A fragrant and delicious smell was wafting from the kitchen. There, a fair-skinned, beautiful girl with long white hair and pristine white robe was cutting fish meat and vegetables.

Her fingers held the knife dexterously as her hand moved down continuously in a quick manner, slicing whatever it touched neatly in a blink of an eye akin to what an expert chef would fare.

There were a lot and lots of ingredients that needed to be processed on the table, enough for a dozen of people.

Even so, she had finished cutting and cleaning them off in just a few minutes, a very remarkable speed considering she had worked alone on lots of ingredients, something that only a chef with superhuman ability could do.

She sorted all the ingredients and proceed to pour the fish meat and seasonings into a big pot filled with piping hot boiling water.

She stirred the pot with a long ladle as she waited for the meat to become tender, and the seasonings to seep into the meat, granting it a delectable taste.

After waiting for a while, she cut a little piece of meat and tasted the meat. She bit the fish meat as it touched her tongue, giving off its yummy and juicy taste that melt in her mouth.

Feeling satisfied with the tenderness and taste, she nodded and put the diced vegetables into the pot, complementing the delicious meat with more essential nutrients and various flavors granted by the vegetables, making the dish both tastier and more nutritious.

After done with the dish, she took out a few bowls and plates. She filled the bowls with the fish soup and the plates with cooked rice, a top combination as everybody knew.

When she was serving the dishes on top of a circular table, a handsome man with long jet-black hair that stretched to his back came holding a tray with a teacup and glasses on it. He had a smile on his face as his coal-black eyes stared at the white-haired girl.

"Good morning, princess Adori. I see that you are almost done, as expected you are always as efficient and consistent as usual." Liu Guanyi sat on the chair and greeted her.

Adori smiled and took a seat across from him. "It's not like you are any different, Liu."

This was normal among them. As a team made of three people, they had a schedule who would take care of preparing food and cooking which would alternate among the three of them, and now, it was Adori's turn to cook.

They were still humans, after all, so they would still need to eat, especially Liu Guanyi since he was a martial warrior, though they could skip a few days not eating without any repercussion with their strong constitutions.

Liu Guanyi poured the tea into a glass and offered it to her. He sipped his own tea calmly and replied. "Well, you are right, princess. Consistency is the key to success, after all."

"If we do everything half-heartedly, how we can achieve whatever we dream of? But as long as we strive toward that goal ceaselessly, we might be able to reach it in the end."

"If anyone else speaks such a thing, I won't even care, but since it's coming from you, it does truly hold some truth to it." Said Adori with a sincere smile.

"I am truly honored that a noble princess of Zahard has such a high evaluation of me." Said Liu Guanyi as he smirked.

Adori sipped the tea, tasting the bitter flavor on her tongue, and looked up to stare at his face. "That's natural, I have never seen anyone with such a strong drive, ambition, and… talent like you in my entire life. Although it's just an intuition of mine, I feel that you will soon surpass me, or…"

Adori stopped for a moment to stare into the abyss-like eyes intently. "You already surpassed me, aren't you, Liu? At least your shinsu resistance and physical power are already more powerful than mine, a princess of Zahard who surpassed many of her sisters at the same age."

"Resisting the Mirotic Guardian full-powered attack with just a finger and without any injury? There's no mistake, you have truly grown very strong. With your powerful strength and techniques, now, even I am not sure will be able to defeat you, and this happened in just around a decade." Adori said seriously.

Silence fell in the kitchen as none of them say anything and only enjoyed sipping their teas.

After savoring the warm and bitter taste of the tea, Adori continued. "It's no wonder that you are very determined and ambitious, you know that you have the talent, you only need the hard work and time to grow."

"But as I said before, I have never seen someone with your capability and talent, even among the princesses of Zahard. There's no way everything could happen just because of a mere coincidence."

Adori's piercing golden eyes looked strongly at Liu Guanyi's black eyes, holding on firmly against the dark abyss-like eyes. "Just… what are you, Liu Guanyi?" She said with a solemn and heavy tone.

Liu Guanyi didn't answer immediately. He stared at his own reflection on the tea inside his glass as the reflection started to become blurry as he jiggled the glass in his hand.

The silence lasted for a while until Adori was about to back down since it seemed that Liu Guanyi didn't want to speak and she didn't really want to press him.

However, Liu Guanyi suddenly opened his mouth. "Well, princess, to be honest, I don't really know about myself that well. To me, I am just a slightly special person, nothing more, nothing less."

"I'm sure there are some people like me out there, maybe you simply haven't met someone like me, the tower is vast, isn't it?"

Adori let out a sigh. "You are right, sorry if asked something offensive and intrusive. That was unbecoming of me."

Liu Guanyi shrugged it off. "It's okay, I don't mind it, princess. Curiosity is important for us to improve, and speaking about curiosity, aren't we here to figure out the connection between the Workshop and the ten great families?"

Suddenly, a voice interrupted their conversation. "Oh, Mr. Liu and princess Adori, you are already up." Remarked Xin as he came out from behind.

"Hey, Xin, did you have a good rest?" Asked Liu Guanyi as Xin nodded.

"Well, that's good since you won't be having another nice rest for a long time after this. Come have a seat, I want to talk about our plans for the time being."
