After finishing the "fair" deal, they strolled around on the 3rd floor. As they took their time exploring the floor, Adori turned toward Liu Guanyi.

"I didn't expect that you can even deal with the merchant to such extent. Have you ever been a merchant before?" Adori said casually,

"No, not really." Liu Guanyi smiled.

"It's crucial for a buyer to determine the "correct" price. I only tested him since I don't know the weight's true worth. Even I didn't expect to get such a good deal. It was mainly thanks to your identity, if not, he probably wouldn't have given in so easily."

"It's true that you did it by using my identity but you were the one who arranged it. You attracted his attention and riled him up as I witnessed him from the side, giving the impression that you acted on my behalf." Said Adori.

"Once you proved him as a shady merchant who pursues profit, you let him to realize that I was there to see his "shady practice" as a witness to catch him off guard, and then, he won't have any excuses to save him anymore." Adori explained the points clearly and concisely.

Liu Guanyi nodded. "That's true, indeed. However, it was very successful because he isn't an experienced merchant. His main occupation is an inventor so he is relatively easy to deal with."

Adori nodded lightly. The merchant was indeed easy to deal with, after all, he was a researcher, not a real merchant. If he was from one of those merchant groups, the result would most likely turn out way somewhat differently.

However, did this mean that Liu Guanyi wasn't skilled? Of course not!

Adori was convinced that Liu Guanyi was much more skilled than what he let on. Even in simple trading, he had some experience to be able to not let himself get the lower hand. Which meant that in his field of expertise, he was much more skilled than what he had shown until now.

"Why did you buy those weights? Haven't had enough for yourself?" Adori asked curiously.

"Well, Xin needs them as well to train more efficiently. Moreover, don't you think you might need them too? Your strength is still much more powerful than me but didn't you feel it yourself, that I am catching up with you quickly?" Liu Guanyi said teasingly.

Adori sighed, that was true.

He trained harder than her and was catching her up real fast. Adori didn't know how because it should had been impossible. She was immensely gifted, even before being baptized as a princess, she was stronger than some of the direct descendants of the ten great families.

Let alone after she was gifted with the blood of the greatest warrior in the tower. Only that legendary Red Tower surpassed him in that regard but he didn't count, he was a monster of another whole different level altogether.

Her potential had become even more monstrous. This was the main reason why the Zahard family nurtured and invested in her.

Although she only got some pocket money right now, Adori was still treated specially and was a special case among the princesses of Zahard.

No matter how hard a man trained his strength, a gorilla would always be stronger.

No matter how big a tuna could grow, it would always be in a shark's diet.

No matter how big and ferocious a great shark could be, it would always lose against an orca.

And in the tower full of fish, Adori was the orca.

Now out of a sudden, there was a fish that could be as powerful as the orca or even overtake its long reign as the apex predator in the oceans?

The probability was so low that it was practically nonexistent. There was no such thing as that happened out of nowhere or because of coincidence, Adori didn't believe that.

What she believed was that there was more than met the eye and he hid his background knowing it.

Liu Guanyi studied her face as she was deep in her thoughts.

He nodded, Adori was truly smart. He knew that she had been suspicious about his background and she knew that he already knew that she had become suspicious about his story.

However, Adori had never mentioned it even once.

Adori understood that he had his own reasons and circumstances and she knew that he already knew that she had understood it. Adori respected his boundaries and acted like she didn't care.

If Liu Guanyi wanted to share it, he would simply do it, there was no need to deceive each other. After climbing together for years, they already had a good mutual understanding.

"Well, speaking of not expecting, I also didn't expect you to tag along to the third floor. As someone from the royal family, isn't it better for you to relax on the second floor?"

"Our time in climbing the tower is hard, we are mostly training, after all." Liu Guanyi asked her casually.

Liu Guanyi was genuinely curious about it. From their experience being together, he knew that Adori wasn't the typical spoiled member of a royal family. Those royal descendants who worked diligently existed, after all.

Maybe Adori was under pressure or had a bad childhood experience to be this indifferent to luxuries and enjoyment?

'Is there an inner conflict in the royal family? However, that's unlikely. King Zahard is immortal, he doesn't need his descendants to succeed him as a king so he can always unite the family under his wing."

'I can't figure out her situation… I need more information.' Liu Guanyi thoughtfully pondered.

Adori broke from her reverie as she heard his question and spoke. "Well, the Zahard family is much more complicated than it seems for the general residents in the tower. You aren't someone from the ten great families so it's not surprising that you haven't heard about it."

Liu Guanyi frowned. "Is it a secret? You don't have to tell me if it's a secret for the nobles and the royal family."

Adori shook her head lightly. "No, it's not really a secret. It's more of common knowledge for the members of the ten great families and the Zahard family. So it's okay to tell you the information."

Her red, supple lips curled into a captivating smile. "The royal family is-"

"Finally, we found you, princess Adori!"

A loud voice suddenly interrupted her as both of them turned their heads toward the source of the voice.
