Liu Guanyi managed to dodge whatever coming toward his head as the flying object struck the door, creating a clanking sound before a flapping noise was heard as it backed off quickly.

When Liu Guanyi looked ahead, he saw the one who had attacked him.

It was some kind of bird with a medium size. When it unfurled its wings, its wingspan reached more than one meter in length. Red and blue feathers jutted around its body, covering its flesh underneath.

Its head had a long yellow feather that stuck upward and a small beak. On its face, there were two yellow eyes with slits in the middle as it stared at him with undisguised murderous intent directed at him.

On the end of its legs, there were big dangerous-looking claws ready to tear apart its prey. From the scratch damage on the door, it seemed that the bird exactly used its claws most of the time to kill its prey just as it had done to Liu Guanyi.

Liu Guanyi took out three small black needles and held them between his fingers. Using his deft fingers, he rapidly shot out the first needle accurately at the bird's eye, prompting it to rapidly flap its wings to dodge it.

Liu Guanyi didn't stop there.

Just after the bird dodged the first needle, he fired off the second needle at one of its wings, cutting it deeply and breaking its balance in the air, and then, without delay, he covered the last one in shinsu and shot it toward its chest, cutting a small hole on its body that went right through its heart and cutting the bird's life short.

"What an odd bird." Liu Guanyi uttered curtly after he saw its bleeding corpse on the floor, painting the floor in red.

"How so?" Adori spoke out.

"Do you know the basic knowledge about animals?"

"Not really, I rarely have an interaction with them, and it's not like I'm interested in animals."

Liu Guanyi nodded. "As expected, so it's not surprising that you don't understand it."

"I guess even a prodigious princess of Zahard doesn't know everything, though it's weird since it's a very basic that every regular should probably know." Liu Guanyi said with a smile.

Adori didn't say anything and only raised her eyebrows slightly at his comment.

Liu Guanyi didn't annoy her for long, fully knowing his objectives on the train at hand as he quickly satiated the princess of Zahard's curiosity. "Well, just like us, humans or whatever humanoid species in the tower, they, both animals and Shinheuh, have their own instincts."

"As you have known, instincts are very important in ensuring the survival of every living being. Both humans and animals have their instincts, but there's one big difference."

"Since humans have very developed brains to help them, their reliance on instincts have greatly lessened, making them duller, but it was the opposite case of animals and Shinheuh. Since their brains are undeveloped, they can't use high processing capability, and as a result, they have no other choice but to completely rely on their instincts."

Liu Guanyi glanced at the bird. "However, this bird doesn't follow its instinct of survival. When the bird failed to surprise attack me, it only backed off with the intention of attacking me again even though it had lost the have the advantage of surprise, instead of running away, acting against its basic instinct to engage in a needless and risky combat against a strong foe."

Nodding her head in understanding, Adori wondered. "I see… maybe this is one of the tests that the regulars have to face on the hell train?"

"Indeed, that's most likely the case."

Ksssshhh! Crrckk! Crrckk!!

Suddenly, loud noises rang out as the train rocked quite strongly, shaking them on their feet. Though it didn't affect any of them at all as their trained bodies could keep their balance very easily, even Xin was capable of doing it easily while being bandaged all over his body.

"It seems that the train is already moving." Liu Guanyi said casually, guessing what might be the cause of the shock earlier.

"Let's search the area first and if there's nothing important, we will continue moving forward. If it's correct, according to the information we got, the Hell Train will reach the 36th floor in about one month."

"And because the tests are conducted on the train are in certain places, we have to go there first before we even have to qualify for taking the test."

Liu Guanyi continued with a solemn voice. "If we can't reach to the testing place within one month to do the test or if we fail the test…"

"The operator of the Hell Train will kick us out of the train without any hesitation even if it's a princess of Zahard. That's why let's not waste any more time and get going."

Both of them agreed, as far as they were concerned, time was the essence. Until they reached one of the test zones on the Hell Train before the train passed a floor, they wouldn't be at ease with the threat of being kicked out of the train hanging above them.

Even Xin, having been informed by Liu Guanyi about his plans, understood that they weren't here just for a simple adventuring or a faster way to climb the tower and they couldn't afford to be kicked out of the train before they accomplished their objectives on the train.

The three restarted their walk as they moved forward slowly to scour and examine everything in the room to not miss any signs and clues which might be hidden in the room before they eventually would have to leave it to continue their journey.

After walking attentively, they almost reached the end of the room.

Unfortunately, they failed to obtain any clues or anything at all.

There was the only difference from the previous room, the now-dead bird, or that would have been the case if there wasn't an open road dozens of meters away in front of them.

Yes, an open road instead of a door. A road of light which shined brightly upon their eyes, emanating a feeling of glory and antiquity, setting it apart from just any roads.

"Xin, you have done your due diligence, I presume?" Liu Guanyi turned his head and asked Xin

"That's for sure, Mr. Liu. I at least know what to do as the acting light-bearer and that laziness is taboo in this team." Xin said jokingly.

"Then do you know what's is this bright road? As a member of one of the ten ancient households, you are probably privy to more information than what's circulating on the internet."

Xin answered with uncertainty. "That's I'm not sure, but according to the rumors and hearsay of the regulars visiting the Hell Train, this bright road after every entrance of the Hell Train holds a great significance to the history of the tower."

Xin turned to speak in a solemn tone. "They called it the "Revolution Road", the road passed by the ten great families' leaders when they traveled the Hell Train."

"The road that changed the history of the tower and determined the unity and balance of the ten great families."
