a potential friend of course.]
'Yes, well it doesn't make it any easier.'
'Anyway, you said i had level ups and also that you needed to update?'
[Yes.]

I started using {Mystic Atmosphera} and put a ice wall around me strengthening it with excess mana before slowly I started to fall unconscious, the ice wall around me alleviating my discomfort.
