Adori let out a sigh at his question. "I know, the one who sent them was most likely one of the princesses from the Lo Po Bia family. It's probably related to the Zahard princesses' competition so they probably wanted to kill me to get rid of another promising competitor before I'm too hard to handle."

"The thirteen months hold immense importance for every family that backs their princesses, so it's not surprising that they would do something like that." Adori spoke solemnly.

"That's why, princess Adori, both the Zahard family and the ten great families aren't as united as they appeared to the outsiders."

"Even the most impartial leader among them, king Zahard didn't even make his intention to fan the flames to the competition a secret, making the competition between his own family members much worse." Said Liu Guanyi.

"And even if you are a loyalist, didn't he already cause you many problems by fanning out the flames?" Liu Guanyi asked as he stared at the princess.

"Having a competition is good to keep making people to improve themselves, but that's only applicable if it's a fair competition. Since they as Rankers, or even worse, as High rankers can send their subordinates to kill some lowly regulars, can it be called fair competition anymore?"

"And even very likely of knowing this, king Zahard never stopped this stupid competition. Would you really be willing to follow such a willful leader, who doesn't care about his subjects, princess Adori?" Liu Guanyi said with a casual tone.

Hearing his words, Adori became silent as she was lost in thought.

Seeing this, Liu Guanyi continued. "Even though you won't be following his orders seriously since you aren't truly loyal to the king, it's a fact that you are going to be forced to uphold the king's orders anyway if you want to keep your position later on. Whether you want to do it or not, you won't have the choice but to follow, princess."

Liu Guanyi smiled. "And if you don't follow his orders, it's easy to foresee that you definitely won't have a good time, and probably even lose your position in the Zahard family as you don't have any backer other than the Zahard family themselves, unlike the princesses from the ten great families."

"Is such a position really worth losing your freedom, especially if you don't even like your leader in the first place?"

Adori looked at Liu Guanyi in the eye with a smile. "I guess you are really an eloquent speaker."

Liu Guanyi simply smiled back at her. "Thank you for your kind words, your highness, I am honored. However, I am serious about my proposition earlier."

"With your help, my ambition can be realized much easier, and in return, you will be able to have something to fall back on in case that you have a fall out with the Zahard empire. Compared to the earlier proposition, it's not that bad, right?"

Not waiting for the Zahard princess to respond, Liu Guanyi continued to speak. "You don't have to answer it right now, my proposition is open for a long time, we are still D-ranked regulars, after all. My plans won't happen any time soon so you can always consider it."

Liu Guanyi shrugged off his shoulders. "Maybe you can just suddenly change your mind someday, who knows? Only time can truly tell."

Casually walking off, Liu Guanyi patted Adori's shoulder softly as he looked into her sparkling golden eyes with his contrasting dark abyss-like eyes. "That being said, I have faith in you, princess Adori. I'm sure that you will find the "correct" choice without a problem."

Adori could only nod lightly. She knew exactly what Liu Guanyi had implied. However, it was a very complicated situation for her. Furthermore, she felt that creating their own forces wouldn't matter even with their great potential.

Because there was one thing that had always been the unbreakable truth for tens of thousand years, that ten great family leaders and king Zahard were the absolute and undefiable rulers of the tower.

There was only one person who dared to oppose them and managed to break even the unbreakable truth and even humiliated them, the Red Tower, Enryu. However, Adori understood that he was the only exception, and even his origin and whereabouts were unknown.

If there wasn't any clear evidence of the aftermath of his deeds on the forbidden floor, nobody would even believe the existence of the ungodly spear-bearer.

But in the end, the Red Tower wasn't them, he was a mysterious and infamous irregular.

Even though Liu Guanyi was also an exceptional character himself, he was still around her level, and she knew that even with their talents, they were incomparable to the leaders of the ten great families and king Zahard let alone the Red Tower.

Seeing Adori pondering his words seriously, Liu Guanyi waved off his hands at her. "Anyway, just think about it. I want to continue my training, you can join me using the punching bag if you want, princess." He pointed his finger at the fresh and recovered Mirotic Guardian.

"No need, I'll just continue to polish my sword." Adori quickly rejected his offer. She wasn't interested in fighting a weakling. Although Liu Guanyi said it as training, to her, it was more like a constant, one-sided curb stomp.

Maybe Liu Guanyi just wanted to bully and beat the poor guardian to satisfy his destructive urge?

Adori shook her head. It was very unlikely of him. Liu Guanyi always meditated so the control of his emotions and urges was extremely profound. Just like what she knew of him, he never acted on fleeting emotions and urges, an extraordinary man with incredible self-control.

Whatever, it wasn't an important concern to Adori at the moment. She thought of his invitation and ambition, and finally… her own desire.

If Adori had a choice, she would definitely choose the "correct" choice. However, against those undying people, they weren't even worth anything so even if they did try to create their own forces, it would probably fare even worse than FUG, the group made of idiot lunatics.

If they didn't try to antagonize the ten great families, then basically everything would be the same. They would still have to bootlick them at every encounter. The only difference was they would be much wealthier and have some subordinates under them.

Still, Adori felt that Liu Guanyi implied something deeper in his words with his confidence, or what he said as "faith" in her. She stopped her musing and started swinging her sword.

Whatever…

Adori would simply place trust in him and see what would happen in the future. Maybe she would change her mind someday, just as he said.
